Downtown - Tokyo - Japan

John ran toward the burning building, looking for the Green haired florist.
"Hello? Are you alright?", he called out.

He looked at his HUD radar and saw that there was a person in the building.
He quickly approached, his current objective being set on the survivor.

Kireinahana flower shop, Downtown Tokyo, Japan
Time: 1:07 PM

"Hello? Are you alright?" A husky voice called out the shop. Yuuka got up from her hiding spot and dusted off her skirt.
"I'm fine. You should be worried more about the fox." Yuuka said.
"I was far away from the explosion, so I didn't get affected by the explosion." The fox said. It was evident that she was keeping her distance, with her raised arms and defensive stance. "You, however, was right under the explosion."
"And so I was." Yuuka coldly replied, trying to step out of the shop. "Please do excuse me."
"Where are you going?" The armored man asked. "You think you can leave the situation like this without any explanation?"
"Some goons in suits attacked me, and I retaliated. You were the one who was making more scene than I ever was." Yuuka answered.

*Crash, screams, followed by whistles and gunshots."

"Uh, should we go look at what's going on outside?" Yuuka asked the armored soldier and the vixen. Wordlessly, they walked out of the shop to see an average-looking man with a fiery head throwing telephone booths.

Seeing the girl safe was a relief, yet her coldness wasn´t necessary, "Look, we know those men as much as you do, right now we must leave this place before anything worse happens" Renamon said while taking off some fallen rocks to make a path. Suddenly more gunfight was heard from the outside.

("What is going on out there?") the fox thought as they got out of the shop, then she saw a caricaturistic caucasic average bald man with a creepy smile destroying everything on his path. The situation was going for the worse for every second they spent there and the man was unnaturaly going on a rampage of madness.

Have you ever crossed the line between sanity and madness? You would be amazed by what lies beyond the fog..

On a subway train heading towards Central Park - Manhattan - United States

Snake rode alone in the back car of the R train to Central Park. Weighing his options and possibilities, Snake knew that he had to act quickly and cautiously. Considering that he had been targeted by an organized crime syndicate, the news of the failed assassination would reach whoever planned them quickly. That being said, they were bound to have already, or were in the process or, setting up another ambush, most likely today. Snake assumed that whoever organized these assassinations weren't stupid, persay. They had done the proper intelligence gathering and planning had obviously gone into it. Perhaps they had underestimated his ability to ward off aggressors, but everything else had basically worked like clockwork on their side.

Snake checked his M1911. He had fired more shots in the past several hours than he had in the past three or four months. He had one more magazine remaining and only two rounds in his current mag. Snake switched the two out before re-holstering his gun. His knife, thankfully, had not yet left its sheath today. Hopefully it would stay that way. As the train decelerated to a halt at his stop, Snake tightened the straps holding his knife and flipped his pistol's safety off. As the doors slid open, he walked out and up the stairs. His apartment was close to the train stop as it was along 5th Avenue. Quickly scanning his surroundings for anything particularly suspicious, Snake started off at a light trot towards his complex. Seeing nothing in particular, Snake checked his watch. It read 10am. It was still early in the day so he had time to find a new place for the night.

Reaching his apartment building, he quickly swiped his key, went through the door, and up the stairs. So far, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. So far, so good. Reaching the fifth floor, he jogged out of the stairwell and into the hallway that was furnished with little more than a papyrus cream wallpaper and a floor covered in a cheap red Persian-styled rug. Furnishings aside, he noticed that his room at the end of the hall had something wrong with it. Even from his distance, he could clearly see the door ajar.

This was not good.

Snake pulled out his gun. Though he did not like using his gun in such close vicinity of civilians, he had no way of knowing how many men were in his apartment or what they might be armed with. Snake ran, as silent as a fox, up to his door. Flattening himself against the wall next to his door, he quickly peered in. He couldn't see anyone. What he could see however, was his small apartment room completely trashed with tables flipped and tv smashed. He could not see his kitchen or bedroom from here, but he figured they had met similar fates. Holding his weapon at the ready, he slowly crept into his own apartment. He strained his ears for the slightest movement, but could not hear anything. Just to be safe however, Snake quickly did room checks on the three rooms in his apartment.

Whoever had been in his apartment was no longer here.

Snake sighed in relief as he holstered his weapon. If his pictures on a folder of assassination targets wasn't enough proof, his completely trashed apartment was. He quickly made for a small suitcase he kept hidden between his mattress and and bed. Pulling it out and setting it on the table, Snake opened it up to reveal several items. On top were images that he had taken about two years before the Manhattan Incident. It was an image of him and Hal Emmerich together up at the Great Lakes. Snake wondered what happened to his philanthropist companion that he had come to know as Otacon. Though a year had passed since coming to the real world, Snake had not heard from or about him. Putting the photo down, he gazed at the object that was held beneath the image. His modified Beretta 92F, or the M9. The image and pistol were two important items to him that had been on his body when he was transported into this world. Otacon was like a brother to Snake. Not having heard from him since being teleported, Snake held the single tangible memory of his friend dear. His M9 had kept him alive across three different missions. It was sort of a good luck charm for him. Ever since coming to the real world, he had kept these items in a small suitcase. Putting down the M9 next to the image, Snake looked down at the suitcase again. The third and final item contained within was perhaps his greatest treasure. Taking off his business jacket, Snake looked down at the sneaking suit he used in all of his missions. Upon coming to the real world, Snake had realized that assimilating into the world while wearing a military ops sneaking suit wasn't going to work. Since then, he had saved the three items in this suitcase in case he would one day need them again.

That day seemed to have come for Snake.

Changing into his sneaking suit, Snake threw on a loose pair of jeans and a wind breaker over his top. Holstering both his M1911 and M9 at his sides, he double checked that his knife was still there. Snake went into his bedside drawer to grab several magazines and filled them with ammunition, placing what leftover ammunition he had in a small over-the-shoulder pack. He was thankful that he had bought an extra box tranquilizer rounds. As his M9 was the exact way he had it on his previous mission, the Manhattan Incident, the M9 was still equipped with a suppressor and modified to fire single-shot tranquilizer rounds.

Walking towards his front entrance, Snake knew he would likely never come back to this place. He didn't know where he was going, but he knew that he would likely have to leave New York soon. Having worked as a private detective for almost a year, Snake had made connections. Going through those connections in his head, Snake figured that he should go see one or two of those connections and see what they thought about his situation and whether they could help him out.

Snake set foot outside his door and felt renewed. Adrenaline rushing, Snake knew that though a bit different than his norm, he was back on the battlefield. This was how his life was supposed to be.

Snake was alive.

A dark alley in Chinatown, Manhattan

After paying off the massive debt she had in her hometown, Recette had decided to continue with her shop as she found the merchant life quite enjoyable. Nothing beats the satisfying enjoyment aquired when amassing a large wealth. She has a capitalistic mindset that rivaled those of the most successful businessmen. After the Horizon incident, Recette realized that she has come to a world that has an economy magnitudes greater than the small town she used to work in. Instead of being fazed by this situation, Recette was full of irrepressible excitement. Her eyes beamed with joy at the sight of this new world, filled with riches, ripe for the taking.

Recette had decided to open up a small shop in the dark back alleys in Chinatown, Manhattan. Despite her feeble appearance, her merchanting skills are second to none, and she was able to easily establish a foothold in the undergound society of NYC. The Horizon incident brought many other characters into the world, and it is with these characters that Recette decided to do business with. The black market has become a very lucrative marketplace as many characters were in need of resupplying and repairs.

"Time to open up the shop, today," Recette mutters to herself.

Recette's store is the perfect example of "Do not judge a book by its cover." In the dark, winding, back alleys of Chinatown, her store is the only bright, cheerful place you will see. With its polished wood walls, gleaming window showcases, and colorful flower vases, the store's appearance does not reflect the items that it contains. The appearance, however, does reflect Recette's optimistic and cheerful nature.

Although it does not seem like it, this store is one of the best places in the city to supply yourself before an assassination, mercenary contract, or anything else that requires weapons. Though still in its early stages, Recette only has the most basic items in stock (items that you would start games with). She has yet to supply specific, high-grade items, but will start to do so once regular customers are in need of them. Recette has also gone through intensive learning to gain a vast knowledge of all weapons so she could repair them if needed.

Recette goes to the front of the store and flips around the sign on the entrance from "Closed" to "Open". She returns to her seat behind the front counter and patiently waits for the customers to arrive.

"I wonder what new events will happen today," she hopefully wonders.

(Recette's Armory is now open. Capitalism, Ho!)

The seemingly-average man was throwing cars, telephone booths, and other heavy objects at Japanese policemen, who tried to suppress the man down to no success. The man was in the middle of the street, terrorizing the civilians: pedestrians and drivers alike. The flower shop was right outside the intersection where the average-looking man was rampaging.

"What should we do?" Yuuka asked the armored soldier, who looked more trustworthy and easy-to-reach-to than the passive vixen.
"It is my duty as the supercop to deal with a menace like him." The armored soldier responded and quickly dashed to assist the police.

(I haven't posted because I've been trying to figure out if Dad is bulletproof, resistant, or is affected normally. An answer would be much appreciated.)

Downtown - Tokyo - Japan

"What should we do?"
"It is my duty as the "supercop" to deal with a menace like him."

As John sprinted toward the deranged man, he started thinking up different scenarios, trying to find a weakness to exploit.

(Is he bulletproof? How fast can he move? We'll just have to see...)

He slammed into the strange man at about 30 mph, knocking the telephone booth out of his hands.

Looking that the bald man was risking the lives of the people, Renamon followed the armored man to fight the madman in front of them.

The armored man snatched the telephone boot from the smiling guy and the fox took her chance to attack hitting the man´s chest with both of her palms sending him to a wall. feeling her hands Renamon said "His body feels normal, but doing all of this destruction and even more resisting a crush to a wall? what is this guy made of?". The man was getting up from the rubble caused by the crash his smile still unmoving. The vixen was on her stance prepared for what the smiling man could do.

"We need a plan, this man is something else, but no human" Renamon said outloud so the armored man could hear her.

"We need a plan, this man is something else, but no human"

John stopped to come up with a battle plan. (He seems to be bullet resistant. I need a better weapon...)
He looked around, and saw one of the nearby shops sold hardware and barbecue equipment.

"Hold him off for a moment.", he said as he ran towards the store.

Somewhere in downtown Manhattan - Manhattan - United States

Snake was alive. He had not felt this since infiltrating the Discovery along the Hudson River or infiltrating the oil plant which had housed the Patriot's secret Arsenal Gear. The first place Snake wanted to head to was an informant and ex-PLA soldier who lived down in Chinatown. One certain Chu Min that he had worked with several months prior while tracking several neo-triad members. Taking the subway to downtown Chinatown, Snake got off and went back above ground. The air was thick with various fragrances - food, incense, fresh seafood, and various other unidentifiable scents. Snake could hear the faint sound of oriental music coming from somewhere in the distance. Looking around him, he saw many street stalls displaying varying goods from handmade children's toys to live toads in a bucket. Though Snake could have spent a day looking through the various goods in the area, he had a destination.

Snake quickly brushed aside any urges to indulge in consumerism and made his way to a store that doubled as a house several streets down. After walking for a minute, he came to a street stall with an elderly woman selling second-hand clothing. The woman recognized Snake, nodded, and looked towards the inside of the house-shop. Snake bowed his head slightly in thanks and proceeded into the house. The first floor of the building acted mostly as storage for the wares that were sold at the shop. Walking through the various boxes of clothing, Snake found his way to the back of the first floor where a flight of stairs were located. Before going up, Snake called out up the stairs.

*** "Mr. Min! Are you around? It's Snake!"

*** "My god, I haven't heard a word from you in weeks!" A voice cried out as the sound of footsteps were heard above Snake.

Snake proceeded to walk up the stairs as Mr. Min came into view at the top of the stairs.

*** "It's good to see you again, Mr. Min." Snake greeted as the elderly man welcomed Snake and led him to his study. His study was a small room filled to the brims with books in various languages on one side. He could see Mandarin, English, French, Japanese, German, and other major languages - all of which Snake knew himself. Opposite of that wall was a giant weapon rack stacked with weapons. Though Mr. Min may appear old and slow, he still knew how to operate weapons. Snake took a seat on a small wooden chair.

*** "And you too! Have any neo-triad members been giving you trouble lately?" Mr. Min chuckled.

*** "No, but I'm actually here for another reason." Snake answered.

*** "Oh?"

*** "To make things brief..." Snake explained his current dilemma and his wanting of any additional information that might affect him.

Mr. Min sat with his hands on his chin for a moment. He was obviously filtering and thinking of information relevant for Snake. Though Snake and Mr. Min had only worked officially over the course of a couple of weeks, both men had somehow found each others company enjoyable and so had continued contact after Snake's case had been solved.

*** "Honestly, you seem to be in quite the pinch, Mr. Snake." Mr. Min remarked. "My first suggestion would probably be to check out a shop that opened up in Chinatown. It's run by another Character, actually. Most people just refer to it as Recette's Armory. It's run by a young girl but she stocks many items that other Characters need and can't find in regular places. No one really knows where she stocks her items though, interestingly enough."

*** "An armory?" Snake questioned. An armory didn't seem like something a young girl would run.

*** "Well, it's called an Armory but she really sells anything. It's an interesting shop. A lot of Characters go there so she might know a few things I don't know. She might also know other people you might have interest in meeting."

Snake absorbed the information that was given to him by Mr. Min. Shopkeepers did tend to know a lot of random bits of information from overhearing small talk and the like. With nowhere in mind to go to at the moment, Snake figured he should take any suggestions he got.

*** "I think I'll go check that shop out, then. Where is it?" Snake inquired. He had set his mind on gathering what bits of information he could.

*** "You'll want to go a bit farther downtime. You know the street where the two seafood stalls are right next to each others? It's two shops down from those two. It looks rather run down, but you'll know it's the right place if you take a single peek inside. You'll know what I mean." Mr. Min chuckled.

*** "Alright. Thanks for the information, Mr. Min!" Snake thanked as he got up from his seat.

*** "Before you go, take this." Mr. Min said almost as an afterthought. He walked over to the weapon rack on one side of the walls. However, instead of grabbing one of the weapons placed on the rack, he pushed away some books that were piled beneath it and grabbed a box. Opening the box, he pulled out a intricately designed pen.

*** "What is that?" Snake asked.

*** "This is quite the amusing find. One of my men took it off of a guy he killed. It can store up to three 9mm rounds, has a high powered laser capable of cutting through steel, a holographic GPS and map system, as well as a, get this, an MP3 player." Mr. Min beamed. "I don't know why the last one, but I think this could come quite in handy for you. In all fairness however, the MP3 player can sync with the nanomachines in your ear and also acts as what was once your Codec."

*** "My codec? You know about it?"

*** "I played through your games." Mr. Min chuckled again.

Snake grinned as he took the high-tech piece of equipment into his hands and examined it. Testing it, Snake synced it with his nanomachines. It seemed that the holographic GPS and map system also functioned as a keypad as a number pad popped up, giving Snake the option to make calls. Putting the device into his pocket, Snake turned back towards Mr. Min

*** "I think it'll come quite in handy, Mr. Min." Snake agreed. "I'm going to go check out that shop you mentioned earlier and see what I can find out from here. Again, thanks for the help."

*** "Don't worry about it. Make sure you drop by or give a call if you get a chance!" Mr. Min laughed as he guided Snake back towards the stairs he had come up.

Exiting the front entrance, Snake checked his watch again. It read 12pm - noon. Snake still had plenty of time. He turned southwards and started to walk.
