After a few more minutes, John and Koishi finally made their way to Renamon, where they found her typing something on a computer.

"I'm back.", John calmly said to Renamon as he approached.

John looked at the computer screen and saw that she was typing up what appeared to be a report of some kind. John didn't know what she was typing up, so he decided to find out.

"What are you typing?", John calmly asked Renamon.

"We're going to defeat the trainer here to power up our pokemon, then we're going to Hearthome City, where The Didact will be battling next.", John said to Renamon.

After a moment of thinking about where the message could have been sent to, John finally decided to ask her about it.

"Where was the message sent?", John calmly asked Renamon.

"Okay okay okay, let me go take some fresh air." A female grunt's voice was heard as the door opened. Yuuka shrugged far into the darkness, further camouflaged by her red hat and her red low-rise pants blending in with the red paint of the boxes she was hiding amongst.

The grunt was in her early 20s actually, with short red hair struck with jet black hair dye. Her attire consisted of very simple black tank-tops and dirty jeans shredded in the knee part, and a purple Vans. Her eyes were red, and her mouth, plastered with lip sticks, belched smoke. She staggered left, then right, and then fell onto a stack of boxes, unconscious.

'Damn." Yuuka mouthed to herself, and then ordered Kappa to go in. Kappa, nodding with his small yellow beaks, went into the cardboard box and began the mission.

Kappa-vision

The room was smoky.

It was almost impossible to see what was inside, so Kappa had to lift the heavy box to find his way around. He saw two pairs of human legs on the ground, constantly staggering and shuffling around. Careful not to hit them, Kappa thought, or else he would be done like dinner.

He saw more smoke... the humans were smoking some paper-like content, laughing giddily... almost foolishly. Their eyes were dilated red. They were standing next to a concrete table, and next to the table sat a bulging bag of stacks of green papers, which Kappa assumed was money. These people were mugging trainers by repeatedly battling them, and used it for illegal drug trafficking.

Kappa would take the money bag... if he had enough room after he got what he really needed: a Pokeball with a Slakoth inside and an orange cloth. Kappa scurried around, trying to avoid anything that would alert the humans of his presence. Eventually, amongst the cardboard boxes full of who-knows-what, Kappa found the orange flag, haphazardly folded into squares. Struggling to keep himself and the flag moving at the same time inside the box, he eventually found the Pokeball with a Slakoth inside: Pokemon can look at other Pokeballs and see through the metallic container the Pokemon inside.

A few bits of loot can be held, Kappa assumed, so he went back to the money bag. Thankfully, his presence was not known so far. He took the money bag, stuffed it into his cardboard box, and pushed everything: the money bag, orange flag, and the Slakoth Pokeball, with his tiny little lotus dish, out of the hideout.

As Kappa moved in after the thuggish woman stumbled out, Sherry took it upon herself to investigate the woman. She ordered Mac to stay put as she worked, her hands drifting over the body of the woman in both darkness and silence. It wasn't often that she searched people in her line of work, but when she did, they usually had something useful on them. Sherry checked the pockets for any wadded-up flags or keys, but, finding none, she took her search in a different direction. Then, she hit a dead-end.

No weapon holster meant no weapon whatsoever, and no personal property meant that the woman had made good on her decision to join the wrong people. Disappointed, Sherry left the body alone and shuffled back to her hiding spot. She gave Yuuka a shrug, choosing not to explain her behavior. She just wanted the added security that came with a gun or stunstick. When she noticed the cardboard box with Kappa in it had returned, she furrowed her brow.

"Did he get them?" Sherry whispered to Yuuka.

( Nicely done, Snake. I see age hasn't slowed you one bit. )

"Yup, he did." Yuuka cuddled Kappa as she held the money bag. "Ooh, nice haul."

"Hey, where did our money go?"

"Oh shit." Yuuka stopped to realize that their presence is indirectly found. She took the money bag, allowed Kappa to go back into his Pokeball, and whispered to Sherry as she held up the orange flag and the Pokeball with Slakoth inside: "Run like hell on a count of three. I'll meet you back at the front of Petalburg Forest."

Stealing from criminals was the very definition of retribution, Sherry thought as she noticed the money bag. Money would play a bigger role in this world than it did in her own, seeing as the DSO took care of many of her expenses. Now, she just had herself to rely on. Oh, and her allies, which were growing by the number. The agent nodded her head, acknowledging Yuuka's order.

As long as the lonely brute outside didn't turn on his heel and stiffarm them both, they would be fine.

"That Slakoth is gone too!"

"That flag we were supposed to set up for auction is gone as well! Check the outside! We may have a burglar!"

"Three... Two... One..." Yuuka counted. "RUN!"

Sherry didn't need to be told twice. She reclaimed Mac and attached him to her belt before running like hell. It seemed like it was part of her nature to run, or maybe she just had a bad habit of getting in situations she had no choice but to run from. She ducked under the doorguard's arms and leapt out from the shadows of the hideout with a job well done.

She spared a glance behind her and smirked when she noticed that they had gotten off scot-free. Well, as scot-free as getting away was. No doubt about it, someone would come stumbling out and looking for their stolen items, but the perps would be long gone. With this in mind, Sherry took off towards Petalburg forest at a brisk pace. When she arrived, she was out of breath.

"Why is nothing simple anymore?" she muttered as she keeled over to try and catch her breath.
