I can guess the darker side includes the Auditor. He is one of the most powerful and evil villains i've seen from a flash animation/game.
Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

The hunchback's plan sounded very similar to the Spartan Project, the same one that created John.

If it's against a Spartan-II, then my answer still stands.
They have mutch faster reaction times and blades wouldn't do very mutch to the armor.
If you mean 12000 Spartans, then that could be a challenge, but it could be doable. The MJOLNIR armor eliminates the effects of fatigue, so the Spartan would only have to worry about sleep.
