"Hold on, I'll help you!" Yuuka pointed at the acorn Pokemon, who has been taking hits from the Sandile. "Helping Hand!"
Lilac hopped around Sandbite, boosting his morale. Sandbite gained 50% Attack and Special Attack. The acorn Pokemon, who was sure that he can take more hits, suddenly became threatened, and fled the battle.
Sandbite grew to Lv: 6!
Lilac grew to Lv: 6!

"Good job!" The Meditite leaped into battle. "And here I come! Hidden Power!"
The Meditite shined with energy as he unleashed the energy bolt at one of the Sneasel. The Sneasel fainted, unable to move.
"Damn it! You'll pay for that!" The other Sneasel scratched Snow, damaging her.

John looked down at the pokemon as it stared up at him with its big blue eyes, causing John to frown and furrow his brow inside of his helmet. If John didn't know better, the pokemon was giving what people back in his universe would call "puppy eyes". John hated that face, not because he found it annoying, but because it always guilted him into following the other person's demands.
(Ugh, that damn look it's giving me... Well, I do need a pokemon if I am to thrive in this world... Damn... Fine, take him, but don't get too attached to it.), John finally thought.
Despite John's inner conflict, he retained his calm demeanor and spoke.
"Thank you. I'll take care of him. There's only one question I have to ask. How exactly do you take care of him? What does he eat?", John asked Cynthia and Prof. Rowan.

"We... won? WE WON!!!" Chung cheered as he grabbed Sandbite. "I can't believe we won our first battle!" He said as he turned to Yuuka.
"Thank you ma'am! I don't know how I can ever repay you!" Chung said as he bowed down politely. Sandbite in his arms.
"Yea! If she didn't come in sooner we might not have been able to do much!" Sandbite said excitedly.

Snow hopped back a little, knowing full well it had been hurt, but ignored the pain.
"Double Team!" Koishi called out. Snorunt then made many copies of itself like before, surrounding the now lone Sneasel, and moving around it.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

The last Hidden Power knocked the other Sneasel out of commission. He quickly recovered, picked up his friend, and ran away.

"We drove them away!" The Meditite joyfully hopped. "It's all thanks to you, traveler!"

Koishi rubbed the back of her neck. "I can't really d anything really, not without my own powers being lost. I can only watch."

Yuuka stood up to find the brown-haired boy and the crocodile Pokemon thanking her.
"Oh, no, I really didn't do much there..." Yuuka flustered. But on the inside, she grinned with pride. "It was really all you."

John now had another question. The entire time he had been in this dimension, he had seen people walking around with strange red and white balls. They were about the size of the Plasma Grenades on his magnetic holsters, but from what John could see, they were some kind of storage device. If that was the case, then perhaps John could use them to store items. John didn't know whether or not it was possible, but it was worth asking about.
"I have another question. What exactly are those red and white balls I keep seeing people carry around? From what I can see, they are a type of storage device for Pokemon. Are they able to hold other things, like items, or hypothetically.. people?", John asked Prof. Rowan in a curious tone.
