As the bloody scene of the man's head exploding unfolded in front of Ethan, he suddenly froze in what could only be explained as a trance. The red mist that erupted from the man's missing head and the stump that remained filled Ethan with a sickening horror that left him feeling as if he was in some kind of nightmare, as if what was happening around him was some surreal dream.
The sniper then began to escalate, stating that he was going to begin killing the hostages, all in an attempt to satisfy his bloodlust. All this killing and mindless violence, this insane form of vengeance over a perceived slight against this man, a man that used the death of his daughter to justify, to rationalize his insane logic, this Corrupt... was beyond redemption! Ethan didn't know -yet- how he was going to accomplish it, but enough was enough, he was going to kill that man.
As the seconds ticked by, Ethan remained silent and forgot all about relaying information to the woman on the phone. Instead, a look of unadulterated cold rage creeped across Ethan's face, replacing his relatively neutral demeanor.
Just then, Ethan heard the rustling of the tablecloth as an unidentified person began to crawl under the table. As if driven purely by instinct, Ethan turned to face the unknown person with an icy glare and a punch at the ready in case the person was hostile.
