Jungle, Noon

Kris stopped running when she heard the explosion and saw the smoke appearing on the sky ("Looks like the job is done") she thought and started moving to her destination, but in a lower pace so her ally could reach her. The fox jumped between branches still alert for any scout or wild animal that could get her unprepared, her last pheromone arrow in one hand and sharp nails on the other, she moved through the jungle

It didn´t took long for Seki to reach the tengu as the latter jumped down from a tree and made a friendly sign just to be cautious "I see you wanted to finish with some fireworks, isn´t it? from the hell of distraction on the jungle and base, I guess you wanted something important" she spoke to the infecta female

Jungle-Noon

Nisen crouched near the top of the canopy, looking at the destruction cause at West Star, waiting for more information to come through via Sonia. Finally her voice came though the earpiece, "They seemed to have escaped, the tengu entered for a while but left soon after, probably a distraction for the infecta, look for her first, find out what they were after and if it was surveillance like i thought, try to get the location of the cameras so we can remove them. I will look for the infecta for now, I will have to examine the records, that explosion caused quite a bit of chaos..." Nisen rose and continued on his way, looking for the tengu based on a brief description he was given. A white fox-like tengu, easy to spot, for him. Soon after starting a quick circuit of the area around West Star, he heard faint creaking. Following the noise, he found the tengu travelling in the same way he was, through the trees, albeit slightly higher up, the creaking had been caused by her landing on and jumping off branches. He made sure to only jump off and land on sturdier lower branches though, to avoid the same mistake as the tengu's. The tengu seemed to be on guard, her weapon at the ready.

Nisen drew out a knife, keeping it angled low while keeping pace with the tengu to avoid a flash of light alerting her, preparing to throw it such that it would hit her hilt-first, kncoking her out. As he started moving his hand forward, he noticed it and stopped. The tengu seemed to be moving at a slower pace than what she could move at, the only reason she would be moving so low is if she was setting a trap or ...at the same time sonia's voice came through again, "The infecta escaped, don't attack the tengu, they are probably meeting up, just follow and keep watch. The military is still trying to clear up the mess at West Star, and they were already stretched thin, so don't expect reinforcements." Nisen nodded and re-sheathed the knife, he had already come to the same conclusion, the infecta had stayed longer, so it made sense the tengu slowed down to meet up with her.

Soon she seemed to reach her destination, jumping to the ground. As nisen looked around for a better observation spot, the tengu spoke, "I see you wanted to finish with some fireworks, isn´t it? from the hell of distraction on the jungle and base, I guess you wanted something important" Nisen found a low sturdy branch with a clear view of the ground and got into position, ready to draw his blades if needed, blending into the background.

Jungle l Day

As soon as Jason closed his communication channel, he quickly looked towards Cooper and the female Infecta and spoke.

"Get ready to run. When I say, I want you guys to follow me. Keep up, because we're going to be out of the jungle like a bat out of hell.", Jason said as he put away his XMA-38 Assault Rifle and pulled out his ZCX-S2 Machine Pistols.

"Right behind you.", Cooper said as he gave a quick, small nod at Jason.

As the Tainted surged around Jason's group, slaughtering everyone in their path, Jason took a deep breath and closed his eyes. The sounds of carnage and destruction echoed through the jungle, but right now, all that was on Jason's mind was getting Cooper an their recruit out of the jungle as fast as possible. As Jason remained in this state, preparing himself, some of the Tainted took notice of Jason's group and began to close in. Cooper was not usually the kind of person to feel nervous, but in a situation like this, he couldn't help it. If they did not leave now, then they would be torn apart by the Tainted.

"Jason, I think we should leave now!", Cooper said to Jason in a nervous tone as he eyed the Tainted circling around them.

Just as Jason had predicted, the Tainted did not simply run in and attack. They were smarter than that. Instead, they decided to try and run towards the group's flanks and rear. Just as son as he heard the footsteps of the running Tainted, Jason opened his eyes, spun around, and sprayed a barrage of gunfire at the Tainted. Within a single instant, the charging Tainted were quickly ripped apart by the hail of .45 caliber rounds, reduced to nothing but heaps of tainted flesh, some of the Tainted left dead, while others were writhing, trying to catch Jason and the others.

"Now.", Jason said as he suddenly ran forth at 40 mph and began to lay down a barrage of gunfire at the Tainted in front of them, quickly mowing them down as he neared them.

Without hesitation, Cooper and the female Infecta followed, sprinting closely behind Jason as he cleared the way. Luckily for Jason's group, Jason chose a path through the jungle that had a more spares amount of Tainted, albeit still enough to be considered a dangerous threat. As Jason ran across the jungle floor, he saw an enemy quickly approaching from the left on his radar. Within a mare fraction of a second, Jason had already aimed one of his machine pistols at the Tainted and opened fire, blowing off one of its legs at the knee, stopping it from pursuing the group. Just as soon as that happened, two more sprinted towards the group from up ahead. Reacting quickly, Jason aimed both of his machine pistols at the Tainted and opened fire, shooting them both in the head before ramming straight through their twitching bodies. Cooper and the female Infecta hopped over the dead Tainted as they continued to sprint after Jason, keeping pace with Jason as he laid down more suppressive fire, quickly killing Tainted as the group passed by.

As the clips in Jason's machine pistols ran dry, he quickly activated the release switches on the machine pistols, and in a move that would be called unbelievable by some, threw his machine pistols diagonally upward, causing the empty magazines to slip out. Right as soon as Jason grabbed the empty magazines out from the air, he increased his run speed just enough to catch up with his machine pistols, and as they came back down, Jason grabbed two full magazines from his magnetic holsters and tossed them up with just enough force so that they would be suspended in the air as he ran. As the machine pistols came back down, Jason quickly grabbed them, and in one swift movement, he swung the pistols downward and onto the fresh magazines, forcing them to enter the pistol. As soon as Jason heard the click amongst the monstrous creatures ahead, he opened fire once again, this time mowing down a small cluster before ramming through the ones that were barely alive.

So far, the group had been running for only three minutes, and even then, they still covered 2 miles (3.2 km). Jason could see the edge of the jungle up ahead, and once they exited the jungle, they would be safe. As the last line of Tainted tried to stop Jason's group, Jason fired off a quick burst of gunfire at the creatures in front of them, gunning them down before trampling over them. Right as soon as Jason passed the treeline, he quickly spun around and aimed his machine pistols at the jungle, gunning down any Tainted that tried to follow Cooper and the female Infecta.

"This is the spot. All we need to do now is wait for backup and an escort for Cooper.", Jason said as he fired at another Tainted, blowing one of its legs off before finishing it with a well placed shot to the head.

Infecta HQ - Noon

Zero wakes up. "Where am I?" He asks sitting up. "Brooks brought you back along with the rest of Ghost One." A female nurse said. "So they're safe, that's good." Zero said to himself softly. He looks overs and noticed that some Ragnarokians are there too. "Why the hell are they here?" Zero asks in an extremely mad tone. "Brooks brought them back too and they were in the same situation as Ghost One but you still had your armor at least." The nurse said. "That doesn't matter. All Ragnarokians can die." Zero said angrily but then feels pain throughout his body. "Rest up. You're still injured." The nurse said and try to lay Zero down some. Zero lets out a deep, angry sigh and lays down.

Jungle l Noon

It didn't take long for Seki to catch up with her comrade. Seki had propelled herself forward. She glided gracefully through the air to the point it seemed like she was going to run into Kris, But at the last second Seki caught herself on a tree limb, using her feet to stop in mid air and hold her body perfectly horizontal. Seki's face was about an inch away from Kris's mask when she suddenly stopped to make silly faces at her reflection in the mask. After doing this for a moment Seki released her grip on the branch and did a small flip to land on her feet just in front of her partner. "I bet you're curious aren't you?" She said in response to the Tengu fox. "While i would love to give you all the juicy details of what happened, there's only one place safe enough for me to tell you." As Seki explained this, She had handed the Tengu a duplicate bag to the one she was holding. Trusting that Kris remembered the way to Seki's "home" was and that she was capable of making it there alive. This was a strategy she had learned from Brooks where if an enemy or more specifically spys would be forced to split up to go after both parties, which made them weaker as a unit. Since both Seki and Kris were used to working alone this gave them an advantage. Of corse at the Time Seki didn't know there was only one spy or that there were any spies at all, but even then the spy would have to decide which of them to follow. Without saying another word. Seki rocketed off to the east of their location at about 45MPH. She was gone in the blink of an eye.


NOTE: To correct my last post. Brooks found Zero in the woods and brought him home with the rest of Ghost one. He was then taken the the infirmary.


Edit: i'll respond to s1 in the morning, i can't get any work done because i'm taking care of a child who may or may not still be sick. I honestly have no idea at this point.

Jungle l Day


Kris couldn´t help but smirk inside her helmet "Ok then, we shall see" was the only thing she said as her ally pracctically poof´d from the place they were. The tengu stretched her arms and did the same as Seki while running north-west of the jungle by jumping through the trees directly to some of the wilderness ("If what she had is so important, better risk whatever I got just in case we are being followed") the fox thought.

Suddenly one of the beast appeared on her view as it tried to slash at her, but the tengu used a branch as a detour and barely evaded the claw. Checking her quiver, she noticed that there were only 3 normal ones, the last pheromone one, a rope arrow, and 1 flash arrow. ("Hm.. this is problematic") was her thought while escaping from an oncoming death. Taking one normal arrow and her bow, Kris aimed it to a high tree and threw it as hard as she could, the arrow whistled its way and got heavily stuck into the bark. Starting to go faster and faster, the fox jumped on a rock and did the same to the tall tree using all the momentum she had to run upwards, her arrow was her saviour and falling would be her death

The fox tengu lost her speed just in the last grasp as her hand reached the arrow and the other one held on the bark with the nails. Not stopping, she looked and traced her path. The rope arrow prepared on the bow, Kris jumped off the tree and plummethed to the ground still aiming. Her speed was heavily increasing as she threw the arrow which got into another tree, the rope tightened and the tengu´s body swinged extremely fast in an upwards arch. She cut the rope when the leap of speed and distance would be most effective. Kris was at bliss while being in the sky, she felt like flying and was at peace, yet this feeling of liberty would be short as the earth was getting closer to her again, the jungle´s flora almost finished (Come on.. just a little more..")

The tengu managed to pass the trees and kept falling now to what looked like a praire, preparing to land at her feet first, she braced herself for the impact. To say it was smoothly was an understament. It hurt when her feet crashed on the land and Kris quikly used the inertia to roll her way forward and kept running towards a diversion location

Jungle-Noon

Nisen tensed as his mind caught up with what they were saying, this was not to be the final destination it seemed. He twitched instinctively as the infecta rocketed away, but managed to rein himself in. He could probably follow her, but it would take a lot of effort and not stealthy at all, which he would need to be since they seemed suspicious. This was a simple tactic to deal with spies. Instead he continued following the tengu, he kept pace running and jumping from tree to tree, using the pads on his shoes and foliage to both maintain height by occasionally climb as he fell further down and remain concealed.That tengu has some nice acrobatics... Nisen paused briefly by the tall tree and pulled out the arrow, then continued running, examining it as he ran. He then snapped it in half to check then dropped the pieces soundlessly into a bush, there was nothing special about the arrow but considering how the tengu had used a special arrow to cause a diversion, she might have others. He continued keeping the tengu in sight, also watching out for the other infecta or other beings, considering they used that tactic to get rid of potential spies like him, they might also set an ambush. Or they might just be cautious and he is overly paranoid.

Jungle/N.W l AfterNoon

"This is the spot. All we need to do now is wait for backup and an escort for Cooper." said Jason after making it out into the clearing. Cooper was unharmed, but he was a bit winded from the previous running. It wouldn't be long before more tainted arived to kill the three infecta and while Jason could handle himself, he wouldn't be able to protect Cooper forever. The female rooky Tried to help as much as she could by bending the earth to make a tall wall that the tainted would either nee to go over or around, while firing whenever Jason had to reload. As things took a turn for the worse and it appeared the infecta would be surrounded and overwhelm, there was a humming in the distance. Brooks was ridding in all by himself on one of the Infecta's motorcycles, He was even using his best equipment for the occasion. Cooper pulled his side arm and used it like a flaregun, Powering the gun with electricity and shooting the pistol high into the air to alert Brooks of their location.

Brooks rode over a small hill and used the momentum to take his bike into the air. He stood on his seat and put one foot under the handlebars. He then sanctimoniously claimed his M16 from his back and turned so that both he and the motorcycle would be upside down. He powered the weapon with an antimatter crystal and pulled the trigger on his weapon once, releasing a three shot burt towards the tainted beasts. under normal circumstances antimatter, even the size of a small bullet would cause enough destruction to kill the infecta, the tainted and level the entire jungle, however do to nanotechnology and a lot of hard work from cooper, The colonel,s able to tell the antimatter to ignore everything but the first thing the bullet collided with. The three bullets spread and each made a solid hit on three different tainted creatures. The nanotechnology quickly recognized the taint within the enemy ant told the antimatter on the bullets who to harm. There was a flash of light and the sound of an explosions and every single tainted creature with in half a mile of brooks had been vaporized.

Brooks continued his midair somersault and completed a full side flip before properly remounting the bike and bracing for landing. amazingly despite the explosion, the landscape was completely unchanged, it's as if the tainted creatures had magically disappeared. Brooks landed approximately 7 meters away from the infecta trio. He slammed hard on the breads, turned his bike so it slid sideways on it's wheals and discarded it. He leaps off the bike which made a short slide off to the side and, and made a mad dash for Cooper and the others. Seemed he was worried about his troops. As he reached them, he quickly took roll call to make sure everyone was still there. Upon realizing his allies were still okay, Brooks gave a sigh and untensed his shoulders. "Soldier" Brooks said as he looked at Jason. "What's the situation in the jungle? There's no sense going back in there if the objective has already been lost."

Jungle/N.W l AfterNoon

The praire was both a benefit and a hindrance fir Kris since everything and everyone could be seen. And to prove her thinking, there was a rather quick made wall of earth on an area that still had sometainted creatures trying to reach the other side

As she ran, the tengu noticed a pressence at her back and she knew it must have been thae same being who snapped her arrow, her ears weren't just for looks even though the helmet blocked some sounds. ("Might as well enjoy this little chase") she thought as her nails were getting covered in poison

Pouncing on the first tainted, the fox slashed its back and did the same with others in the jumping and running dash. A rather vicious tainted jumped at her and was used as a platform for the tengu who used her last bit of poison energy to damage the creature

grabbing on the wall's edge, Kris noticed an infecta squad, she just whistled at them and pointed at the other side of the wall were the tainted now lied dead. And in the same way she got there, the fox used the wall's edge to run northeast while opening her last pheromone's arrow tip and pouring the liquid on herself, any smell she had soon disappeared as also her body between the trees

Jungle/N.W l AfterNoon

Nisen stayed in the trees for a while, observing the tengu while she killed the tainted. we must be near that rampage...and it seems her only weapon is not her bow, got to watch out for those claws too. The tengu then hopped up onto a hastily constructed wall and whistled to others that he couldn't see. They might be more enemies, but the prairie lacked cover anyway. As the tengu disappeared among the trees pouring something over herself, he quickly climbed to the top of the tree. This was not stealthy, but if not he would lose track of her. He ran along a long branch and, activating his crystal for some speed, launched himself across the space above the prairie, catching a glimpse of the infecta group the tengu had whistled to earlier, hopefully they didn't see him, people hardly looked up anyway.

He landed lightly on a tree, not snapping any branches but caused a lot of swaying, causing some rustling. He quickly dropped down to a more comfortable height that was still quite high above the ground, catching a glimpse of the tengu. He checked his weapons quickly to make sure they weren't knocked loose during the jump before continuing the chase.
