I want to capture footage from my 3DS XL, because I want to do an LP of Tomodachi Life soon. Not too soon, but soon enough.
Two answers I can't accept are "potato" & "get a famous LPer to come to my house & set it up".
I'm ready to see your responses.

I've heard and read about special video capture cards that can be installed to your 3DS...
but they aren't cheap... Like we're talking in the range of $200-400
Of course the "cheap" way is tripod mounted camera (or some sort of harness that you would wear that allows you to attach a camera on it)
but I don't think that's what you're looking for...
