Venus pouted, crossing her arms and replying in a saddened tone, "I was going to bring you the best tasting fish but fine, if you'd rather have fruits only, that's fine." She smirked, diving into the river to examine the plants at the bottom, collecting a few every now and then. The mermaid was actually diving down to hide her blushing face from Aeneas. She didn't want to admit to even herself that she was the least bit interested in the boy but Venus could not help but feel some sort of feelings towards him. 'That dress suits him well, though I can see everything from here. Long dresses suit him better,' the mermaid thought, picking another plant that was growing between the rocks. She stayed under the water for a bit longer before emerging with her bouquet of plants, holding it out to Aeneas. "Here, I found these between the rocks," she stated bluntly, looking to the water again. "I can search for other things in the water too, like fish or treasures that might have washed up here."

"Some fishes are used as potion ingredients, too." Aeneas informed as he discovered a bush of red berries. Could it be? Closer inspection revealed its identity to Aeneas. "Oh wow... these are Finkleberries! A whole bush of them! They're used for potions that artificially fills your belly; they're great for a long voyage when you have not a lot of food. I heard they are rather rare..."

With renewed hope, Aeneas frolicked through the forest, looking for potion materials. The forest was a treasure trove; allowing him to fill his bucket rather easily. He did not neglect to explain what each potion ingredient did, though.

"This right here is called Sabriel's Tear." Aeneas commented as he crouched near the river, pointing at a pretty purple flower before picking it up. "It may look pretty, but it's really toxic. In fact it is used to make one of the strongest nausea potion in the world."

Venus blinked, tilting her head and nodding along with him. "Those berries are rare? Really?" Her blue eyes trailed off to look at something else, a shiny shell. "Oh! Look, I'll collect shells and make you a necklace! It'll show that you belong to me and the sea." Her smile was genuine enough, though it deflated. "This must have been dropped here... It's not really common to find shells in a river." The mermaid's hair pressed flat against her back as her torso rose halfway above the water. "Do you think we can find everything for a potion out here in the forest?" Tilting her head to the side, she stared at him with curiosity.

"With what I have, I can already brew a simple potion that can boost your energy a bit." Aeneas cheerfully remarked, checking out the water this time. "The water is rather pure too. Purer the water base is, the more successful the potion brewed from it is. There are excpetions though; Corruption Potions require murky, dirty water."

The way Aeneas frolicked in the forest looking for potion ingredients and edible fruits... he really, REALLY looked like a girl. A delicate girl that was captive to Venus, and yet shehe looked rather comfortable. Maybe it was because he was given permission to brew potions and go out looking for the materials.

Venus stared at Aeneas, smiling. "You look so much like a beautiful girl, you know. I really thought you were one back on that ship." Pausing, she smirked, running a hand through her long hair. "What if there was a potion to make you even more feminine, would you make it if I ordered you to?" she joked lightly, giggling a little. "Oh well, what else shall we look for, hm? Or maybe you'd like to join me in the water and I can teach you to swim."

"Feminization potion... I do have all the ingredients from here; but I've never tried brewing it. I'll see to creating it when we go back." Aeneas commented as he looked down at the bucket. It was already full of organic ingredients needed to brew some test potions for Venus to see; anything else he can go to a larger town tomorrow and purchase. Until then, Aeneas was free to peruse in whatever activities he wanted to. Learning how to swim might not be a bad idea... "I guess we could go for a swim, yeah, after we drop these materials back in the cave."

Bell Town | New Leaf Island

10 minutes after the volunteers dissipated to set up traps, a dozen of hardened thugs stormed into the town without much resistance from the militiamen of the town who sheltered themselves in makeshift barracks. The citizens also seemed to have hidden themselves in their houses and shops, doors locked. No matter. If they wanted to, they could just barge inside and snatch away any valuables and kidnap any women for their business.

"Them sheepies all ran and hid themselves, huh?" A particularly burly looking brute grumbled. "Alright boys! Sweep the area clean! If you find any sweet-looking women, snatch them up so that we can sell them as slaves! Four down each alley! Let's go!"

Venus grinned, hearing the boy speak of possibly being able to brew something that she can have him take. 'This will be quite the treat if he makes it correctly... We'll be able to lure both pretty girls and handsome men back to the cave, and I'll be able to see him as a super cute real girl~' the mermaid clasped her hands together tightly, happy with the fact that he'd do something so willingly without a thought. "Ah, perfect! Let's head back right away, I really want you to learn how to swim!" Her tail playfully slashed a bit of water onto him, her smile genuine as she laughed softly. "I still can't believe that there are humans that don't know how to swim! The ocean is all around you, you should be able to swim naturally." She stared at him from the water, a little confused. "Is it not something you know at birth then?"

"No. Of course not. Men are born to sink." Aeneas flatly said as Venus splashed water at him. He didn't really appreciate Venus' plan of using Aeneas' "feminine wiles" to lure possible food for herself, but if it's what it takes for him to stay alive, then too bad...

Aeneas felt the temperature of water. Nice and warm, heated by the sunlight above, but with a degree of coolness as Aeneas felt deeper into the river. With a nod, Aeneas courageously jumped into the river. "Okay... I'm here now. Teach me, Venus. And please don't eat me..."

Venus blinked for a second, shocked that he actually got in with her. "Ah, okay! Let's start with kicking your legs... You need to be able to constantly kick them to stay afloat." This was the first time the mermaid had to teach someone how to swim, and she seemed to be struggling. Swimming is as natural for her as breathing is, and here she has a human who needed to learn how to do something she considered normal. "Uh, uhhm... I think you move your arms like this..." The mermaid made arm movements similar to what the sailors had done. "And you kick and move your arms at the same time. I think you have to kick really hard too..." Her knowledge on human swimming was extremely limited but she really wanted him to learn, one way or another. "Also, I would have eaten you already if I wanted to... I-it's just that you are useful!" she cried out, crossing her arms as she pouted. Though, she said she could have, she's not sure if the only reason she was keeping him was because he is useful.

Aeneas did as he was told, but swimming is easier said than done as his pitiful flailing got him nowhere. Subsequent attempts only resulted in wet hair and swallowed water.

"This is hard." Aeneas observed, but he wasn't the kind to give up so easily. In his mind, Aeneas compared swimming to potion making; except instead of herbs and berries, it was Aeneas' own limbs that acted as the ingredients. He just needs to swing them in a right sequence to swim correctly. "But I can do it. I know I can."

Two hours of intense flailing later, Aeneas finally grasped the basic idea of swimming. He was now able to glide through water, albeit slowly, without drowning or splashing around for help. Now he just needs to practice picking up speed.
