Karu suggested 5 seconds, while Cicero said 4 seconds was too short and to go with 7 or 8. Should we try 5.5 seconds instead?

Tbh I don't think that you need a gif signature picture unless it' s'more than 3 banners. A gif for just two seems like overkill somewhat.

I only know how to gif with uniform frame rates. How does one gif with transitions?

For the transition frames, it's just basically the next full frame layered on the previous frame at 50% opacity. It's a normal frame made to look like a smooth transition basically

but unfortunately the thing I'm using only allows one uniform frame rate which would mean I can't do 0.1 second transitions.
