Discuss as you wish. Believe it or not, Walls is the reason why we exist here today. He's the inspiration to us all. He deserves a thread of discussion here if people wish to openly talk about the situation. If not, I'll happily close it.

Do not say anything harsh or distasteful towards us or Walls regarding this incident. He's a respectful person and he deserves every bit of respect he gets. But that does not mean he can't be criticized or have his actions discussed upon his community.

Closing this thread would basically be equivalent of pissing on our roots. Keep it open.

I posted it in the steam announcement, but though it's true I'm probably the biggest reason yukkuricraft actually took off and formed, considering I'm running it, I still feel some regret for the way things ended up. That being said, I don't think I would have particularly liked staying on walls' server the way things were being done. It's more of a lesser of the two evils sort of thing, imo. Whatever happens though, I'm sticking with the choices I make. There's no use in pondering on "what ifs"

I feel a bit of regret inside me as well, it's something that's been wondering around in my mind all day today. Walls is tired, has been keeping strong to provide a good server to dozens of people every single day. Now, with some of us splitting off to do our own thing in order to obtain the one thing we really wanted - freedom; and the ability to build our own Gensokyo things, he feels even less inclined to keep the server up. It's basically a situation where, you're tired of something, and something else comes along and just crosses the line, sealing the deal.

Although feeling bad, I don't have regrets for anything other than letting the word get out sooner than intended. This was to be a Christmas reveal to Walls, we wanted to invite him to our server and show him what we've made. Of course, that didn't go as planned, things got out of hand and misunderstandings and mis-communications happened. Things just ended up in the worst possible way they could have, and it's what we tried to avoid.

All we can do now is carry on, and remember why we're all here in the first place.

Agreed. Then again, I think we all knew deep down that this wasn't going to go exactly as planned. There were too many unknown factors, the main one being how walls would react to the whole thing. The whole misunderstanding and miscommunication thing didn't help with his reaction. I don't mean to bash Ran here, but I'm not entirely sure if the way he worded the information to walls was the best way possible either.

I'm just hoping that maybe a month or two down the road, things will have cleared up for the better. Maybe it's too optimistic for me to say I want both servers to coexist in peace, but we can all hope.

I had a feeling things would probably get out of hand. Call it an itch in the back of my mind but upon coming into this project I knew that I would never be able to look back. To be honest the reason I've been building so fast is to distract myself from looking back. Seeing all the hurt feelings and bitter emotions wouldn't do me any good so I picked a direction, walked and didn't stop. Seeing that Steam announcement, to be honest, confused the hell out of me. To think that us making another server, or that the Skype group, really caused him to make that decision.

2 of the best years of my life were spent on that server. In fact back in September when I first got noticed and got builder, he never told me, I log in and Mon said "Miko you're green" I simply replied with "HOLY FUCK I'M GREEN". The year and a half before that was nice too. I remember the first person who talked to me was Ice and to this day he remains a good friend of mine. I first logged in between the times Meido was on. Either she was taking a break or what. When she logged in and I saw a new looking name then saw she was "Super Moderator" I had no clue what to think other than "who is this person and why is it covered in rainbows"

All in all yes this was meant to be a Christmas present to Walls, not (for lack of a better term) a Coup d'etat. We were painted the villains early on my Ran which I will forever believe to be the core of the problem. If he had never gotten involved this would have gone better. I feel nothing but self shame for ever have insisted on yoinking him into this.

Well there's my 2 cents. Woo *twirls finger*

I can listen to 10 people a once, but unfortunately you are the 11th. Sucks to be you

I agree on the subject of Ran. I didn't want to mention it as I didn't think it was necessary, but you took the pleasure of doing so, so I guess it's safe for me to as well. But yeah, he pretty much ruined everything for us, and I bet his sick-self is proud of it. Made us out to be bad people with bad intentions, can't get much worse than that.

Where do I begin... Well, I suppose I could say that, back when I joined the old server, I was new. The only servers I had been on had all their chests locked. As such, I got banned for taking from chests. Good times... Anyways, I never really got to contribute to the community over there. Might I contribute to this one? To our future!

No whatever, more Reimu!

Anyone and everyone is allowed and encouraged to contribute to our server :P

But yeah, I wonder how long walls has seriously been considering shutting down the server. I'd gotten vibes of it from him as early as spring of 2012 so...

what is a title

I'd like to say something concerning the running of this new server.

More or less, all of us who have recently joined are migrants from Touhoucraft. As a result, our relationships towards each other will remain unchanged. This will include rivalries, distrust, and general hatred of other people. Don't get me wrong, not liking somebody is perfectly fine, but I want this server not to degenerate into the thing that ultimately led to Walls bringing on the Holocaust and then giving up altogether. Take it easy- talking behind people's back is a human nature and can't be eliminated without mods/admins acting like the Third Reich, and that won't be fun for anybody.

Personally, I think Walls did the right thing. If the fights and arguments had been allowed to go on for much longer, the server would have devolved into a shit-slinging fest. I like to think that I had no enemies on the server. Outside and on the computer, I've taken everything that people have called me or done to me in my stride and allow myself to get steamrolled and stepped on to avoid a fight. My home on Touhoucraft has been griefed more than four times, and every time I saw the smoking or burning remnants of what was left, I handed the problem over to a mod, sometimes not even that, and just picked up what was left of my stuff and moved further away.

I realise the server population ranges from people like me to people who can't even take a joke lightly, I ask every one of you to try and understand the virtues of patience, courtesy and forgiveness. Ignore the things said behind your back on the Skype group. Turn over a new leaf towards both friends and enemies and try to forgive and forget. Fighting always never ends well.

Well, being someone who has not been involved in any of this I have my two-cents I'd like to give.

First off, I read the steam thread and all the comments as well as everything here. It's a shame things ended up the way they did, but to me it really seems Walls is just getting tired of maintaining the server and wants to move on and got the perfect excuse to do so.
I also think that whenever a chapter closes another chapter can then begin. Going from one chapter to the next can be painful, but in time things will improve.
I really enjoy Touhou (though not to the extent of some of you) and would love to be a part of this project in some way to build the perfect Gensokyo.
