I've noticed a lot of people like to do the defense-based events in Kagome and various places, and since everyone does very well in keeping the peace amongst the cities I've been able to go on a pilgrimage for the towns and now Kagome has a blessing you can achieve during the events or even during anytime you want. simply walk to the shrine in Kagome and you should get your blessing after a little bit.
(Disclaimer: this isn't a true blessing or buff, but it will make defense events more of a challenge if that's your cup of tea. the "buff" lasts 5 minutes or until you die assuming you die within 5 minutes)
