Nick had gritted his teeth when he had seen that this creature's spit could easily burn him away with acid, but right as soon as he saw the acid hit the floor, he heard a deafening battlecry that echoed through the night.

    "ORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

On reflex, Nicholas closed his eyes and braced himself as a priest wielding an enormous cross batted the monster off as if it were a baseball. With his eyes closed, he could hear the priest running off towards the monster, perhaps to finish the creature off, but then another pair of footsteps approached Nicholas. Nicholas opened up his eyes once more and looked at the person standing over him, a girl clad in nothing but her undergarments with her hand outstretched to him.

"You alright? Glad we got in time; any second later and you would've at least had third-degree burns all across your skin."

For a moment, Nicholas laid still, simply staring at the woman in disbelief. Nicholas couldn't tell if he was suddenly inside of a strange dream after making it home safely, if he was simply crazy, or if this was really happening. Such events could never happen, could they? It all felt so surreal to Nicholas that he couldn't move for a few seconds, his only actions being him staring back up at the girl's oddly glowing purple eyes.

Finally, the monster roaring snapped Nicholas back into reality and he was finally responsive to the woman.

"Y..yea...", Nicholas uttered as he took the girl's hand and accepted her assistance in getting back up.

"Good." Bora smiled gently at Nick and turned around to find that Father Bernard has finished pummeling the Omen to a bloody pulp. Withdrawing his iron cross, he walked back to Bora and Nick, the dead Omen turning to purple mist on the background. "Ah, done already?"

"Yes." Father Bernard nodded, glancing a look at Nick then back at his partner. "I assume he's alright?"

"Seems like none of the acid got him, yes." Bora smiled lightly. She looked pretty, like a model. Nick could swear he saw her face from a passing glance before as she turned to look at Nick. "Well, let's get you to your home, now-"

Bora suddenly froze, looking around as if she could feel something. Her purple lens glowed for a bit as she detected another Omen close to them. "There's another one. Close."

Koishi was hiding behind a seemingly empty trash can... but because of the spectacle in front of her, Koishi did not realize that something crept up behind her... a horrid spider-like being with claw-like arms that reached out to strike the green-haired girl.

      Spoiler:

"Another one?" Father Bernard's face hardened as he brought back out his iron cross and scanned the front. "Where is it?"

"Hold on... it's- there!" Bora turned around to check the backside to notice the spider-like Omen ready to strike... something. Closer inspection showed a familiar-looking hat with specks of light green hair. "Wait... is that...?!"

Bora realized what was happening. Another Omen snuck behind Bora and Father Bernard from a safe distance as to not be detected by her Lens of the Judicator, found that one girl she met in the photo shoot, and cornered her. Father Bernard could easily take that lesser Omen, but he would not be able to reach it in time to save the girl. Bora was closer, and if she reached out a bit she could maybe protect the girl... at the expense of bodily harm.

"KOISHI!" Bora shouted to grab the girl from before's attention... and right before the Omen could strike Koishi, Bora leaped in front of her, taking the claw attacks for Koishi before Father Bernard stepped in and struck the spider straight in its' abdomen, sending it flying a bit before landing far away.

Maya's Room | Valhalla High School

Maya was tossing and turning, waiting for Rez to return to his room. Continuous, hopeful trips to his room provided no fruits as his still packed luggage stood at the corner. She did not know his cell phone number... she didn't even know if Rez HAD a cell phone to begin with; either way it would be impossible to reach Rez over by phone. It was too late to go out and search for him in fear of the serial killer loose somewhere... As time passed, Maya was growing slowly and slowly insane due to anxiety.

"Oh no... what happened, Rez... please come back..." Maya stuttered, releasing cold sweat as she laid in her bed, squirming and crying worrisome tears. She was clutching her pillow like it was Rez... for some reason she was truly feeling worried for the guy, not just as a friend, but as a roommate... or something even greater than that. She continued for several more minutes before the alluring force of sleep overtook her... even in her sleep she was muttering Rez's name over, and over again...

Koishi processed everything that just occurred, slowly but surely, mainly upon realizing her only friend in this town was now seemingly gutted and bleeding out in front of her. That... that wan't good.

Koishi rolled up her sleeves, saying not a word as she crawled over and applied pressure to the wound, stopping a fair portion of the blood from coming out.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid." Koishi muttered to herself. "Why, why, why?"

She couldn't understand. Why would someone throw their life away to save someone like herself? Part of her attire now had some blood speckled on it from the whole affair, which she just used to soak up the blood at this point.

"Just... why?" she thought out loud, hoping to get a response from Bora. Her face was just contorted in confusion and sadness.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

It took a second for Nicholas to process what had just happened, due to him still attempting to recover from how surreal this entire experience was, how bewhildered he felt in the middle of it all. However, once that moment passed, Nicholas's mind was brought back into focus, and what he saw was that one of his rescuers were injured. Nicholas felt a pang of shock rock his stomach, but it was clear that now was not the time for hesitation. Putting his current emotions to the side, Nicholas ran to the aid of his rescuer.

"How bad is it?", Nicholas asked as he hastily crouched next to Koishi, assessing Bora's injuries.

After clobbering the small-fry of an Omen, Father Bernard turned to Koishi and the injured Bora with a surprisingly tender and worried look for a man as big as him. "Bora... you should not have charged in recklessly like that."

Slowly, Bora turned to look at her comrade. Her soft, peach-colored skin was marred with raw, red slash wound across her stomach. "But... Father... if I didn't... this girl... could've died..."

Turning her head to Koishi, Bora then asked a question that Koishi would want to ask her instead. "You alright... Koishi?"

"Yes, yes, but you, you're not, you're bleeding everywhere and there' not much to hold it in and there could be a lot more bad stuff under all that." Koishi spewed out the words in a quick, frenzied manner ass she tried to continue trying to hold in Bora's blood.

"We need to get you to a hospital or somethin'. Blood's not good about stayin' in one place. Or stopping coming out of people." Koishi tried to focus herself.

"Uhhh, we can say it's an animal attack or something. It'd be mostly right, I think." Koishi tried to think, and think hard, something she wasn't that used to.

Nicholas had inspected the wound, and from what he saw, it was quite serious. If they weren't careful, Bora's wound would cause her to bleed out entirely before they could get to a hospital. What they needed to do was at least try and treat the wound and buy her more time. Thinking quickly, Nicholas suddenly spoke up as he stood up and looked at the priest that had saved him just moments ago.

"I might have something at home that could at least slow the bleeding till we can get her some professional help.", Nicholas said to Father Bernard before turning in the opposite direction and running as fast as he could toward home.

Father Bernard knelt down to inspect the wound. A large gash, starting from her left rib and ending at her right pelvis, marred Bora's otherwise flawless abdomen. Tiny little blue lines outlined the gash, which meant that Bora was afflicted with some sort of Omen poison. While the slash itself can be cured through mundane first-aid that the young boy was offering before he ran off to presumably his home, the poison will have to be extracted through a special technique.

"Wait!" Father Bernard called out to Nick. "There could be more Omen; it's unsafe for you to go off to your home right now."

Turning to look at both Koishi and Nick, Father Bernard came up with an idea... "Hmm... how about you two both follow me? Having witnesses this event, I'm afraid you two know too much now..."

                  Dream

Maya opened her eyes after what seemed like a great night of sleep to find that she was not alone in her bed. Surprised by the sudden revelation, Maya looked to the left to find Rez, staring at Maya with intense adoration. His eyes would gaze at her face, then down at her naked body, then back at her face, with a surprisingly gentle, non-lewd smile. Something about his intense gaze, his smiles... it made Maya feel really safe.

"Rez..." Maya muttered. Rez embraced her tightly and lovingly, which reassured Maya. The boy that she loved... was sharing the same bed together, giving her hugs, whispering comforting words at her ears... She couldn't be happier...

Koishi looked up at Bernard, emerald eyes shining under the light above.

"As long as it gets Bora to somewhere safe." Koishi replied, looking back to the woman in question. "I won't let a friend die. Not after givin' me snickery doodles and hats. That's real friendship."

She looked back to Bernard. "Do you think we'll be able to move her while she's like this, though?"

"Ah, so you two have acquainted before." Father Bernard acknowledged that Koishi and Bora met before, then moved on hastily to the next question in mind. "As long as she is carried by me, she should be fine. However, this bleeding will have to be stopped right now."

Father Bernard swung his giant iron cross to position it parallel to the ground and laid it down gently right next to Bora. Then he bowed his head, clasped his hands together and began praying in some foreign language: possibly Latin. As he chanted, some sort of holy, soothing aura emanated from the Father, closing Bora's wound at a somewhat amazing pace for current modern medicine.

Right before Nicholas could leave the alleyway, he then heard the priest that had saved him call out. Nicholas slowed to a stop, then looked over to Father Bernard, thinking about how badly the girl was injured. If they didn't do anything, she would most likely die, but as he quietly listened to the priest and the hatted girl speak to one another, he approached, but as he did, he saw that Father Bernard had laid his cross down and was.. praying? That was what it looked like to Nicholas, but at the same time, it seemed almost as if he was performing magic, for the injured girl's wounds suddenly began to heal.

Nicholas was silent throughout the entire process, but after Bora's wounds had healed, Nicholas finally decided to speak and asked a question.

"How.. How did you do that?", Nicholas almost hesitantly asked, not really sure if what he was seeing was even real.

A few minutes of focused prayer managed to close Bora's wound to the level of bleeding out to death, although it was still raw and gaping and needed treatment. Slinging her over his shoulders and vanishing the iron cross, Father Bernard addressed Nick's utter disbelief with a simple command.

"Follow me, and all shall be answered." Father Bernard bluntly responded, then turned to Koishi as well before heading off back to where he came from. "You too."

Koishi just accepted what she was seeing. Considering her night so far, it all seemed quite normal at this point. Besides, since Bora was safe, she felt her spirits rise again, a small smile forming on her face.

"Lead the way, big fella. As long as you have a washer or somethin'. Blood's hard to get out, you know?" Koishi replied.

In that moment, Nicholas did not know what to do. Should he follow this strange man back to god knows where, or should he just go back home and continue his day. It was clear that this man was not normal, and that whatever he did was truly dangerous work with danger and death at every corner, but Nicholas still felt curiosity tugging at him to follow this man. Besides, even if he wanted nothing to do with whatever this man was involved with, it was already too late. Nicholas had been attacked by some kind of monster, which meant that he clearly wasn't safe if he just pretended that it didn't happen and went back home.

With that in mind, Nicholas looked over to Father Bernard and silently nodded at him before speaking, albeit in a rather unsure and apprehensive tone.

"Sure. I'll go.", Nicholas said to the man, trailing off at the end. After pausing for a bit, he realized that he still did not know this man's name. Just who exactly saved him?

"Uhhh, what should we call you?", Nicholas finally asked the man with the same rather unsure tone as before.

"You may call me Father Bernard." The Father responded simply. He wasn't one for much talk: the others can explain everything once he escorts the survivors of the Omen assault. "I'll take you to someone who can explain everything."

A few minutes passed before Father Bernard eventually took the two to what looked like a convenience store of sorts. It looked like a family-owned type, with the owner's residence on the second floor and the store itself on the first. In no circumstances would this be considered a hideout for any secret monster-killing group.

"We've arrived." Father Bernard muttered as he quickly glanced at everyone to see if they were alright. Bora fell unconscious, but the wound was well sealed as it didn't gush out blood all over Father Bernard's tunic. "The leader of the Prophets is inside. Go ahead, enter."
