Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"To compete in the competition, a trainer must gather eight gym badges from gyms scattered in the region. The trainer who defeats the four trainers who stand as the tests gets the chance to become the champion of the region by defeating the current standing Trainer."

Obtain 8 badges from all across the Sinnoh Region to challenge the Elite Four and the Championship!" The boy answered as if he's been memorizing it.
"The first gym for it is in this very city, Oreburgh! If you want, I can lead you there!"
"Oni... You mean those Japanese horned beasts that are known to kidnap children?" Roark asked. "I don't know your crowd, but it isn't as tough as you think."
Roark took Koishi's empty dishes and threw them into the kitchen sink to wash them. "Do you have anywhere to sleep for the day? Oreburgh doesn't have a well-established hotel system..."

John wanted to acquire something to eat first, but it seemed as if the child wanted him to follow. Humoring the kid yet again, John opted to do so.
