San Francisco`s DCERT Base

Her part of the barracks looked more like an armory because of the many pieces of weaponry scattered on the shelves and table, it had from small things like pistols and sub machine guns to big stuff like sniper rifles, yet they had pieces missing to be unusable in case of someone trying to steal the weapon. Only the blonde knew where the correct pieces lied.

Sitting on her usual bench, Lynchwood opened the rifle´s bolt tube and cleaned it, her face was calm and focused on the repair works "One of the shots went a little off, got to check on that" she said to herself while examining the weapon.

Checking on her rifle, Sara took her time to sharpen it´s state until she was ok for it to be of use again. Her expertise in weaponry was really to be admired, being able to use almost any kind of fire arm and white weapon has saved her from many deaths, yet the usual equipment she used were weapons from almost the first world war. Some people have asked her why using "outdated" weapons when they could use all these new fire arms with digital aiming, thermal and night vision and so on with another upgrade. To their failure and laugh for some higher up soldiers, the blonde literally fried their weapons while they were training.

She asked for a blackout training session with her and some of her trusted squad against other good soldiers, yet she added a twist to the training. An EMP blast from the sky making anything electronic to fail or get fried up. During the confusion, the hunting fox got into her best scenery, just using survival skills and human senses, the soldiers were trained to cases like this, but had to leave the better weapons for "simpler" stuff. The victory for the specialist was almost an overkill.

Sara was enjoying the memory as one soldier called for her, there was someone searching for the weapons specialist "Lynchwood speaking"

To be honest, Ethan was shocked to find that he would suddenly spiral into such a state, as well as feeling somewhat ashamed for getting like that in a situation like this. He had no idea why the gunshots would have triggered such a violent reaction, causing him to relive.. that. Ethan did not want to think about it, nor did he want to talk about it further with Nitro. He just wanted to get back to the task at hand.

"Yea, I'm fine. It's nothing... What did you ask me before?", Ethan asked Nitro, attempting to change the subject.

"I was going to-" Nitro was about to begin, but an event outside made her stop and peek.

"Please, sir, please just let us go." A man begged, his presumable girlfriend sobbing and clutching his arm next to him. "We did nothing wrong. None of us did anything wrong in our lives, so-"

"Nothing wrong?" The sniper cocked his head arrogantly as he stared at the begging man's eyes. "NOTHING WRONG? YOU REALLY THINK THERE'S NOTHING YOU DID WRONG?"

"I don't understand, sir..." The begging man's voice began to whimper, intimidated by the sniper's sudden outrage. Then, the sniper laughed. Not because he found the begging man's argument funny, but amusing. Pitifully amusing. How pathetic his claim was, how little they knew.

"Kn kn kn kn... all of you, you do not know that the lives you live are not for granted. You people swindle each other to grab whatever fortune you can gain, and when it comes to your sight, you act like swine. YOU ARE ALL SWINE! WHILE REAL HARD-WORKING MEN SUFFER OUT THERE WITH LITTLE TO NO MONEY TO FEED THEIR FAMILY!" The sniper shouted, his voice changing tone in a very rapid mood swing. "Have you seen a child starving? Of course you have, in those Red Cross advertisements where they put African children on the TV screen to persuade the audience to spend a dollar a day to feed those children. But guess what? While you fools were looking far into the global world, YOU NEGLECT TO LOOK AT YOUR OWN NEIGHBORS! THERE ARE CHILDREN RIGHT HERE IN US IN EVEN WORSE SHAPE THAN THOSE N***ERS! DO YOU EVEN FATHOM HOW THEY MUST FEEL? HOW THEIR PARENTS MUST FEEL?!"

The sniper tossed a picture of a little girl. The child looked adorable, even though she was a mess. Behind the dirty clothes she wore and the dusty face and hair were clear blue eyes, her pale soft skin, and the goldenness of her blonde hair. A corner of the picture was covered in dried blood. As the crowd examined the content of the photo, the sniper broke down in a wrathful wailing.

"She was the most perfect daughter one could ever ask for... her name was Hailey. She was 5 years old when she was afflicted with Pneumonia. My wife died when she was raped by thugs. Hailey was 2 at the time. I worked at a construction site, heaving bricks and mixing cement, 15 hours a day. I tried to ask friends I knew: friends that had it better than I did: please, lend me some money so Hailey could get treated... none of them gave me a cent. Hailey died... because of the society run by money. From then, I vowed, for my sake... for Hailey's sake... that I will destroy this world in a blazing inferno... so that her death would not go in vain." The sniper said in between his sobbing, revealing a rather harsh truth to most of the crowd. "All of you will become victim to my vengeance, all of you who have turned a blind eye towards the poor. You will all die here."

"We need to stop those maniacs." Nitro whispered to Ethan. "Do you have any idea what to do?"

About a minute later, the Corrupt stopped struggling, out of breath. Only when the whites appeared in the Corrupt's iris did Alex let go. The Corrupt agent is probably not going to be an issue for another 10 or so minutes.

"Now we need to dispatch the other two nearby," Alex said to Drake as she took another peek over the counter. The two Corrupt agents near them were standing at the doorway that led to the dance floor area, facing away from the bar. It would be relatively easy to stealthily dispatch them if Alex and Drake acted fast. Alex looked back at Drake and found that his gash was starting to bleed a lot. If it was not treated, at least in a crude manner, the blood loss would become a detriment in an inevitable combat.

Alex looked around but there was nothing that was suitable for a bandage material near them. The tablecloth Alex was holding was her only way to asphyxiate the Corrupts, and using them to stop the bleeding would render her almost useless in a fight without a weapon. The only other option was...

Alex hesitated for a bit, and then ripped the hemline of her satin dress with her hands until a minimal amount of bandage material was procured. The satin was soft to the touch, so it will not irritate the wound, and the inner side of the satin was clean enough to apply on the wound without infecting it any further. Even if it wasn't clean enough, it will hold until the paramedic uses a real bandage. The only downsides were that Alex's dress costed her at least half a grand, and that the remainder of her dress barely covered her thighs at all.

"Here, use this." Alex candidly said to Drake as she handed him the strips of black satin.

After Ethan heard the story of the sniper, how his daughter died, he began to feel something. It was not sorrow or pity, it was rage. This man, this filth may have lost someone close to him, but he was going to kill innocent people, then justify it by saying that it was their fault for his daughter's death. That was unacceptable. If he thought that killing a bunch of random people was suddenly going to make him feel better, then perhaps it was about time to rain on his parade.

"First, we call the cops. Then, we stop these b@stards by any means necessary.", Ethan replied to Nitro in an almost emotionless, cold tone as he pulled out his transparent graphene phone and dialed 911. It was clear that Ethan was angry about the sniper, and that he might just do something risky.

"Okay, but keep the voice down." Nitro nodded as she kept watch. Then, she realized something was amiss. "Oh god, I hope Alex is okay."

911 Call Center | San Francisco, CA

A call center agent was busy filing her nails. It was almost end of her shift, and the next shift will take control in a minute or two. It's been very quiet these days, only a few prank calls and even fewer 'real' problems. Even those 'real' problems were something trivial in manner, such as a cat being stuck on a ceiling or a car not starting.

The phone rang, startling the agent a bit. She leisurely picked up the phone and asked: "911, what's your emergency?"

As soon as the operator answered, Ethan quietly, yet cleary and concisely spoke to her.

"We are in the Nexxus Club near the Civic Center. There is a group of armed Corrupt and they have planted a bomb to go off in twenty minutes. One person has already been shot and injured. We need you to hurry as fast as possible, because in twenty minutes, the bomb is going to go off and kill everyone.", Ethan said to the operator in a dead-serious tone.

"I-" The caller over the phone did not expect the response, but she was able to gather her thoughts back together. "The police is on their way, sir, I need you to stay on the phone and tell me how many Corrupts there are and if they are armed or not. Also I need you to speak up if possible, I can barely hear what you are saying."

"If I speak any louder, they'll hear me. Give me a second to count.", Ethan said in a slightly louder whisper than before, before he took his phone, activated it's camera function, and peeked it just a little bit out of cover. Thanks to how the phone was designed, it would be much harder to spot than a regular phone, allowing Ethan to move it along the edges of the tablecloth as he counted each Corrupt that appeared on the camera. Once that was done, Ethan put the phone back to his ear and reported his findings.

"More than seven on the first floor, and at least one sniper on the second floor. There's most likely more.", Ethan quietly said.

Sara Lynchwood? So you're the weapons specialist? Well, I suppose I should be grateful. I've heard many good things on you." He said with an emotionless tone. "But let's get down to business. I would greatly appreciate it if you accompanied me to the San Francisco Shakespheare Theatre. There is a performance at nine. On an investigation.

Sara pondered about the situation, the voice on the phone sounded like a high authority and also deadpanned his tone while asking something so frivolous as going to a theater, this man sounded convinced of an investigation occurring at the establishment. "Let me get some things and I will meet you on the place, we can talk later about it when we have time" she answered only with general things and not specifying anything.

The specialist ended the call and headed to her barracks, she only grabed what was necessary as ammunition, first aid kit and some other simple equipment that could be hidden easily by her coat.
