Mission Control | Scarlet Moon
"I appreciate your concerns." Lilith commented on Diane's suggestions. "But, as a captain of the ship, I personally think it is necessary to relieve some distress in the passengers. Besides, it's no rumor. We ARE going to land here to scout out the area and see if this planet is good enough for permanent settlement."
"Smart mouth." Brick said under his breath so that only he and Mordecai could hear. Mordecai chuckled.
"You're sounding a lot like Roland, Lilith." Mordecai observed.
"Is that a bad thing, now?" Lilith jokingly teased Mordecai, who looked away with a smile.
"No... no, its much preferred this way." Mordecai answered honestly. "So... shall we prepare for landing?"
Lilith looked out into the vast space, silent for a second. A few months ago, she was a vigilante trying to fight off an evil megalomaniac looking to bring a planet to its demise. Back then she didn't know, but living in this cramp, dull ship taught Lilith how burdensome the leader's responsibility is. She didn't want to become like Handsome Jack, but she didn't want to stay passive.
But she wasn't Handsome Jack. And she will bring this team into a better future.
"All crew prepare for landing." Lilith commanded, and the crewmen of the ship began scurrying around the control room. "We descend."
