Residential District | Valhalla
Upon turning the street corner to get to the road his house was on, Nicholas saw the monster and clenched his teeth as he tensed up. Nicholas did not spend much time processing what was standing right in front of him, but what did take the most amount of time was him trying to process whether what he was seeing was real or not. It didn't matter whether it was real or not at the moment. His heart was already racing and he did not want to find out whether he was hallucinating or not. Reacting as quickly as he could, Nicholas had already spun around and tried to sprint in the opposite direction, but he could feel that his legs were not pushing against the ground as hard as they should have. He was already tired from the run before and the jog here, meaning that he was already at a disadvantage.
Seeing no other option, Nicholas ducked around the corner of the wall and immediately sprinted towards the nearest opening in the wall next to the sidewalk. At the very least, he hoped to cut through his neighbor's yard and over his fence.
