I can't get on the forums with my Phone anymore.

Today when I tried to get on the forums with my iPhone, It kept redirecting me to weird women's health sites. The forums would pop up and then send me to "Good Housekeeping" or "Fit Mom Daily" Not to mention every time since we updated the forums the stupid add for Tapatalk keeps coming up. I tried Tapatalk once and It was incredibly confusing and hard to use. I'm confused as to why we support the damn thing in the first place. I would really like to be able to use the forums on my phone again if at all possible.

That's exactly what I'm getting redirected to on my computer when I try to navigate the forums! So it isn't just me... I even get the exact same "Fit Mom Daily" site... Seriously the hell?

Well at least I know I'm not alone... hopefully Remi or someone can fix this...

Working fine for me. As for the Tapatalk, don't know what version you tried, but the UI have gotten increasingly bad. The good thing tough with tapatalk is that I don't have to constantly resize and move my screen to see what's written. It also cuts down on internet usage a bit by only loading essential parts.

You're not the only one with these problems, Shmi. SUSTIC has been having redirect issues too. Earlier, he was getting redirected to a non-specific news site but now he's being redirected to the exact same sites as you.

A quick fix is to simply delete one's cookies but that only makes it briefly go away. It appears that there's a fault to this site which is causing people to be redirected. Reminds me of the redirect issue I used to have on an old site that I regularly went. For a given session on said site, I would be redirected to a porn site once and only once (the problem would not reoccur until another day or after a given number of hours had passed). That issue has since been sorted though.

I think that either the forums have an issue, vBulletin has a vulnerability, there's a malicious ad on the site, or there's a virus going around. If the former two are true, Remi will most likely have to look into by either down/upgrading the forums or by fix the issue himself. If the third is true, we will have to investigate as to what ad may be causing it.

I hope it's not a virus T^T

Just in case, I'm using an Android (Samsung Galaxy S4), and the forums work fine for me. I do get a giant "TAPTALK" application ad something-y, but nothing as huge as getting redirected elsewhere...

Tried using the browser on mine. It loaded up the forum just fine then eventually this happened.


P.S. Only happens if you leave it alone for x amount of time on the "home page" of the forums

I think I'm seeing a pattern here. But we need a couple more guys to prove it.

My idea, now that I'm seeing more of this, is this:

A malicious ad is spreading through Google Ads BUT this ad is localised to only Americans (because Google localises ads and all). Why do I say this? Look at who has claimed to be affected and unaffected.

Katrix, Leon, Diabolo48, and I have all claimed to be unaffected. We're all Europeans.
SUSTIC, Shmi, and Cucoo have all claimed to be redirected. They're all Americans.

I can't say just yet but this seems like a malicious ad more than any of my other ideas. Of course, we can't say that just yet until we look into this in further detail.

Well, Im using a phone at the moment and there hasn't been a problem at all, just the normal ads on the bottom of the page
