Extremely rare since there's a lot of things at play here. Aircraft strength, hit location, upgrades, speed... Most of the time, both aircraft would just snap in where they're hit. Hitting a B-17, for example, usually has the B-17 as the more likely survivor of the collision. That was one of the few times it actually worked and Karu came out without a scratch.

The aircraft is the Ki-43 Hayabusa.

iirc katanas are made of nippon steel. The aircraft are not.

Any aircraft can do it to some degree...
For example: Me-410, a bomber hunter, is one of the few aircraft where ramming is a viable option. It's that sturdy of an aircraft. It doesn't exactly katana wing... More like tackle and destroy.
