Valerie paced up and down the hall for the past few minutes, wondering if she should really leave Anthony. They haven't even been together for much more than a month, let alone live like they used to. She was startled by Avi's sudden voice from below and confirmed her decision. Valerie cracked the door to her room and peered inside to find Anthony asleep on the bed. She relaxed and slowly closed the door again, before treading down the steps.
"Here I am." Valerie greeted Avi near the base of the staircase. "Tony insisted on staying because he believes he'd just get in the way."

Valerie closed their door and sat on the bed. Anthony sat next to her.

"There's nothing to worry about Val, I won't get hurt.' Anthony told his sister with a reassuring face. "As long you're here, nothing bad can happen. I was also fine by myself before you got here."

"You were lucky back then. We were both lucky. The men that chased us didn't have any guns, but if they did, they didn't use them. We might not be as fortunate against the person we're after, and I can't protect us with just these powers, especially against other deis. That's why, you're staying here."

Anthony's smile faded and he nodded silently.

Valerie got up and headed for the door. "I'll try to come back when we have Deus or when I know enough for us to live without worrying about getting in trouble. If you need anything, ask the owner. Just don't go outside the library, okay?"

"Okay... Come back soon Valerie, it's lonely without you."

"I know." Valerie said before leaving.

Valerie took Anthony to the staircase and turned to face Avi. "Hey, I'm sorry for being meddlesome, I didn't know it was like that... We'll be in one of the rooms upstairs, I needed to talk to Anthony about something anyways. Just...call us down when you're ready." Valerie continued up the stairs and beckoned Anthony to follow. He quickly did so as they headed into their room.

"So um, how did you end up in Fantasia, Joel?" Valerie asked after a period of silence.

"I can understand how to create objects and what not, but how is imagining up living beings, with personalities and feelings possible?" Valerie questioned.

Valerie looked into the distance. She could see the library coming into view. "Why do you keep referring to this guy as 'Deus' and not 'a deus'.

"Oops, I forgot to mention that Joel said the guy's name was 'The Deus'." Anthony told his sister. "I bet he can fly and teleport and shoot lase-"

"Tony, could you not say things like that right now?" Valerie interrupted. "Though he could probably fly. I can make these chains, so there shouldn't be anything stopping him from growing wings. Say, you two have any clue of what he can actually do?"

"We're going after a Daemon right? Are they the one I'm supposed to learn from? Or are we attracting that one Deus you said sometimes comes to keep the peace?" Valerie asked.

The siblings began to follow Joel and Avi.

"So, what happens if this person doesn't feel like helping?" Valerie asked them.

"So we're gonna take on a Daemon... Those are like the bad Deis, right? How dangerous will it be?" Valerie unconsciously looked to Anthony.

"I bet we'll go to their hideout, then ambush them from the shadows. They won't even see us coming."

There was a long pause after the two introduced themselves to Valerie and Anthony. Anthony waited impatiently next to Valerie. Valerie was looking around, wondering what to say next, when her eyes found what Joel and Avi were looking at.

"Oh, my chains. I'm sorry for not explaining why they glow. I believe they're tied to my emotions." Valerie held up her chains. "Well they're blue now because I'm calm, and they get cold too. And when I'm angry, they turn red and get hot. When we're running from someone, I make myself scared so they turn black and conceal noises, but we also head into the shadows to hide."

"Hey, do you think they'll turn pink if you're embarrassed or green if you're jealous Val?" Anthony questioned his sister. "Also, can I feel them? You've only let me feel them when they're black."

"No Tony. If it's too cold, you might get sick, and if it's too hot, it might burn you." Valerie told her brother before looking back at the others. "So uh, I'm curious. If you two share a name, does that mean you're married, or related?"
