Waelin stayed quiet, closing their eyes to avoid the rain getting in them, but they listened. An assignment? They were sent to rescue them directly? Why? Did they know about everything? The prison, the experiments, the cult? Questions raced through their mind as adrenaline faded from their system slightly, given they couldn't do much in this situation. They could feel the wind and rain speeding around them as the man accelerated into a full sprint. Perhaps the loss of weight helped. Though why precisely that happened in the first place confused them. All of this did. All they wanted was just to go home.

But now they couldn't. They doubted they ever could. They shivered slightly at that, though the man probably couldn't tell if it was due to the cold or not.

Even after the assault, they were still followed, the uninjured striding forth, while the injured disappeared from sight. The follower's hands glowed once more, this time a cyan. Raindrops stopped their fall, bending to the creature's command, orbiting around them. They froze them as they rotated, sharp pellets erratically being fired towards the duo in a stream.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

The man continued to run with Waelin in his arms as he continued to avoid the creature's previous attack. When the creature began to bombard them with the cyan pellets however was when things began to get tough. He tried to dodge most of them, however a few had struck him in the back, causing him to let out a audible gasp of pain before clenching his teeth. This man needed to do something fast if he wanted to get him and the girl out of this alive.Though he knew there was one thing he needed to do first.

"Listen. I'm going to pull this... horn of yours out of my shoulder! The second I do I'm going to need you to hide. After that I'm going to do my best to try and kill this damn bastard. Do you understand!?" He whispered to her in the best re-assuring tone he could muster at a time like this as they dipped into an alley. With that he took a deep breath before grabbing onto her tightly and pulling her away from his body, yanking her horn right out of his shoulder which while bleeding, was seemingly beginning to heal. It wasn't healing as fast the monster's chasing them, but definitely faster than an ordinary human.

After pulling her horn out of his shoulder he let go of her "Now hide!" Was all that he said as he then turned around, his spear suddenly manifesting back into his hand via a series of sparks and surges of electricity. However this time he stuck his hand into the air as a bolt of lightning came crashing down from the sky, through his spear, and into his body which was beginning to glow an electric blue as electricity coursed around his body. It was as if his entire body was acting as some sort of lightning rod, absorbing the electrical energy.

"As much as I appreciate the advice..." Waelin spoke with near empty as they were pried out, blood from the horn rolling down into their hair, rubbing the water from their eyes quickly.

"Those... creatures have been tracking me wherever I hide for the last few hours. I would if I could, but I can't." Waelin spoke, her voice tinged with pain.as they still felt that slam keenly, but it wasn't as bad as they thought it would've been. "They can come and go anywhere, even completely sealed rooms. And there's only one there. Where's the second?"

"If they can come and go anywhere, then my guess is the second one is either coming around for a sneak attack, or had retreated. My bets are on the former." He said as he continued to hold up his spear, drawing in and absorbing one more bolt of lightning. Electricity arching around his body as a blue aura flared up around him, his eyes glowing a bright electric blue. Having basically supercharged himself with the lightning he absorbed, he readied his weapon and waited, hopefully this supercharged state of his would give him the speed and power to take out at least one of these bastards.

"It's been a while since I had a run-in with one of these damn things in particular. Forgot how frustrating they can be..." He mumbled to himself as he then looked over his shoulder at Waelin. "If you can't run, and you can't hide then find some cover." The man spoke as he began scanning the area for the creatures, or for anything they might pull.

"If we survive, There's some serious questions I have for you..."

"One step at a time." Waelin curtly replied before moving out of the way, keeping to the walls of the closest building. "If the second comes, i'll yell for you."

The creature's pace slowed, but it's rotating orbs continued firing out ice, simply to keep the slayer constantly on the move. In fact, the pace of icicles had increased, the downpour continuing to supply it with practically limitless ammunition. It's hands glowed a myriad of colours once more as it's movements grew more predatory and careful, ready to move or cast at a moment's notice.

Seeing the creature get into sight prompted him to begin spinning his spear in front of him, but the speed of which was much faster than it was previously due to his electrically supercharged body, his spear appearing as a spinning, glowing blue disk as he began block more of the ice shards. That which he didn't block was getting zapped and destroyed by small streaks of lightning arcing off his body. This wasn't a perfect defense however, as a few shards didn't manage to get through, striking him several times in his torso and arms while others grazed his skin, all of this causing him to wince in pain as he quickly stopped spinning his spear, shooting a bolt of electricity towards the monster.

However the man didn't stop there, as just as the lightning shot from the tip of his spear, the man seemingly disappeared, his turning into an orb of electricity that traveled along the lightning from his spear. All of this happening in a very quick succession as he reappeared to the creature's right, almost as if he was as fast as lightning itself in his supercharged state. As soon as he reappeared however, he took his spear and jabbed it towards the monsters torso.

The creature turned into a blur of motion from the first attack. One hand settled on white, shield flaring to life to intercept the first lightning strike. The hand's angle swiftly adjusted, discharging the energy as it intercepted the spear. It's whole body swiveled on one foot as it did so, putting the creature's front towards the slayer. The ring of flowing water continued to freeze and fling, the creature's other hand settling on white as well. Much like before, strings shot out towards the slayer, aiming for their limbs and spear, looking to leave them helpless.

Waelin watched with great unease from the side of the street, her ears listening for the slightest noise that sounded off.

She glanced around her surroundings, looking to the garbage left at the side of the road. A half-broken bottle caught their eye. It wasn't the best of weapons, but it could buy them a bit of time if the second showed it's face. Or if they needed to distract, Either or, it at least gave them a larger sense of safety.

The man was continuing his attack against the monster, rapidly attempting to stab and slash it while constantly moving around it so as not to get hit despite having taken another couple shots here and there. As the horrible creature shot the strings out towards him in an attempt to bind him though, the man instead of dodging to the right or left suddenly leapt high into the air above the creature, Body still supercharged with energy he swiftly pointed his electrically charged spear before coming crashing down like a bolt of lightning, all while using the last of his energy he stored in his body to increase the speed and force of his attack.

The creature's head merely tilted at the leap. Moments before impact, they would find their momentum completely stopped. The creature's hand found it's way to the spear's shaft. Then they proceeded to slam the man to the sidewalk hard, the pavement cracking slightly at the immense application of force.

It smiled again as it looked down to them, it's water wall falling as it figured this game was over. It flipped the spear in their hands, pulling it back to skewer the man into the earth.

But then, a pitter-patter. Footfalls. The creature stiffened, barely able to twist before a weight fell upon their back. A hand came into the creature's view for a moment before green glass shoved itself into one of their eyes.

The creature wailed it's dirge of the damned, dropping the spear as it clawed at it's face. Waelin expected this, though, and they shoved their sharpened thumb into the other socket, black and red spilling out from the creature's face as it grew frantic, reaching around for the back the get the horrid thing off of themselves. But Waelin wasn't quite done, pushing further into the socket and pulling the creature's head back, causing it to stumble backwards in response.

"Gut it now! NOW!" Waelin called out as the creature finally found them, proceeding to try to rip them off, but their grip on the inside of it's head was strong, leaving a perfectly exposed body to exploit.

The man was caught off guard when he found himself getting brutally smacked into the pavement. A sickening crunch as he felt the bones in his arm and should cracking, but not completely fracturing. It was definitely painful as he looked up. For a moment he figured this was actually going to finally be the end as he closed his eyes... But then between the sound of the rain and thunder, he heard the footsteps of another person before the sounds of intense screeching pain from the creature. Hearing this he opened his eyes and saw the creature struggling to get Waelin off as she impaled the creature with her piece of sharp glass.

He didn't even really need Waelin to give him the command when he saw this, Instead he forced himself to a painful stand as he grabbed his spear with his still good hand, taking it and jabbing the tip into the monster's torso before attempting to slide it up through the creature's torso in an attempt to split the entirety of the creature's torso open, all while using the last bit of energy he had to discharge electricity straight into the creature.

The skewer worked wonderfully, piercing through it, shattering it's ribcage and piercing it's spine. It's noises rose to a fever pitch before the electricity was pumped through. It's already wet body was a perfect conductor, causing the entire thing to seize and rattle. But that discharge partially hit Waelin too, who went momentarily bug-eyed before the creature's grip loosened and they went falling to the ground. They jittered slightly on the ground, trying to steady themselves.

The creature fell back, it's smoking body collapsing to the ground in a still spasming heap. Blood pooled, filling part of the street with red.

And yet on the rooftops opposite, the other watched. It's damaged leg had extended, working as a stilt. It was perfectly still, perfectly silent. Aside from the rain, there was naught a sound.

Having finally killed one of the damn things, the man watched as it fell to the ground, hopefully dead. After the creature dropped to the ground, the man's spear disappeared into a series of small sparks that dissipate. Then once that was done the man grabbed his currently injured arm and nearly fell himself, but thankfully managed to catch himself. That is when he looked up at Waelin.

"Ugh... Sorry about that... You okay...?" He asked despite his own condition being quite bad itself.

"Could... could be better." Waelin admitted, bringing themselves up to their feet. They scanned the area, eyes eventually finding the second. The two stared for a couple moments before Waelin's mouth tightened.

"Is staring all you're going to do, you anorexic fuck!?" Waelin called out. "Where's the attitude? The constant fuckin' whispering? When are you gonna' come down here so I can rip out your beady little eyes just like I did to your friend, huh? Huh?!"

It did not reply. It only stared. But then, it turned, moving away out of sight.

"Get back here, you bastard! We aren't done, you hear me!?" Waelin's voice cracked, her hands shaking with rage. But the creature was gone. Her gaze narrowed and lips parted for a moment, revealing a row of razor-sharp teeth arranged neatly before they grit them slightly, banging one of their knees with a fist as they did so.

"God damn it." Waelin cursed, voice shifting to something more melancholy, more restrained. Their mind focused on more pressing matters. Such as the man, their yellow eyes locking onto their struggling form. The girl moved over to their savior, offering a hand up.

The man could only look up and watch as the creature just... walked off. Seeing this the man's brow furrowed in contemplation as to what it might be planning. Either it's retreating, it's going to get some back up, or is just waiting for a sneak attack. No matter the case, the man took Waelin's hand.

"It's gone. For now..." He said as he looked her dead in the eye, examining her closely. She... wasn't human. Or at least, used to be. Her features were much very odd. Her horn, her eyes... hell even her teeth were... strange. Normally this would be the time he'd ask questions, but right now there was more important matters at hand.

After the creature walked away the man began walking, his injuries causing him to stagger a bit. After all one side of his body was hurting like hell at the moment. "We need to get moving... There's someone we can rendezvous with. We'll be safer, more strength in numbers... Should be south of here." He said as he began to look for a street sign for directions, and after spotting one he began to move despite his injuries.

"Alright." Waelin's voice seemed to calm as they walked beside the man, noting their injuries. They got the worst of it, though she herself probably had some kind of nerve damage now from that shock. That was probably going to be pretty bad later, but they pushed it away alongside a plethora of questions before focusing on them. "Do you want any help walking? I'm no athlete, but I can help a bit."
