    Good free antivirus software?

I've been using avast virus protection for the longest time, but recently had to uninstall it because it wasn't allowing me to play one of my games. (would not launch when i pressed play) I had to reinstall the game just to get it to work again (the game is 30+ gigs) and i'd rather not suffer through something like this again.

Does anyone know a good antivirus program i could use?

Darn it, I was gonna say avast! I don't really know a good one.
    No whatever, more Reimu!

From what I saw, these are the alternatives, listed based on protection

Wouldn't recommend AVG; considering their past.
Malwarebytes is god tier, but you need to pay for the constant protection; unless you enjoy running the program every day to scan.
Don't know about Spybot, I've used the old versions and it was decent enough.
Zone Alarm and BitDefender are two I've never tried.
Cloud Antivirus is more aimed towards cloud based computers.

I reccommend Avast or Avria. The only gripe I have about Avast is that it sometimes detects some files as viruses; but that's pretty much universal with every AV. Avira, however, is technically better and has less false positives, but it has this annoying advertisement crap that you sometimes can't close.
My software doesn't have bugs. It just develops random features.

Do you have a hour emergency call systems broadcasting radio station WNYW or Internet Explorer?
          Well? Which one?

That was pretty much my problem with avast. Blocked something on tera.exe so i couldn't push the play button on the launcher aka could not play the game. Anyone who knows how big Tera is would know why it kinda pissed me off that i had to re-download it.

Can't you just turn off the shield?

I've been using trend micro and when it detects something and is a false positive, theres a restore/unblock and add to exceptions function.
...I would assume that this would be almost standard across the board and therefore would find it odd if Avast didn't have something similar.

i feel like avast has been better than most of my other virus protectors, if anything just find a way to stop the program from interfering (should be simple maybe it can solved with google?)

if not i might take a look i do understand the whole "file being a virus" thing
