When you put it like that, I understand what you mean. I never really thought so, because I haven't played much Zelda games. And I kind of missed the overworld aspect in that way.

And MegaMooseJam, is Heroes of Lagaard really that fun? I played EO 1 first, then started 2 until I got to the 2nd Stratum and then decided I didn't like it, and went on to 3.
I still don't know why I don't like it, but I tried playing it again some time ago, and it still doesn't seem very appealing.
If you like that kind of game, you might want to check out SMT: Strange Journey too if you haven't already. I haven't gotten far in it, but it seems pretty fun so far.

      @ Nitori

Aye, once ya become a real veteran of the series, you'll start to despise the lack of being able to roam freely. (Dammit Skyward Sword! Y U NO LET ME EXPLORE THE SURFACE WORLD FREELY?!? WHY DO I NEED TO GO UP TO SKYLOFT OVER AND OVER?!?)

Anyway, ya. I started in the Zelda series with OoT and MM. Those two are probably the two games that defined the 3D Zelda games in general for anyone that plays the series. OoT became the main center of the series as well, though you can also say ALttP is also that.

I'm more-or-less just in love with the classes from EO1 and 2.
And 2 made Hexers and Ronin epic, while adding in the very cool Gunners and War Magi.
It was also the only one that I was able to kill the Dragons in before I decided to move on to another game, so it kinda has a special place in my heart.
(Though I've still never beat an Etrian Odyssey Super Ultra Mega Boss. So sad.)

I do like 3 a lot, but it took me a while to get used to the new classes.
If you ever get your hands on a 3DS, Nitori, EO4 is a must buy.
(There's also Untold: The completely rebalanced remake of EO1.)

I wanted to play Strange Journey way back when, but more stuff kept coming up.
I've got too many RPGs collecting dust right now...
Soul Hackers, SMT4, Etrian Odyssey Untold, wait for me! I haven't forgotten you!
(Stupid Pokémon X being too fun to put down at the moment.)

They new classes aren't that hard to get used to;pretty much everything works as long as you build them well. My team consists of a G/M, H/N, Z/G, W/B and a M/P, and I'm able to beat anything the game throws at me without having too much trouble.

I suggest trying Primevil if you own EO1. He's almost static, and the whole fight is just trial and error from there.

I do want to buy a 3DS, but my parents won't let me... same with consoles. If I every get one though, I'll be sure to remember that.

My team is almost entirely different. B/G and H/P up front, with A/G, Z/N, M/P in back.

B/G is set up for multiple hits that all have stun chance
H/P is set up for buffs and Ad Nihilo
A/G is set up for big hits and just a bit of elemental coverage
Z/N is set up for elemental coverage and Shadow Clone
M/P is set up for HP recovery

Probably not the most efficient team (also lacking a Binder...)
but they were too cute to ignore! >.<

Seems like a pretty good team though.

Mine focuses mostly on dealing elemental damage through boosted physical+elemental attacks (Breakfire Fist and Freezing Blow), with the G/M and Z/G buffing attack and attacking, the H/N using Bunshin, covering and using items, the W/B lowering enemy defense, and using items (and binds against the Elder Dragon), and the M/P buffing and healing the rest of the team and debuffing the enemy with Ad Nihilo, Party Heal and Monarch March.
I managed to beat everything except for the Abyssal God with it up until now, and I suspect that AG is just trial and error, really.

If you use elements a lot, does that mean you have your W/B chase as well?
It seems like your team can pile on the damage like that.
I'm thinking I outta retire someone and grab a Wildling, they seem like the best class to fill the void left by the missing Hexer...

                Gah!
You got Etrian Odyssey stuck in my brain.
Now I gotta fight the urge to pick up 3 and start playing again.

The Mario game for NES was Super Mario Bros (1964)
unless your talking about New Super Mario Bros (2006) that was for the DS.

                    Please tell me you just had the title confused and not the console T3T;

It fascinates me how many people are listing LoZ TP here.
Just a curious observation I has made.
                            Of all the Zeldas...Twilight Princess...

Hardly would I ever contradict myself when it comes to that.
But the reason i find it fascinating is because of all the zeldas, TP is imo more cinematic in nature and more action oriented unlike its ancestors.
