A shadowy Pokemon with two bright gems greeted Koishi's party. Looking at it closer, the Pokemon had a dark purple body and a red gemstone embedded on its chest.

"I've known you since when you were a wee Geodude, young one." The Sableye hissed. "I'm not going to let you off this mountain easily."

"WHAT?" The gentleman raised his stubby eyebrows in faked amazement. "You mean, you call yourself a trainer and has not even heard of a Poketch?"

John looked over to the man with the Skitty and slightly tilted his head as he spoke. What exactly was the man talking about? Was Poketech just another word for any technology involving Pokemon? Wanting to know more, John asked the man a question about "Poketech."

"Do you mean like Pokeballs?", John asked the man.

"Noooooo, my good armored friend, let me tell you about Poketch." The plump gentleman wrapped his arm around John and shined his watch at him.

"Poketch is a personal tool where you can use one of 25 applications that can help you with your journey as a trainer!' The gentlemen explained. "It's a watch, a calculator, pedometer, a pokemon list, friendship checker, a dowsing machine... the list goes on and on!"

"Right now, I'm holding a promotional sale! If you find three clown-like people in this town and beat them in a Pokemon battle, you can get a free Poketch! Piques your interest, doesn't it?"

John raised an eyebrow inside of his helmet and squinted. John had little knowledge about how civilian life worked, but all this smelled like a trap. Then again, even if it was a trap consisting of three people, John would easily be capable of subduing them. Even if his abilities were diminished, he was still a Spartan-II. He still had all the skills and talent he had attained through brutal training, and if need be, he still could lift a car. He had guns, but it would not be wise to use it on the locals. John would risk stirring up trouble for Renamon and himself.

"My suit can already do half of that stuff, but I'm listening. Please continue.", John calmly said to the man.

"First of all, if you can do half of the things Poketch does, then you can still take it and be able to do the other half of the things you can do! Besides, even if you don't want it, battling the clown trainers will give your darling Pokemon some experience!"

John thought about it for a moment and nodded at the man. Sure, it might be a trap, but if it wasn't then Renamon could easily gain an important tool from the ordeal. In fact, John could possibly replicate it on his suit and have a spare. Either way, their Pokemon would gain experience, so each outcome was beneficial.

"Okay, we'll go check it out. It will be useful.", John calmly said to the man and Renamon.

Finding the clowns in the city weren't difficult at all, because of how gawdy they were dressed and how loud they were shouting.

"Poketch Promotional Sale! Win three battles for your free Poketch today!"

Renamon looked at the clowns and felt rather weird at how they went around the city wearing such clothes, but then she remembered she and John were obviously the weird looking beings

"Well Diana, how are feeling? ready for battle?" she asked to her friend

After eating the food, the combee was revitalized "Im more than ready for it, letīs battle!" she said with fire on her eyes

"Alright! Looks like we got some feisty competitors!" The first clown who was by the PokeMart giggled. "Go, Bidoof!"

A regular old Bidoof was summoned out of the Pokeball.

Bidoof - Lv: 5

"Bidoof, use Tackle!" The clown shouted, and the Bidoof took action, charging into the fray of battle at Diana.

John gave one look at the clown and slumped his shoulders in complete confusion. Why, just why would someone embarrass themselves by caking makeup onto their faces and parading themselves down the street? Had they no dignity? After clearing his mind of the absurd sight, he took an evaluation of Aegis. Aegis was still in very good condition and would easily be able to fight. Now that Renamon and him had some experience with each other's moves, they would be able to quickly and easily coordinate their attacks.

"Let's go then.", John calmly said as he nodded at Renamon and Diana.

Lyrica had a slightly indignant face on her. "Kid? I'm not that young! Ok...maybe a bit...but still! ...Uhm..." She paused for a moment, thinking through what she was saying. "Actually...I'm just curious about it, cause Someone told me I should take a quick look at an area with lockers and see if I can...fetch something for them." She was lying slightly on purpose, seeing if she could convince the man to possibly help her.

Diana evaded the tackle and prepared her gust attack while flying on quick dives "Im going to give my all on battling, so donīt expect me to fall easily" the combee said attacking with her wind powers

"Well I'll be..." The punk took the key, examined it, and gave it back to Lyrica. He had a quite confused look on his face. "That's Team Rocket's warehouse key. What's a girl like you doing with this?"

"Kuu... very strong!" The clown giggled. "You two must be some expert trainers! This is your first Poketch ticket!"

The clown handed John and Renamon a bright pink ticket with a black 1 written on it.

"Go find two more clowns!"

"They dropped it." She then tacked on to make a slightly different story to keep the man impressed. "After they ran off from the threat of me possibly beating them real good." She fidgeted slightly, hoping the man would buy her 'half-truth' story.
