After a while though, i was thinking about wanting to make it a little bit different, more demonic-ish, with fire and lava, so i ended up updating it to look like this.
aaand after all this was ready, i decided that i want to make a background story for it (because i love backstories for everything)
so here is the first version of the backstory ive made:

The Void Gate
Long time ago, there was a large torii used as an altar for the twin goddesses of fire and water.
Many people would visit the altar daily to pray and receive the blessing of the goddesses.
The surroundings of the altar were filled with grass and flowers, it used to be a beautiful area, getting visitors from all around the world.
However, an unknown man from unknown land visited the altar at midnight, carrying a magical book filled with sacred incantations. The maidens at the altar were murdered and their blood was spilled at the middle of the torii, serving as the solution for the incantation that caused the altar to get corrupted and demonic, the ground shattered and appeared to have bottomless hole starting from the center, where the book was used.
This event started a bloody war against the creatures from the void, it lasted for five years, until the spellcasters of the land were able to create a protective shield around the torii, preventing the creatures from coming to our world.
Everyone in the vicinity of the altar either got their minds twisted or were sucked in to the void. It is unknown whetever the mysterious man got himself killed during this event, or whetever the void was supposed to appear the way it did, but the book still remains, floating at the center of the event, opening itself to everyone with enough magical power. Till this day, the corruption around the torii increases slowly and absolutely no one is allowed to go near it.
