Professor drew his dress shirt sleeve back to check the time on his wristwatch. "3:25 PM... I guess I have a bit of time left before I head off to Kanto."

"Now, who are you, dear?" Professor Rowan asked Renamon with a stern, inquisitive face.

      ____________________________

Once Chung was back in Oldale Town he looked at Sandbite's Pokeball. "That was a close one..." He said as he stood up.

"That path was too dangerous... You did get hurt pretty badly. I guess we should practice first and get the hang of battling or whatever." Chung said as he sighed.
"But first we need to get you healed up Sandbite..." Said the young trainer as he looked at the Pokemon Center in the distance. "That nurse said they heal Pokemon there or something... perhaps that is where I should go..." He said as he made his way to the Pokemon Center.

When he entered the Center he looked around nervously as he walked up to the counter. When he did Nurse Joy turned to him and smiled.

"Oh it's you again. Did you get your Pokemon from the Professor?" She asked kindly.

"Y-Yea... I did... but he's injured... I encountered a creature... er... I mean Pokemon that looked like an acorn. Do you think you can help Sandbite?"

Nurse Joy giggled "Oh you encountered a Seedot, and I will be glad to restore your Pokemon to full health! Now please hand over your Pokeball and I''ll get right to work!" She replied kindly as Chung handed over Sandbite's Pokeball.

As Nurse Joy received the Pokeball she turned away from Chung and put it in a odd machine. Suddenly the machine lit up brightly as a light scanned over the Pokeball inside the machine. After the process was done she took the Pokeball and handed it back to Chung. "Here you go sir! I restored your Pokemon to full health." She said as Chung took back the Pokeball.

"Thank you..." Said Chung as he waved goodbye to her.

"Have a nice day, and be careful!"

Chung then left the Pokemon Center. "Okay Sandbite if we are going to go to Petalburg City we better get prepared!" So let's go do some training!" He said as he ran off towards Route 101 to train.

        Snowpoint Temple

The real Snorunt broke away from the copies, who stood in place, and went up to Koishi.

"Get us out of here before they stop infighting." the Snorunt said.

Koishi picked up the little fella and started running, leaping over the ice instead of dealing with it. She rushed up the steps and out of the temple, panting as she stepped out into the snow, where it still sparkled. The duplicates were probably faded by now, and the two both hoped that the two were still fighting, lest they have to face them again.

The walk to the Pokemon Center was quiet. Too quiet, if you asked Koishi. Not a rustling of the wind, and only to sound of her feet crunching snow filled the air. Koishi would find what was down there one day, but not today. Night was very close at hand, and piercing eyes of nocturnal pokemon could be seen in the trees, simply staring in intrigue at the duo.

Eventually, they reached the center, heading up the escalator and heading into the rented out room. She set the Snorunt on the counter, and she lied down in her bed.

"Is it later now?" Koishi asked.

The Snorunt fidgeted around a little. "I guess."

"So you can talk. How?" Koishi asked.

"All of us pokemon can talk, you humans just have to listen." the Snorunt explained.

"But i'm not human." Koishi started. "I'm a youkai."

"Never heard of it." the Snorunt replied. "Actually, I don't think I ever caught your name."

Koishi smiled. "Mine's Koishi. Nice to met you, little fella."

"Could you stop calld me that, just call me Snorunt or somethin'." the Snorunt retorted, an annoyed tone in it's voice.
        e
"But that's your species, ain't it? How about....." Koishi made a thinking pose for a moment, looking out the window at the snow. "Snow?"

The Snorunt turned away for a moment, revealing the little diamond shapes on it's back, before turning back. "Yeah, I think that'll do."

"Well, I think it's about time we get some shut-eyes, don't ya think lit.. I mean, Snow." Koishi chuckled a little bit at her own screw up.

"Okay then. You have your little bed, I have my little bed." Snow said.

"Good night." Koishi said, tucking herself in.

"Good night." Snow responded, dropping down from the counter onto the small bed Kosihi made for her.

Koishi turned off the light, and both of them went to sleep.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

Renamon greeted the professor with a light bow with her head My name is Renamon professor Rowan, its a pleasure to meet you" she said calmly

On the other hand Diana was more enthusiastic "Hi there professor, Im Diana, Rena´s partner" the combee greeted him with a smile

"A pleasure." Professor Rowan said. "Have a seat here... Lucas!"

A boy wearing a white scarf appeared from behind the wall. The boy had a red beret with a pokeball marking on it. He was carrying a large box of what seemed to be a packet of Repels.

"I cleaned up all the Grimers."

"Good work." Professor complimented. "Do wash your hands, and serve our guests some coffee."

"Yes, professor." Lucas went straight to work.

"...remember, you want to cherish your Pokemon with love." Professor Birch urged Yuuka as she prepared to leave the Littleroot town and go back to Petalburg City.

"Oh I'll give Lilac lots of love, that is for sure." Yuuka chuckled and cuddled Lilac. Using Yuuka as pillow, the Eevee was sleeping soundly.

"Another thing. Here's something that every trainer should have." Professor Birch handed Yuuka a digital encyclopedia.

            "What is this?"

"It's a Pokedex." Professor Birch explained. "It's a hi-tech encyclopedia that records the information of the Pokemon you've caught and seen."

"Completing the Pokedex gives you an honorary Professorship from the Professors of around the world!" May added.

"Professorship, huh?" Yuuka imagined. What if Gensokyo suddenly had an outbreak of Pokemon? While every other Youkai are busy running from the critters, she would be the only knowledgable source of information about them!

She could be the most powerful Youkai!

"I guess that's a fair thing to do." Yuuka took the Pokedex and stuffed it into her handbag.

"Here are some Pokeballs to help you get started." May handed five red-and-white balls used for capturing Pokemon.

"But I don't even know how to catch one." Yuuka flustered.

"Go to Petalburg Gym. The leader, Norman, can teach you how to catch Pokemon."

Looking at all the equipment, the fox was curious about many things "So professor, I have been wondering about how everything works arounf here, I just received six pokeballs and a pokedex within a letter with a note on it" she said taking the letter out of her breast pocket

"I come from faraway lands, but receiving something from here should mean the person who sent it had a good reason, it says I should find him in Iron island" Renamon explained while taking a seat

Upon hearing that Renamon was from a "faraway land", John turned his head over to her. John was actually a little bit surprised by her revelation. She did look like one of the many Pokemon in this world. Was she like him? Was she from another world? If that was the case, then John might have a way to go home.

"You're not from around here? Where exactly are you from?", John calmly asked Renamon.

Dawn broke over Snowpoint, and Koishi sat up and gave a big yawn, while Snow was already up, looking out the window.

                  "Mornin'." Snow said.

"Morning to you as well." Koishi got out of bed, streching a little.

"I think you should get a pokeball or two." Snow suggested.

"And what would that be?" Koishi rose an eyebrow.

"They're little red and white balls. Pokemon trainers use them to catch pokemon. At least that's what I heard from some people once." Snow explained.

"But wouldn't that cost money?" Koishi asked.

"Well, yeah." Snorunt said. "I'm guessing you don't have any on you?"

                  Koishi shook her head.

"Darn." Snorunt muttered to itself. "We'll figure out someway."

After that, Koishi and Snow headed out, Snow perched on Koishi's hat again.

John felt slightly disheartened that Renamon was from this world. It seemed that John was the only one that was transported to this world. The worst part was, John had no idea how he arrived here. The last thing he remembered was that he fell asleep in his bed and woke up in a forest.

"Okay. Just wondering.", John calmly said to Renamon.

John took a moment to think about what to say. Renamon already knew that he wasn't from around here. He acted like he was from another planet, like an alien. John knew that he was going to get very little help if he kept his secret, so he decided to rely on luck and tell Renamon about himself. Perhaps even the professor would hear and would help him as well.

"The truth is.. I'm not from around here. I'm not from this planet, and if I'm right, not from this dimension either. The reason for my size and me wearing this armor is because I am a Spartan-II super-soldier from a dimension where humanity was on the brink of extinction. I have no idea how I got here, but what I do know is that I was sleeping when I was transported here.", John said with little emotion.

"Ahem, anyway." Professor Rowan interrupted. On the table, there were three cups of black coffee, simmering smoke and aroma. "Let me explain to you the basis of Pokemon and their origin."

"I am not the expert on Pokemon origin: that is Professor Juniper's expertise. However, through my careful analysis of evolution, I have concluded that all Pokemon came from one origin: a single-celled organism known simply as M." Professor Rowan started. "The organism M split into two Pokemon: Mew and Arceus, who in turn became the basis of genetic makeup for all Pokemon."

John looked at the coffee and debated as to whether or not he should remove his helmet. John never really liked to remove his armor. For him, it was a second skin, his skin. Perhaps John would drink it later, when it had cooled off. John just patiently listened to Prof. Rowan.

"Who are Mew and Arceus?", John asked Prof. Rowan.

Koishi and Snorunt headed out of the city and into the area simply known as the Acuity Lakefront, due to it's vicinity to Lake Acuity. Some tall grass was in the way if she wanted to get anywhere, so she went into it, and went a few steps forward.

"You would think someone would cut the grass." Koishi chuckled.

"But it's all nice, and provides some warmth if you're really cold. Besides, it feels good." Snow replied.
