Well hello there!
I recommend putting away/turning off all digital devices, such as smart phones and computers, two hours before bedtime.
- In the first hour you could prepare for bed, eat some food, brush the teeth, etc.
- In the next hour, you could read a book*, or some activity that does not include digital devices/screens that emit light.
It is important to stay away from computers, etc. especially the smart phone, because the light would disturb the natural sleep rythm. (if that's a thing)
I put my phone away in the other end of the room, flight mode enabled,
everything else turned off except the alarm. (don't need online when body needs sleep)
Would also be a good idea to wake up at a set time, every day,
regardless of weekend/holiday or school day;
and don't forget to stay away from alcohol as long as possible.
I try to do this myself, but my, it is not easy. It will pay off in the long run though, so make sure to try it out! :)
* three books I read (yes, all at the same time (no, not really))
"The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien
"And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie
"A Geek in Japan" by Héctor García
Edit: No, I seriously do not think it is "a good idea to stay up THIS late". Based from recent personal experience.
