Astraea was close to hitting Ethan, in fact if Ethan hadn't dropped down to the ground suddenly she would have probably cleaved him in half. Instead Astraea got a look of pure shock instead of rage as Ethan dropped down to the ground. Unfortunately for the Angeloid, her momentum from her lunge had carried her forward a little too far, which combined with the shockwave from the explosion had sent her barreling off quite a good distance in probably the most comedic fashion. As she seemed to go spinning out of control with her shield and weapon flying out of her hands... before eventually landing, face first into the sand... with enough force to literally get her head buried into the sand.

By the time the explosion had ended, and Ethan would have gotten up and looked for Astraea, he would have seen a rather hilarious sight. Astraea seemingly incapacitated with her head buried in the sand, and her ass sticking up in the air while her skirt was flipped upside down due to her position. Which obviously would have given Ethan a perfect view of her perfect ass and white panties.

Ethan could tell the exact moment the grenade exploded, though when he felt another small vibration in the ground, he just had to look over to the source of the disturbance, and was quite surprised by the outcome. Seeing Astrea in such a silly and compromising position brought a laugh to the bounty hunter, how she had fumbled so badly and had basically defeated herself. The celebration was short lied though, as Ethan still needed to retrieve Mokou. To that end, Ethan ran towards Astrea's sword and picked it up to ensure he would not be attacked again, then ran in Mokou's direction... then suddenly slowed to a stop after a couple steps. Just then, he turned to look at the temporarily dazed angeloid and produced a rather comical and almost mischievous expression. Wasting little time, Ethan ran back over to Astrea before taking one hand, placing it over one of the android's cheeks, and giving a firm squeeze. Much to Ethan's pleasure, this was the highlight of his day. The ass was soft enough for Ethan's fingers to sink in just a little to the tender flesh, but just firm enough to push right back.

"This is for getting me blown up earlier!", Ethan loudly and playfully said to Astrea before then taking his hand and slappin' dat ass before swiftly running off to Mokou's aid.

Astraea, with her head still buried in the sand, had her wings visibly twitch in response to Ethan firmly squeezing her ass. He seemed pleased by it, but Astraea was clearly confused by what was happening. Every little squeeze he gave to her perfect ass caused her wings to twitch, but the moment she felt a strong hand slap her ass her wings spread out and went stiff in response as she pulled her head out with her face a bright red. The sound she made could be best described as a mixture of a surprised squeek and a slight moan. She was still a little dazed by all that happened, and by the time she did come to her senses and turned around, she saw Ethan running away after Mokou.

Her face was blushing a bright red as she, despite being quite dumb and clumsy, could still deduce that he had been the one who slapped her ass. Shaking her head to clean herself of any sand, she began to reach for her sword... which was definitely nowhere to be seen. Instinctively she quickly got up, puffed her cheeks out a bit as if she was angry, and began sprinting after Ethan. Her inhuman speed being able to help her catch up to him. "Hey get back here!" she yelled as she chased after him. Unfortunately when she was only a good 3 yards away from him she tripped, once again falling face first in the sand in the most comedic fashion... with her face landing in the sand and her sliding forward along the ground for a bit. Her top nearly getting pulled off as she slid across the sand a bit.

By the time Lycoris realized what was going on, she knew it was already to late to avoid the hit, even with her cat like reflexes, the best she could do was minimize the damage and try to turn it into an even one for one. Lycoris wrapped her tail around one of Emil's legs while hardening her abs to absorb the blow, as the hit was landing she also moved her gut with the blow, sucking it inward with the momentum of the fist te keep the overall impact to the area as minimal as possible. As this was happening she took aim at her mentor and pulled the trigger on the gun she was holding, hopefully whatever type of gun it was would do some sort of damage to him, and hopefully it actually had bullets in it.

Rebecca pressed the button sh was shown and suddenly, her vision changed very significantly. She could see things she wasn't able too before, and some things that were once easy to see were difficult to make out. It was....interesting. She took a few moments to just look around and get used to the goggles. The most curious thing to her however was looking at her own brother, as well as down at her own skin. "Neat." she finally said once she had gotten used to her new vision. "How dose this help us find Mr. Sharpy?"

BASIC INFORMATION
- Nihiliod: Particle entities that are typically found in 2 forms: one that resemble parasitic microorganisms and another that takes the shape of a quadrupedal insectoid creature with razor-like legs.
- Nihiliod particles, Nihims, are reportedly harmless and inert, however the Nihiliod Microorganism, Nihili, exhibit primitive sentient behaviors.
- While Nihiliods behave like entities that exist, all notable features are considered simulated. What they are at a basic level is still unknown.

NIHIM
- Particles seem to react to electrostatic pulses, such as those found in most organisms' nervous system.
- If diluted with a mixture composed of water and corlaviri, seems to enhance most species' cognitive functions. This solution, called Nitri, is reported to be safe if taken in moderation.
- Attracted to Aura energy, allowing other Nihim particles to react to other particles and start to form bonds and thus create the structures contained in Nihili.
- In certain configurations, traditional means of detection become invalid. In short, it can appear as a void in space where nothing exists.
- The Nihim particles somehow are capable of forming various types of atoms using Aura and Gaia energy to create the bonds between particles. It has been tested that breaking these bonds do not hinder the overall structure; very little energy is needed to replace any bonds, which grants the overall structure it's resilience.

NIHILI
- Attracted to ambient Aura energy as well as high levels of Gaia radiation, thus causing them to be drawn to centers with concentrations of organic life and places using large quantities of Gaia energy.
- Capable of breaking down virtually any matter and convert it using Aura or Gaia energy into more Nihim particles and thus create more Nihili.
- Resilient, capable of withstanding all known conditions, excluding high levels of Aura radiation. When exposed to concentrated Aura radiation, the Nihili undergo what can only be described as a phase shift to that of a solid, where any addition of energy causes a breakdown of the Nihili's simulated cellular structure. It then falls apart into the basic Nihim particles, rendering it harmless.
- Can be masked from detection by configuring it's simulated cellular wall. This makes the organisms appear to be a void in space.

NIHILIOD
- Conglomerates of Nihili microorganisms, gaining what appears to be advanced cognitive functions and sentience. A Nihiliod will actively track and hunt prey, manipulate technological devices with finesse, and mimic traits of other sentient beings.
- Can change their basic form at will, if it helps it complete a task.
- Will typically engage prey to disable and to create vulnerabilities so that Nihili can infect the target.
- Have an exoskeleton-like structure which hardens and softens actively. It has been reported that a Nihiliod will allow prey to break the shell if it is advantageous.
- The exoskeleton can arrange itself so as to mask the entire creature as if it was a void in space.
- It has been also reported that it can utilize a form of active camouflage. This has not been confirmed.
- The typical form is about 6m long with legs extended, has a shoulder width of about 1m, legs of 2m, and shoulder width of 1m. They normally stand about 1m high.

NOTES ON INFECTION:
- Nihili will destroy and replace structures in order to take control. They can simulate both organic and inorganic systems.
- They will add structures, if necessary, to achieve control. This is how Nihiliods can take control of technological systems.
- It is virtually impossible to distinguish a Nihiliod-created structure from a normal structure.
- When the infection completely overtakes the brain, the host is considered dead.
- Nihiliods are known to use infected hosts as part of their exoskeleton once the infection is advanced enough.
- Any connection to the nervous system allows the infection to influence the host. This results in what is known as the Madness.

Mimi then tried to focus the sensors further in an attempt to pinpoint the Nihiliod. What she found worried her. "The air... It has high concentrations of Nihim particles. If Nihili organisms gain a charge, it can produce more from this. Be careful."

The Nihiliod slid as a puddle across the passageway, appearing only as a shadow. The sensors picked it up briefly, showing where it was going; It was climbing the wall trying to reach a alcove in the ceiling.

Ethan continued to run towards Mokou until he heard Astrea's rapid steps behind him, which prompted him to grit his teeth with slight fear as the furious yet rather cute angeloid chased him down with possibly murderous intent. Ethan then quickly faced forward and sprinted even faster to try and put some distance between Astrea and himself. There was no doubt in his mind that she was pissed that he not only took her sword, but slapped her ass as well, and he would surely get split in two from the forehead down if she caught him. Of course, this prompted another rather interesting question. "Where the FUCK is my helmet!?", Ethan shouted as he ran, trying to remember where he left his precious melon-protector. Of course, before he could deduce where it was, he heard a loud thud then the brushing of sand and gravel from behind him. Ethan looked behind him as he ran, but then suddenly slowed to a slow, almost playful gallop as he saw what had happened.

Before him was Astrea, yet again with her face in the dirt only with the addition of her top nearly being pulled off, to which Ethan gave a rather playful chuckle.

"Hey come on! Are you trying to kill me or seduce me?", Ethan playfully responded before turning around and picking up speed again, emboldened by his now seemingly overwhelming advantage. He would near Mokou in a few more seconds, and then she would be in his hands and home free.





The Expense | VR Training Room

Emil could feel the sudden tightness in Lycoris's frame, how she had reflexively tightened her abdominal muscles to reduce the impact while also pulling away from the punch. It was a rather effective move, though he could also easily see the gun aligning with his head, and if he didn't have a grip on Lycoris's arm, she would have been successful in countering and he probably would have been shot, but that was why he had made it a point to grab her as soon as possible. Using Lycoris's backward momentum to his advantage, Emil, pulled hard on her forearm and jerked her towards him, almost whipping her closer as he further entwined his arm onto hers, tucking her wrist beneath his armpit and grasping her shoulder. As she raced towards him, he raised his other hand to her shoulder and tightly grabbed on before applying his own forward momentum and whipped his head toward hers, all this in combination was not only an attempt to ruin her aim and dodge the bullet, but also to deliver a very powerful headbutt to the genetically advanced catgirl. If he was successful, then he would follow through with a powerful palm strike to her solar plexus again, this time applying it slightly higher to reduce her chance to defend against the attack with a flex of her muscles.

Thomas patiently and calmly watched as Rebecca became temporarily enthralled by her new change in perception, remaining silent until she had addressed him. He had actually expected her to ask such a question. After all, she had now infra-red goggles, but she still did not know how to implement them, to which he would now answer.

"You see, those goggles allow us to see the most minute differences in temperature in a given location. With these we simply have to track down the rodent by looking at the walls and search for a small rodent-sized bundle of heat. After that, we can simply lure it out and retrieve Mr. Sharpy.", Thomas explained before turning his own on and placing them over his eyes.





Palace - Palace Depths - Near Engines

John quickly scanned the data as it rolled across the screen in a second or two and gave a light sigh at the information and her warning. It seemed these creatures were quite resilient and would be difficult to fight directly. If that was the case, then John would need to fall back on more clever tactics to combat this creature. Not only that, but he also needed whatever this "aura" energy was. If he could get his hands on something that could utilize this energy, then perhaps things would be easier in the future.

("MIMI, what sources are there for aura energy? Would we be able to obtain a weapon or tool that could produce it?"), John asked the AI as they continued onward. Despite the conversation he was having in his head, he was still paying full attention to his surroundings, making sure not to get ambushed.

"Ay-ay Thomas the tank engine" said the pink haired girl as she quickly went to work, looking around to try to find the heat signature coming from the wall. Unfortunately she ended up bumping into things and nearly tripping over junk that was in her way thanks to her new vision. She repeated the phrase "I'm okey." each time she bumped into something or tripped while she slowly gained her footing and got used to the goggles.

With Ethan's snide joke, Astraea just seemed to get more flustered than flat out enraged. Her wings fanned out and outstretched as far as they can go before going stiff. As if a reaction from the embarassment she feels. She then looked up from the sandy ground, with her cheeks puffed up and her face in a bright red blush. Clearly Ethan was more than able to handle her without even lifting a finger due to Astraea's clumsiness alone.

Ethan's comments and Astraea's own failed attempts at trying to stop the regenerative super-human did not sway Astraea from her task. She still wanted to kill or at least beat him in combat at this point. However just as she stood up, she could hear a call from her communicator. One informing her that the 2nd dropship will be entering the atmosphere about 3 miles south of her current destination. Hearing this she actually growled before calling out to Ethan, while not caring to cover up her now bare chest.

"YOU BIG MEANIE!! I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU PAY ONE OF THESE DAYS! BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T HEARD THE LAST OF ME! THE ONE AND ONLY ANGELOID OF... of... GAAAAAAAAH! I CAN'T REMEMBER IT'S NAME RIGHT NOW, BUT MARK MY WORD! I'LL MAKE YOU PAY YOU BIG JERK!" She yelled before she stuck her tongue out. She then grabbed her weapons and took off flying off in the direction her ship will be coming in from.

"Aura energy is derived from organic material. Blood, of any being, typically contains high concentrations of Aura energy. For instance, Corlaviri crystals can be charged with Aura energy by submersing it in blood. Corlaviri can amplify Aura energy, so a little can go a long way, even though large quantities of blood were still needed to charge the crystal. The Hunteri used to use what was known as Aura Batteries... which were power cores contained in a hermetically sealed system where blood was stored. If we had one of those, we would be able to switch weaponry over to Aura energy base."

"An- t-e Hu-te-i had ma-- of t-e- st--kpi--d --re. Th- ---ger nex- -- w-ere we la-nd-- wa- wh--e th-- --- mo-ed th-m." A voice crackled over the intercom system throughout the entire Palace. Static obscured the message, but not who owned the voice.

"Nemesis? Big sister?! How are you still functioning?" Mimi was surprised, since she remembered that Nemesis's power core was damaged and drained. "And how can you hear us...?"

"Inf-ct-on. Ni--li-d in---tion. Th-- ar- spea---- to m-. I wa- tr-ing to pr--en- -he s-re-d o- the inf-cti-- by mai-t--ning l-w --wer. Yo- ar- -- da-g-r. T--y k--- --at yo- a-e."

"That static is being caused by an interference source in the system." Mimi suddenly gained a new tone of urgency when she spoke. "Somehow she is linked to us now, even without a communication channel open..."
