I think they mean that after they beat Unova, they'll go to Kanto and get famous.
Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

Or maybe she's famous in Kanto for what she did, and her fame will carry over to the new region. For instance, Seki may not have done anything in Unova yet, but people there may know who she is because of her acts in Kanto.

Hmmm... Two different Water/Ground types. Interesting. I think I should go for... Barboach. Not only is Whiscash a bit stronger Base Stats wise, but maybe I can give it Future Sight!
