Sherry brushed off Yuuka and her Eevee's shenanigans as she prepared a few berries for snacks. She wanted to eat them and be done with it, but she figured eating later would help to keep her up during the trip to Dewford. Plus, once they reached the island, she could admit the party to the Pokemon center and sleep in a nice bed. The woman put her pack back on and turned to the green-haired woman.
"I've got some berries for our Pokemon ready, but that's all I have. I'll have to get some more in Dewford," she explained. "I wonder if Pokemon eat more than just berries?"

Sherry looked up and gave the good Captain a welcoming smile. Old as he was, he was the one with the boat who could deliver her and Yuuka to Dewford. It wasn't every day that a man showed such generosity and kindness! With a small bow, Sherry gestured to the sandwiches.
"Well, we've got four sandwiches. One chicken, one roast beef, one peanut butter and jelly, and one experimental sandwich." Sherry pointed to said experimental sandwich. "Uses some fruit and a lot of odd berries. I had no idea what I was doing, but I needed to use up the last two slices of bread."

"I'll take the Roast Beef." Captain Briney snagged the roast beef sandwich and took a bite. "Mmm, delicious."
"Experimental sandwich, huh?" Yuuka took interest in the oddest of the sandwiches. "I'll take it... I'm a vegetarian anyway."

"Okay, but be careful. It might be... Spicy, sour, and sweet," Sherry warned Yuuka.
The agent gave Mac and Gregor their meals before letting Claire out to hunt. When she was finished with that, she picked up the spicy chicken and sat down to eat. It seemed odd that the people of this world loved Pokemon so much, yet they had to eat meat. Meat came from mammals, and the only mammals here in this world were pokemon. Unless there were secret chickens running around, Sherry was really eating a Combusken. She contemplated on that for a moment before shrugging and taking a bite of her sandvich.
To hell with meat is murder, Sherry thought. Meat is moist and delicious.

"Mmm... Pretty good actually." Yuuka commented after taking a small bite. "A bit on the sour side... But the lettuce captures it so not much of an issue."
After taking about three or so small bites, Yuuka placed the sandwich back on the plate. "Gochisosama."
"Wait, you're done eating?" Captain Briney raised an eyebrow. "You still have half the sandwich left."
"I'm a light eater." Yuuka chuckled as she wiped her mouth with a napkin. "I'll be outside, call me up when we're going."
"Mmm... Pretty good actually." Yuuka commented after taking a small bite. "A bit on the sour side... But the lettuce captures it so not much of an issue."

She turned to get Yuuka's attention, but the woman had already up and went out the door. Strange, Sherry thought. With the trip ahead of them both, eating all of the sandwich would have been the best option. And that word she used... Gochisosama? Was she Japanese or Chinese? Sherry was horrible when it came to those languages. Jake would know, if he was here.
Shaking her head and stowing the issue for later, Sherry returned to her sandwich.
"Captain Briney, if you don't mind me asking... Do you have a wife and kids?"

"My wife Francesca died to cancer when she was 40." Captain Briney indifferently said. Time was the ultimate cure for all sad evnts. "At her birthday too. Held my hands and told me not to worry... So I bought my own boat that day and named her after her name. Now it's been 35 years."

Sherry immediately regretted her decision to pry about the Captain's past. Some things were meant to stay burried, and painful memories were meant to stay locked away where they could do no harm. The agent wondered if this was what Jake felt when he pried for information on her past, and if he felt like an ass after it was all said and done. Probably did, but he made up for it by appologizing. Sighing, Sherry shook her head and looked at Briney.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up something painful," the blonde said.

"It's alright. Time has dulled my scar of losses." Captain Briney numbly said as he finished his sandwiches. "Of course, you young'uns won't get it, but when you become older... Old like me, everyday will just blend together into one huge tranquil moment in your life until your death."
"Thank you for the sandwich. Do please call your partner over, we will be leaving soon."
Yuuka was standing on the beach, with a beautiful sunset on the horizon dying the sky orange. She contemplated her past two weeks in this new environment... She got usef to the new lifestyle... She obtained three Pokemon, made some local friends, and is embarking on a journey as a trainer... But her lack of Youkai strength bothered her even now... If Yukari's whim picks her up back to Gensokyo, will her Pokemon be enough to compensate for her lack of power? Certainly not against extremely skilled opponents like the Scarlets, Yuyuko, Eirin, the Mountain gods...
