Part 3: No Mercy To Anyone; Otori
I was walking along, not minding the huge crowds, swinging along my bat.
All of a sudden, I see a man talking to a lady.
"Who the hell was that man?!"
"I'm telling you, he's just a friend!" The lady was on the verge of tears.
"I don't give a rat's ass who that was! Why the hell were his lips touching yours?!"
"I'm sorry, but it wasn't what it looked like!!!"
"Then what the hell was it then?!"
"I... I... I'm sorry!!!"
I would originally ignore it. But then the man slapped the girl.
"Dammit, I don't care how sorry you are, bitch!!!"
The woman couldn't speak. She was choked on her tears.
"ANSWER ME, YOU WHORE-"
"I think you've done enough damage."
I interrupted him.
"Who the hell are you? Don't you see I'm talking to a two timing bitch right now?"
"Yes, I can. But bitch doesn't deserve to be slapped across the face."
"Oh yea? I'll give you what
you deserve!"
He pulled out a switch-blade knife. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it so hard that he dropped the knife.
The woman spoke. "Barry... why..."
"Why do you think?! I was gonna kill a bitch today!!!"
I gave a chop to his neck. He dropped unconscious.
"... Barry..."
"Relax. He's only knocked out."
I picked up the knife.
"Hmm... this will do very fine in my arsenal."
The woman slowly stood up.
"I... I don't understand how he..."
"What happened."
"Well, I was going to a friends house-"
"Liar. I learned how to tell if someone was lying."
"... o... okay. He was my..."
"Other man?"
"..."
"Proceed."
"Well, we were having a good time. Then, things led to another and we just made out. Then suddenly, Barry comes in out of nowhere into the house, even though I told him to pick me up 2 hours later."
I searched Barry's body. I felt something in his pocket. I pulled it out to reveal a music box.
"That's... the music box I always wanted..."
I read the note aloud that was attached to it.
"To Linda: this is what I saved up for. I got you this. I know how much you wanted it. Happy anniversary. Barry."
At this point the girl remained silent.
"He did this for you and you do this to him. Of course he would try to kill you. His emotional stress was forcing him to do it. People like you..."
I threw the box in the air.
"... make me sick to my stomach."
I smashed the box. The girl began crying.
"It's best on all of us that you go. I'll make this man rest in peace. If you don't go... You're going out too."
The woman ran for her life. I shot a wall. I could hear the woman crying hard.
I woke the man.
"Hmm... what...? You-"
"Calm down. You're safe. I didn't intend on making you suffer."
"Ugh... Where's Linda?"
"That's the thing. She's the one I wanted to make suffer. I saw that music box. It was for her, wasn't it."
"... it was... just destroy it! I don't want to see it again!" The man shed a tear.
"I already did. don't worry about payback. I convinced her that I shot you. She'll be living in grief for the rest of her life."
"... I... can't... but what... what if she was right?"
"I'm sorry... but you were right about your suspicions."
"... I'm gonna go home."
He began walking away.
"Hey." I cried out.
He stopped. I walked over to him and handed him two hundred dollars.
"Those were one of the expensive ones, right? Take it. I have so much I don't even know what to do with it."
I walked away.
"And don't kill anyone either. It's over. The grief will do it all for you. On her and her 'friend.'"
I walked away.
I don't show any mercy. Not to anyone.
