Expect about 1gb per ep for NORMAL GROUPS. NEVER GET BLOATGIRLS BECAUSE THEY ONLY RELEASE BLOATSUBS

CoalGirls is notorious for having bloated file sizes in their releases.
But they're often the only one's releasing BDs for some shows, so apart from getting high quality raws and muxing the subs yourself,
there's not much you can do... -_-

Also just to have a say in the original topic:
My C drive is at 208/476GB free.
While my anime drive is at 384GB/2.74TB free.

If a thread gets derailed is it still ok to post what was originally intended? Well i don't care i'm doing it anyway!

Though bloatgirls might be the only group for older shows, I believe a lot of more recent shows have other groups doing the proper 1080p BD rips as well, Moose.

            You are correct.
UTW and FFF are two of the biggest groups these days,
and both of them do Blu-ray releases for their shows plus a few more.
There's also Doki, Commie, and Underwater who do the Blu-rays for some of their releases.
And a few groups that are dedicated to muxing and editing other peep's subs into Blu-ray encodes (other than CoalGirls.)

So, to concur with Remi and answer your question again, Katrix,
I would expect about 1GB per episode in 1080p
as long as someone other than CoalGirls did the encode.

Ugh don't even mention doki. Shit tier on everything.

Also, at one point I almost joined UTW as a translator, fun fact. I decided not to after i realized I was already too busy with two groups and schoolwork though, lol

                Hahaha.
They're not TOO bad. Definitely not great though. (And incredibly slow to release 80% of the shows they pick up.)

                You got me curious now:
                Which groups are/were you in?

Small groups, meaning more work for each individual. I started Ahodomo and eventually also joined Evetaku. I've worked with various groups like UTW, IB, Anxious-He as well as others. Primarily a translator but I've run the full gauntlet of jobs except for encoding and serious typesetting. (TLC, editing, QC, kfxing, styling, distro, etc)

Also, honestly yes Doki is bad T_T

Aho basically does all the touhou ova subs.

                    Wow. You've been around.
I've seen a few Aho releases. I believe it was for MajiKoi and the Minami-ke OVA.
And of course the Memories of Phantasm ep.
And EveTaku is one of my favorite groups. (They've been slugging it recently though. -_-)

I wonder if you'd be interested in translating the M-1 Grand Prix.
Not being able to see the past 2 is driving me crazy. ^.^

I thought they'd been translated already? (On youtube, I mean. Can't remember if the ones I watched were subbed or not... xD;; )

Evetaku... well, let's just say there's a reason I quit fansubbing about a year ago. On top of the fact that Eve (which had become my main group for hangouts) was starting to go down the slippery slope of "elitist cancer subs" because of a select few people in the hierarchy. Once I realized this and the fact that I was slowing down on my own group due to irl activities (as well as the other members also having irl) I decided to call it quits and left the fansubbing scene entirely except for a few OVAs here and there.

As far I can tell, the last few haven't been subbed.
(I might just suck at searching though.)

                        Oh my.
I'm glad I don't get involved in fansubbing politics (pretty easy since I don't fansub)
                        there seems be a lot of pain-in-the-assery that comes with it all. ^_^;

If you've never been involved in the fansubbing scene, take it as a blessing. Honest to god, it sucks >.>

                            Kyahaha.
                            Aye.
I have neither the time nor attention span for fansubbing.
So there's no worries of me ever getting involved beyond leeching releases. ^.^
