    A dream about Lunasa Prismriver

This is a dream i had last night about Lunasa. (A character that i don't know well)
A dream so out of the blue and so intense that i felt to share it on the spam-box ...for the lulz.

The broken violin and the comb.
I was in a small room filled with a cloudy weather atmosphere and then, on the parquet floor, i saw a weird looking broken violin near to an azure comb.
I started playing the broken violin with the comb for some reason and the most incredible thing about it was the fact that i could play every kind of music with it even if I’ve never played a violin or even touched any musical instrument in my whole life.
After that i start playing a lot of songs around the city.
(A lot of songs that i can't remember, in a city that I’ve never seen before).

After a while, in a dark-brown warehouse, i saw her.
    Lunasa Prismriver.
She fixed my broken violin and after that i wasn't able to play anything anymore.
At first I didn't care about that and my only desire was to talk to her instead.
I even tried to impress her playing the violin but then i realized that i couldn't anymore.
...so close but yet so far.
    After that i woke up.
    It was pretty intense.

Is this that moment of my life when you realize that you should take a break from Touhou for a little while ?

A little rough sketch about my dream:

I am going to break my silent rule regarding the spambox by posting here. Why? Well, I actually had a Touhou dream rather recently and, as a matter of fact, I am an oneiromancer (in training) so this greatly interests me.
I was dreaming about one of my favourites, Patchouli, and my attempts to get her to like me. It was strange but at the same time, I understood what was happening and what it was trying to say. Following Christmas, this dream has an even greater meaning to me than before.
Here is an extract about it from my dream journal:
Originally posted by TRXD in his dream journal.

This includes her strictly going to a female-only library. (How my mind created that concept, I do not know.)
I cannot remember much about the start of the dream but I do recall the end of it. Patchouli and I were attending a meeting at a school. During this meeting, I continue my attempts to socialise with her but she ignores me. During the meeting, two seemingly hostile people sit beside myself and Patchouli. I successfully convince one of them to leave but the other one refuses to leave myself and Patchouli alone. I attempt to leave and convince Patchouli to come with me but she refuses to leave.
I then sneak out of the school and I end up outside a basketball court. The court had some railings surrounding it. I notice that Patchouli was in the basketball court. I call out to her and try to gain her attention. She approaches me and I try to reason with her. She then ridicules me numerous times and interrupts what I am saying. Eventually I give up trying to talk to her and I let go of the railings.
    I woke up.
As an oneiromancer, I could quickly work out its meaning and I'm sure some others can too. My dream was about my attempts to get to know a certain someone and my fears that she would reject me. It was a message that I was either trying too hard or that I would soon fail in my attempts. Following Christmas, this has left a larger impact upon myself as I feel that the latter has come true. But how do I know this? How could I tell that my dream meant that? Well, Patchouli is the one Touhou character who interests me the most and is the one that I would want to be friends with and get to know. Easily I could make the connotations and work it out.
As for your dream, Strongest, I can imagine it has something to do with companionship. Much like mine. You may have to give me some time to work it out and post my findings.

Also, for people asking, yes. I have a dream journal. It helps me refine my skills in oneiromancy by recording as much of my dreams as possible and finding out their meanings.

Ahhh, the wonder of dreams. Altough I don't study dreams as far as TRXD do, I have tried lucid dreaming a few times. I always break it when I realize that it's a dream tough so my attempts are kind of failed. I do am good at remembering dreams. I think I once remembered about 5 dreams from a single night. Unlike many I have a much harder time forgetting dreams and if I don't remember it when I wake up, it doesn't mean that I have forgotten it. It may well be that I can start to remember it about I day after I had the dream. When that does happen tough there is still many things that I don't remember.

      @TRXD

The reason that you don't remember the beginning is that dreams usually don't have beginnings. You just appear and act. That doesn't mean that a dream can't appear to have a beginning, for example because it's a really long dream. I once had a dream that went on for about 3 days in detail, from when I woke up to when I fell asleep. I then woke up from the dream for a few minutes, checked the clock and things like that. I then went to sleep again and continue on the same dream. That happened once more too. Another annoying thing was that the dream was near perfectly made. There were nothing I could point at and say, that's only like that because this is a dream. It did get more unstable as I woke up so it was easier to realize, but still very few flaws.

As for how you brain manages to come up with a female only library and why you don't question it? The brain can do all sorts of things when you are asleep. It no longer operates on normal logic. Anything can make sense in a dream. When you see something that is not logical, your brain will tell you that it is logical no matter what. Basically, your brain tries to keep you in the dark about the fact that it is a dream.
      Born in the light.
      Molded in the dark
      .

      Never Forget,
      Keep Fighting.
      –Don't Forget.
      Always, somewhere,
      someone is fighting for you.
–As long as you remember her,
      you are not alone.

Although I do know the basic concept of dreams, that right there is something that I did not know. Kind of embarrassing when this is something that I should have known. When I look into dreams, I rather more look into their concepts and ideas rather than the psychological and scientific standpoints. Although I do very easily go into the psychological aspects when I am trying to understand its meaning and how it applies to the dreamer's circumstances.
I do understand that various aspects of logic do not apply in dreams but it's usually within some form of reason. The fact that my dream had female-only libraries was because my mind needed some means to show Patchouli being able to get away from me. As Patchouli is avidly into books and that I am male, my mind chose the option of making a female-only library. Rather clever and interesting, if you ask me. More often than not, these seemingly nonsensical aspects tend to have some reason behind it. This is also true in Strongest's case. A broken violin, or even a fully functioning one, would not be playable in any way with a comb. (I should know. I used to play the violin as a kid.) But the reason that Strongest's mind showed it was to reinforce the message and meaning behind the dream.

        @Strongest
After some thought, I have come to a few conclusions. But some of them do need work and others needed clarification and approval from you before they can be shared. I do believe that your dream has a lot to do with companionship but my view on it can be rather embarrassing. If you're fine with me sharing it despite what it might do and/or imply, then just PM me and I'll share my findings.

          I'm okay with it.
You have my permission. Those kind of things are pretty interesting to me.

I think it has to do with art. Because Music can be considered a form of art...

Something that was better broken than fixed...

Was there a piece of art you had that you changed and then regretted making the change as it seemed better before you fixed it?

Well that happen all the time but it might be for something very important this time so... probably.

Here is my findings on the dream. I have already shared this with Strongest so it's perfectly fine.

The dream seems to reflect your desires for companionship. Maybe even love. The violin seems to represent your heart and your soul. Broken because it is lonely and unused. The music being played by that broken violin might represent your call for someone to find you and be your friend or even more. You wander around a large city playing your music because you are searching all over for someone to find. Like busking for money or for fame, you play the violin to find someone who will notice you and respect you for who you are and not what you are. The numerous songs that you play might represent that you are changing your style and how you act in order to find different kinds of people. Lunasa seems to represent your ideal person. As she is a violinist, it makes perfect sense that she would be in this dream. She is the one who understands you, your violin. Her act of fixing your violin is a way of saying that you have found that certain someone. The one who can fix your broken heart. The reason why couldn't play it anymore afterwards was because it was the dream's way of saying "You have already found that certain someone. You don't need to play it anymore." But this is rather odd as I would imagine that the fixed violin would play an even greater sound than the broken one. So the only way to explain why the fixed violin does not play would be that reason. The dream ends right there because either you were forced awake or that the dream had all that it had show you and no more. It could have continued and you could have tried to talk to Lunasa but your mind didn't want to go to that stage so the dream ended there and you woke up.

In summary, I think that your dream is trying to tell you that you are lonely and might want to consider finding someone out there. Your Lunasa. The dream ends as you try to talk to her because you need to take the steps yourself.

Much like what I explained in the thread, your mind will alter various concepts or even create new ones with your memories and knowledge to get its point across. I can imagine that if I had a dream almost exactly like yours, it would have me using Laevateinn or holding a book while searching for Flandre or Patchouli.

Unfortunately there isn't much else except for a few ideas like that you specifically desire to be with Lunasa and not just some ordinary person or that you want to extend your talents to music instead of just art. Much like Cucoo's (deleted) idea, I also had a theory that your broken violin is a representation of your art style or even your art work and that the comb was your pen or brush. It was very similar to my main idea.

Maybe it's just me but I don't think my dreams mean anything. Most of my dreams involve random events that could or could not happen and some reason I try to fit them together.

I like the idea that during dreaming the mind reruns emotions and speculates events while the visual part tries to make sense of it. Of course my dreams don't seem to have any symbolic sense. It if means something, it's painfully obvious. Of course I'm not the most artistic so I guess that is how it ends up.
