Minecraft Launcher Problem

Not 100% sure if this is where this goes but I will move it if it needs to be but I have been having some problems with my normal minecraft launcher so I can't use it for some reason do to java yet sadly i do not know java script and nobody i know personally knows it ether so I'm putting this here to see if anybody here could possible help me and this is what shows up each time i start up the launcher.

Minecraft Launcher Problem

Ok uhm which version of Java you usin?
7 or 8?

Ok nvm you have Java 7.
Try getting Java 8 but don't get rid of 7.
I actually don't know if that would do anything...
All I know is that's the set up I have.

i can't find java 8 on the java site even though im on windows 7 could you possibly help me find it?

ok never mind found a way to work around it by editing the target of a shortcut so this has done its part ^^ so it will need to be closed correct?
