The fox was rather calm with the city for some reason "I would prefer to be in the woods though, it feels more like home" she trailed off as they got into a mart

Renamon offered some money to the spartan "What you are searching for isn´t hard to find, for what I see most marts are for the pokemon"

Chuckling, Lyrica couldn't help but think of the perfect contrast the two girls created. "Can't wait to see the menu...hopefully the eggrolls are good..." She coughed lightly. "You know, I just thought about something...what do Pokémon eat?" She held a finger to her chin in thought. "I mean...what kind of food? Do they need something special or could it be any normal food?"

The researchers when they were presented with the data relieved themselves of fear and doubt. However, they made disappointing grunts and sighs as Sherry alerted them of Team Anarchy's data counterfeiting. The head researcher especially seemed troubled, for it was his duty to keep their data from being stolen in the first place. Determined to resolve this issue, the head researcher devised a plan: a plan that won't be possible without Sherry.

"Thank you so much for bringing the data back to us." The head researcher thanked Sherry. "But as long as they still have a copy of the data, we must be vigilant."

"Chief, we have intel that the thief is heading to Slateport City." A researcher who had a bleeding head reported: his wound fixed so that he won't have any more blood loss.

"Send a dispatch team at once!" The head researcher answered, and the researcher, along with the crying woman scientist, briskly went to do the bidding. "We need contact with Tech Troop as well. We have to shut them down!"

"Aye, Chief!" Rest of the researcher nodded and ran back to the building to carry out the head researcher's plan. They might've panicked awhile ago, but they were the elites when it came to getting things done.

"Shameless to say, we need your help again, ma'am." The head researcher pleaded. "We will give you a hefty reward, so can you be of aid to us once again?"

"Pokemon eat same food as humans do." Leaf announced. "They just have a distinct preference of what flavor they like."

"For example, my Cyndaquil loves sour food, but can't stand anything bitter." Crystal added.

Apparently, this Team Anarchy was more bad news than Sherry originally thought. Whatever the data contained, it was valuable enough to send a team to capture the thief. A better, more coordinated team. The woman felt a tinge of relief at knowing that the corporation was on top of things and weren't as posh and proper as they seemed. Whatever these people researched, they were professionals.

And now, the professionals needed the assistance of Ms. Sherry Birkin. She looked down to her partner, Mac, and searched for his answer. The little Machop didn't seem to care much, so he did not reply with anything other than a shrug. Perhaps it didn't matter to him as long as he would be able to test his strength. Sherry, on the other hand, looked back to the head researcher and nodded. Sure, she thought. Just don't stab me in the back for the G-Virus.

"Of course we'll help. I know how it feels to lose data..."

John didn't say a word. He simply nodded at Renamon as he received the money without looking at it and walked into the Pokemart...




Sinnoh Region - Oreburgh City - Pokemart - 7:41 PM

As John entered the store, the door let out a small chime, signaling that the store had another customer. The clerk looked up towards the entrance and saw John standing there with a giant pistol and grenades on his hip and an assault rifle back, causing the clerk to widen his eyes and quickly look away, hoping not to offend the new customer. John didn't really care whether or not his presence was known, he just needed supplies. John took this opportunity to look at how much money Renamon gave him. He was a little surprised by how much he was given, but didn't show any outward change in emotion. John was appreciative for the amount of money he was given and was going to spend it wisely. John grabbed a basket from next to the entrance and walked down the small isles, towering over the small shelves to each of his flanks. John turned to his right and noticed that he was in the Pokeball aisle. the shelves were lined with normal pokeballs, aqua-colored pokeballs with orange fins on the top, and black pokeballs with a yellow "U" on the top. As John leaned down to get a better look at the exotic looking pokeballs when he noticed tags below them with their names and potency.

"Hmmm.....", John quietly uttered as he tried to decide which type of pokeball to buy.

(The 'Great Balls' have a catching efficiency of 1.5 and cost 600 poke dollars, while the 'Ultra Balls' have a catching efficiency of 2.0 and cost 1,200 poke dollars. The Ultra Ball is better by .5, but costs twice as much. The Great Balls are not as effective, but they only cost half as much. If I were to buy the Great Balls, I might not be able to catch more powerful pokemon, but if I buy the Ultra Balls, I would need to worry about wasting them on weaker pokemon... Not unless I grab both kinds.), John thought.

Finally coming to a decision, John grabbed 6 of each pokeball and placed them in the basket. Once that was done, John walked over to the adventuring supplies section of the store, where he found escape rope. After thinking up of a good enough reason to get it, John decided to grab two of them, for emergencies.

He then quickly moved on to the next aisle, where they kept all their status curing items and potions. Once John was there, he saw various healing items, ones that would cure status effects. John quickly examined all of the items in the aisle, then concluded that while the Full Heals were more expensive, they were also more versatile. As for the potions, the hyper potions were much more effective, even though they were much more expensive. With that in mind, John grabbed 4 Full Heals, 2 Hyper Potions, and 1 Potion and finally walked over to the clerk at the back of the store, calculating the price of all the items he grabbed as he walked.

As John walked up to the counter, the clerk looked up at John with a look that could only be described as somewhat intimidated with a mix of curiosity.

"So, is that everything?", the man asked the green giant as John placed all of the items on the counter.

"Yes.", John said as he handed the money to the clerk.

"Hang on, I need to scan everything first.", the clerk said as he began to quickly scan each item with a device that made a price pop up on the cash register's screen.

John simply observed the scanning process as the clerk grabbed each item, swiped the scanner over it, placed the scanned item in a small bag, then moved on to the next one. Once the clerk was finished scanning all of the items and put them away, he then turned his attention to John.

"That will be 20,000 Poke Dollars, Sir.", the clerk said.

John nodded at the clerk and handed him the money. Once the money was in the clerk's hands, it was quickly deposited in the cash register and John was given a receipt.

"Thank you for shopping at the Oreburgh Pokemart.", the clerk said.

John simply nodded at the clerk, grabbed the bag full of items, and left the store...

As John left the store, he looked at his HUD's clock and noticed that he had taken 19 minutes to buy equipment from the store. Renamon was still waiting for him.

"Sorry it took so long. I gathered all of the items we might need in the future.", John calmly said to Renamon.

"Thank you so much!" The head researcher bowed again, the data within his tight grasp. "I... If you will, please follow me."

The interior of Devon Corporation Headquarter was adorned with their product posters and lavish decorations. Or at least it was for the front lobby. Second floor, the research department, was devoid of any fancy velvet carpet and baroque middle-age furnitures, instead replaced by plain metallic tiles and scientific equipments you wouldn't dare to touch without consent.

The head researcher stormed into his lab and retrieved another USB drive and a letter bound in white envelope.

"It is too late to venture out, for the wild Pokemon are more rampant in the night." The head researcher alerted. "But we need these to be delivered to a certain someone in Dewford Town. As soon as dawn breaks, can you head over to Dewford to deliver these?"

Sherry followed the researcher about as Mac toddled behind her. The little Machop showed an interest in all the hustle and bustle going about while Sherry admired it. Seeing everyone shuffle about with a spring in their step reminded her of the good days in DSO. Everyone was chipper back then, Hunnigan could spare time to talk, and Simmons wasn't being a complete arse. Sherry made sure not to bump into anyone or touch any of the fancy equipment, even though her curiosity urged her to.

She came to the conclusion that Devon Corp. was founded on the idea that technology could improve the lives of people by bringing them closer together with pokemon. The PokeMobile was one of their creations, and it was designed with the pokemon in mind as well as the trainer. She noticed that the head researcher had stepped into his lab and waited for him to return. When he did, Sherry noticed another USB drive in his hand as well as a sealed envelope.

So, she was on delivery detail now. It was off to Dewford Town, then. The young woman furrowed her brow and pocketed the items, making sure to place them in a less-used pouch of her fannypack. Wouldn't want them to get misplaced.

"Dewford Town?" she repeated. "If I'm not mistaken, that's to the south, right? It should be south of Petalburg, but across the sea on an island..." Sherry shook her head and looked up at the researcher with a confident smile. "Don't worry, I'll find a way there. I'll swim if I have to, but I'd rather not. Just who am I giving these items to?"

"Those have to go to a person who goes by codename Chiu." The head researcher responded. "Nobody knows why this person goes by the said name. We don't even know Chiu's genders."

"Rumor has it that Chiu is a bounty-ridden space alien from Mars." A young scientist hypothesized.

"Back to work, Smith." The head researcher barked at the young scientist, like how a drill sergeant would discipline his privates. He might look chubby on the outside, but he is definitely the charismatic leader of the team. "Sorry about that. I need to give you two more items to you. Please wait here."

The head researcher strode into a storage room within the science lab.

"Two more items?"

Sherry felt like she was being unnecessarily pampered, but then she figured this was part of her reward. She didn't feel that she deserved one after her less-than-stellar performance, but she wasn't going to decline. The more help she got, the better. As for Mac, Sherry figured that once the errand was taken care of they could head to the gym that was rumored to be on the island. It was said that it specialized in fighting types, so Mac would be right at home. However, his performance in the first gym battle combined with the fight against the Makuhita led Sherry to believe that there needed to be more training.

Fighting with one pokemon would get Sherry only so far. She needed more companions, more allies. She could get by with Mac, but that could be said the same with her gun and stunstick in Edonia. She got by, but only barely. Imagine getting by with that armement when fighting the Ustanak. Nope. Couldn't do that. Point taken, Sherry thought to herself.

"Mac, you up for a little bit of training before we turn in?" Sherry asked Mac.

The little Machop rubbed his head before nodding.

"Alright. Let's make a date then," she said before turning to wait.

(Once I'm turned loose, I think I'll head back to Route 116 to do a post or two of training before turning in at the Pokemon center)

The Chief returned with two devices and a small backpack that could be added to any larger bag through the hook in the handle. First device was larger, with detachable red cover that revealed two screens. Both screens were black, for they were turned off. The second device resembled a yellow flip phone.

"The larger device is called a PokeDex." The head researcher handed it to Sherry's left hand. "It is a hi-tech encyclopedia that records every Pokemon seen and caught. It is a gift from us, do take it."

"The smaller device is PokeNav. It is a multi-tool gadget with an ability to call people, look up maps of the region you are in, and more."

"Inside the small bag is a starter kit. It consist of 3 Potions, 5 PokeBalls, and an Antidote. I hope those items will serve you well in your journey."

"Its allright spartan, I got my share of stuff here too" Renamon said showing that her bag have an asortment of berrries, 10 pokeballs, 4 great balls and 2 ultra balls, on the other pocket were 3 hyper potions, 2 full heals, an escape rope, and a pair of both paralyze and burn heals.


"Its getting late, we can either go to the pokemon center to relax or keep looking around, your choice" the fox continued putting her backpack on its place

John tried to quickly listed off all the things they needed to, but found none. They had done all they needed to for today. Now it was time to eat, then sleep.

"Let's go to the Pokemon Center.", John calmly said as he began to walk towards the Pokemoon Center.

"You talk big, but let's see if you can back it up!" The punk with basketball jersey taunted as he threw his Pokemon out: a floating purple Pokemon exerting out dangerous-looking gases. "Intoxicate them, Koffing!"

"Don't get carried away." The woman with swimsuit top coolly said as she casually tossed her Pokemon out: a small cat Pokemon with black and yellow markings on its purple fur. "Go, Purrloin."

"Go, Minccino!" Professor Juniper sent her Pokemon out: a regal-looking chinchila with thick muffler-like neck.

Phantom quickly evaluated the situation as he looked at Bagon. He hadn't seen the floating purple Pokemon before, but he had seen the purple cat Pokemon.
That's when Phantom turned to Stryke. "Now if I just focus... if I work in sync with my Pokemon I shall overcome these thugs..." Said Phantom as he took a deep breath and thought a minute. He then turned to Juniper. "Tell me... what are the attacks of Stryke?" He whispered to the Professor. If it wasn't obvious by now he was literally a new trainer.
