The slayer was both surprised, but a bit impressed at the reaction time of these creatures as his own thunderbolt was deflected right back at him and due to his previous action of charging forward, he was struck dead on.

However while it get the man to stop his charge, it didn't seem to do much damage to him as he then began spinning his spear in front of him, using it's properties to redirect the electricity up towards the sky.

"I have to give it to you, you guys in particular are annoyingly fast." He said as he quickly took aim at the second creature. and after a very brief moment of charging energy into his spear, he pointed it at the beast, firing an orb of explosive ball lightning at it. This attack however wasn't going to be too powerful, it was just a distraction as he then began focusing deeply, charging energy into his weapon before tossing it high into the air like a javelin where it seemed to disappear. However as he did the sky began to crackle and boom with thunder and lightning that was getting more intense by the moment.

The second simply strode around the sphere, the shrapnel from the blast barely even phasing it as it began to contort it's hands, preparing another spell as it's hands glowed a myriad of colours.

The first seemed exceedingly and thoroughly hateful. After the prompt stabbing, the remaining fingers clasped around the blade deep in their hand and wrenched it away from the girl, propelling the blade halfway into the ground before it focused on the the man. With a simple thrust, the girl was sent hurtling towards the man with no small amount of force, phantom strings cutting before the creature willed itself upwards, remaining foot barely hanging off the ground. It's mobility returned, it's undamaged hand followed up the flinging with a green glow, it's hand spewing a stream of corrosive acid towards both man and girl alike.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"Just one more minute..." He thought as the thunder and lightning in the sky grew more intense. However before he could do anything else, he looked ahead as he saw the girl flying towards him. Bracing himself the man caught the girl without falling onto his ass. Instead he was simply pushed back when he caught the girl with bot hands, however he did feel a sharp pain as his something sharp impaled his shoulder, something he didn't notice before... the girl had a horn. Normally he would have said something, but when he looked up his eyes widened, seeing a stream of acid flying towards the two as well. "Son of a bitch!" He cursed as he jumped back while holding onto the girl. It was clearly that he was definitely a more experienced Slayer by his strength and endurance so far...

After avoiding the acid however, the man briefly looked up at the sky, and as soon as he did he smirked. "Perfect! Crash down, Electric Fang!" He roared as suddenly and in a brief and blinding flash, his spear along with a devastating bolt of lightning came crashing down on the second creature.

The second's hands glowed white as soon as the first word was shouted. A pair of barriers formed above their head. The impact of the spear dug into and shattered the first with it's velocity, but it's momentum was cut, clattering off to the side as the blast impacted the second. The barrier shone with light, the entire street becoming almost blinding for a moment before the shield redirected the lightning back into the sky. It's inhuman face gave a grin towards the man. It was stronger than the slayer likely expected.

Meanwhile, Waelin's head wavered with a wave of dizziness, especially at the skewering done to their supposed savior. It left them in a very uncomfortable position, especially considering they were being held, meaning prying the horn out would be... impractical considering the circumstance. This situation was going poorly, even with the blade. The blade that was now completely out of reach and deep in the road. Waelin kept quiet, trying to stay as still as possible for the man's convenience.

The first creature's damaged hand rose. It's red glow was moments before their blood coagulated, forming a set of two replacement fingers and covering the wounds they had received. Then, their spilled blood on the ground rose, forming solid, sharp shapes which hung in the air before darting towards the two's current location, aiming to saturate the area with shards.

Despite the situation they were in, the man's reaction was somewhat comical. Going from a look of triumph to absolute annoyance as his attack only managed to destroy one of the creature's barriers.

"You gotta be shitting me!" Was all he could say before he quickly turned around and began running as fast as possible, and unlike Waelin, his speed was quite impressive. Almost similar to that of a professional athlete as he ran with her in his arms, and her horn in his shoulder. The rain continued to pour as the thunderstorm raged on.

As he ran he cursed "Dammit, I hate these things. Why couldn't they have given me an easier assignment on a day like this!?" He complained as he continued to run, trying his hardest to weave back and forth in a desperate attempt to dodge the monsters attacks. Only barely managing to avoid each projectile.

Waelin stayed quiet, closing their eyes to avoid the rain getting in them, but they listened. An assignment? They were sent to rescue them directly? Why? Did they know about everything? The prison, the experiments, the cult? Questions raced through their mind as adrenaline faded from their system slightly, given they couldn't do much in this situation. They could feel the wind and rain speeding around them as the man accelerated into a full sprint. Perhaps the loss of weight helped. Though why precisely that happened in the first place confused them. All of this did. All they wanted was just to go home.

But now they couldn't. They doubted they ever could. They shivered slightly at that, though the man probably couldn't tell if it was due to the cold or not.

Even after the assault, they were still followed, the uninjured striding forth, while the injured disappeared from sight. The follower's hands glowed once more, this time a cyan. Raindrops stopped their fall, bending to the creature's command, orbiting around them. They froze them as they rotated, sharp pellets erratically being fired towards the duo in a stream.

The man continued to run with Waelin in his arms as he continued to avoid the creature's previous attack. When the creature began to bombard them with the cyan pellets however was when things began to get tough. He tried to dodge most of them, however a few had struck him in the back, causing him to let out a audible gasp of pain before clenching his teeth. This man needed to do something fast if he wanted to get him and the girl out of this alive.Though he knew there was one thing he needed to do first.

"Listen. I'm going to pull this... horn of yours out of my shoulder! The second I do I'm going to need you to hide. After that I'm going to do my best to try and kill this damn bastard. Do you understand!?" He whispered to her in the best re-assuring tone he could muster at a time like this as they dipped into an alley. With that he took a deep breath before grabbing onto her tightly and pulling her away from his body, yanking her horn right out of his shoulder which while bleeding, was seemingly beginning to heal. It wasn't healing as fast the monster's chasing them, but definitely faster than an ordinary human.

After pulling her horn out of his shoulder he let go of her "Now hide!" Was all that he said as he then turned around, his spear suddenly manifesting back into his hand via a series of sparks and surges of electricity. However this time he stuck his hand into the air as a bolt of lightning came crashing down from the sky, through his spear, and into his body which was beginning to glow an electric blue as electricity coursed around his body. It was as if his entire body was acting as some sort of lightning rod, absorbing the electrical energy.

"As much as I appreciate the advice..." Waelin spoke with near empty as they were pried out, blood from the horn rolling down into their hair, rubbing the water from their eyes quickly.

"Those... creatures have been tracking me wherever I hide for the last few hours. I would if I could, but I can't." Waelin spoke, her voice tinged with pain.as they still felt that slam keenly, but it wasn't as bad as they thought it would've been. "They can come and go anywhere, even completely sealed rooms. And there's only one there. Where's the second?"

"If they can come and go anywhere, then my guess is the second one is either coming around for a sneak attack, or had retreated. My bets are on the former." He said as he continued to hold up his spear, drawing in and absorbing one more bolt of lightning. Electricity arching around his body as a blue aura flared up around him, his eyes glowing a bright electric blue. Having basically supercharged himself with the lightning he absorbed, he readied his weapon and waited, hopefully this supercharged state of his would give him the speed and power to take out at least one of these bastards.

"It's been a while since I had a run-in with one of these damn things in particular. Forgot how frustrating they can be..." He mumbled to himself as he then looked over his shoulder at Waelin. "If you can't run, and you can't hide then find some cover." The man spoke as he began scanning the area for the creatures, or for anything they might pull.

"If we survive, There's some serious questions I have for you..."

"One step at a time." Waelin curtly replied before moving out of the way, keeping to the walls of the closest building. "If the second comes, i'll yell for you."

The creature's pace slowed, but it's rotating orbs continued firing out ice, simply to keep the slayer constantly on the move. In fact, the pace of icicles had increased, the downpour continuing to supply it with practically limitless ammunition. It's hands glowed a myriad of colours once more as it's movements grew more predatory and careful, ready to move or cast at a moment's notice.
