John knew that there was no way to hit the Duskull while it was underground, so the best that could be done was to brace for the inevitable impact whenever it decided to emerge from the ground.
"Astron, use Harden.", John called out to the Staryu.
Now, it was just a matter of waiting for the Duskull to attack.

When Duskull appeared, his normally empty sides had two apparitions of a fist ready for boxing. He Shadow Punched, to which Astron ducked with ease. Astron itself threw a punch with one of its' hand-like appendage at Duskull, who took the full blast but still remained standing. He was darn tanky.

"Kogasa, use Poison Sting!"
Suddenly, burst from the treeline came Kogasa, tail arched and ready to strike as she flew with great speed towards the Duskull.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.
You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"Oof!" The Duskull lost focus when the poison dart hit him, allowing Astron to follow up with a blast of water that knocked Duskull out.
Two down. What will Gastly do?
"No! I give up! I surrender!" The Gastly said helplessly. Her high-pitched voice sounded almost cute now that she did not have her boldness and her façade.

Renamon walked towards the sphere of darkness and spoke "I see you like to pull pranks on people, but have the reasoning to know when to quit" she said knelting on one knee
"You can be a strong one if you follow us, would you like that?" the fox asked showing her pokeball

The Gastly groaned as she glared at the three Pokemon she must confront if she provoked them: Diana; recovering from the battle quite swiftly, Astron; still relishing over its' victory, and Kogasa; standing on its' small pair of feet. They all looked formidable, and who is to say that they won't attack all at once?
Then, the Gastly realized something. If she wants to become like her brother who evolved into a Haunter a few weeks ago, she needs to step up her game.
"Alright, fine. I'll tag along with you then."
Gotcha! Gastly was caught!

As soon as Renamon captured her new ally, she released her. Before the ghost could ask, she explained "My friends can be free while we travel and only be in the spheres when they truly need it, so let´s be good friends" the fox spoke with a faint smile
