All the World's a Pokemon - OOC

I was just saying lol, Im thinking more of my story of a wanderer and thinking the gyms are just a sport, the fox likes to see new things and adventures

I think my start would be a modified version of World Link...well what happened for me after I got my starter.
I would have Lyrica sitting with her new pokemon, enjoying the day, then suddenly a wild pokemon appears.

Oh, and S1, for Sinnoh's weather, it depends where you are. For the most part, it's temperate weather, but some places, like Snowpoint City, are frigid and cold.

Ok so I did some very minor research...

And I now come up with this question:
So for inventory, what would we start off with?
We would have a pokedex, right? And it would be of the type for that region, right?
And we can be near any of the towns/cities, in them, etc. or any of the routes, right?
And if we encounter a wild pokemon it would be of the list for that region, right?

Or do you have a modified thing?

Oh and for the first time Lyrica encounters a wild pokemon, I was thinking it might startle her and she winds up throwing Digsalot at it :P

1. You start with 1 potion. You can arrange something in your plot line to get yourself access to poke balls.

2. Pokedex... you can choose to have pokedex or not. I myself will not have Yuuka get pokedex until I get farther into the story.

3. You can start anywhere. Wild pokemon levels will be adjusted based on where you start. The badge order will, however, not be adjusted.

What are the rules on NPCs?

Do we control them?

Important ones, like Gym leaders, Team RAAAAH-KET (and other teams of course), Professors, Elite Fours and whatnot, will be through me. Others, like Hikers, Lasses, Fishermen, and townspeople, you can either control them yourselves for unique playstyle or ask me for canon.

Would it be bad to say Goldenrod city has a hotel even though I don't see any such thing in the wiki? Or wait...what would be a hotel in Pokemon? I mean...I don't exactly remember much from the anime but....where did they stay for sleep and what-not?

Celadon City had series of apartment, so I think it will be entirely possible for a large city like Goldenrod to have a hotel.

Aw well, John won't meet anybody important until he comes across a professor or something.

I was planning on having him be introduced to the whole pokemon scene and possibly given his first pokemon by the town's professor, then go over to the trainer school for more instructions and for his first battles.
