As Topaz cleverly mentioned in a skype chat,
"Every Touhou game ends with a 'End of Dream'. Walls' server was simply the first dream and Yukkuri Craft is where the new one begins."
As far as player interactions and community goes... Well, it'll be the same as any medium sized community. We'll just have to deal with what comes along and handle it the best way we can.

Time for my own two cents: and honestly the entire situation both depresses and frustrates me.
Now, I did not experience all the drama or what not. But when it all comes down to it I simply don't understand his choice to just abruptly shut down the server. When I was looking through the comments it was clear near no one was aware until they tried connecting and found the server gone. Now, it's not that I don't understand him personally not wanting to, he became tired and didn't want to deal with it all, that's fine, but there were much better ways he could have handled it. He could have passed on hosting rights to someone else as the most obvious. Or when he shut down the world he could have made the world files available to everyone so that all those years of work weren't just stuffed in a corner to wither into memory.
I think honestly that's what bothered me most about the whole situation. I first went on that server when it was still somewhat young, and I knew very little of Touhou at the time. And someone very kind led me through it all and taught me of the touhou universe, and seeing it visualized, that is what truly got me into everything. And I then did the same, as friends became interested in Touhou I would take them to the server and walk them through it, and they too got into it, and so on and so forth. That server became more then just a small minecraft community, it became something for the entirety of the Touhou community I feel.
So to see it abruptly pulled out from under everyones feet just feels...wrong. But, maybe that's just me. I just wish the situation would have been handled with the communities well being in mind.
All I can say is I'm so very happy to see everyone here taking the reins and bringing a visualization of Touhou back to life. It would be a crime if future individuals never got to experience the world of Touhou as I and many others did, walking the buildings and streets of the world.

He had his reasons and there were a lot of things that eventually led up to this unfortunate event, but I do feel that he could have handled things in a better way. At the same time, we should be grateful that he kept the server up for as long as he did. He never intended the server to become so large and public in the first place. Poor guy's computer and bandwidth.

We should build upon the death of THCraft, for greater and better things. Besides, not everything can last forever, can it?

For anyone interested, I built a shrine for it in the tunnel on Youkai Mountain, the one that leads to Suwa Lake. it's there if anyone wants to see it.

I stumbled upon that shrine by accident, but the memory will stay with me forever.
For although Touhoucraft has fallen, our fond memories will stay with us.
