Byakuren listened to the chief and her associate talk amongst themselves before she felt the conversation rear its head in her direction. Shikieiki was familiar with the SDM, but they haven't wrinkled her panties enough for her to mount a full-scale investigation against them. Maybe she thought they were small-time in comparison to other organized crime families, or maybe she was just waiting in the bushes like a tiger waiting to strike. As far as Byakuren was concerned, as long as she was able to proceed with her own investigations without pissing off the local police, Shikieiki could do as she pleased.
"A Miss Sally Leafwing was murdered yesterday night in the late hours. Shot in the front of the head and robbed of a few goods, she knew her killer. Komachi offered that she may have been in debt to the killers, and I'm inclined to agree." Byakuren looked up at the dreary sky over the city for a moment before turning back to the Chief. "I'm currently waiting on information about Miss Leafwing's acquaintances. I would like to know where she works, where she frequents, and who knew of her troubles."

Nutty Bolts - Hominis/Downtown District - Gensoka City | Morning
Meiling stared at the store owner. He was what you would expect out of a tool store owner. A mixture of muscular and slightly overweight, had a presence of roughness and harshness yet knew how to socialise and have a laugh. Not much else to him. After all, it's not as if every person in Gensoka City had an outstanding personality quirk to them. Of course, this was a city where beings of all races worked and living together but that did mean that those beings had to be downright insane, bloodthirsty, or greedy. This allowed Meiling to have a break from all that happened in her line of work. Sure, she liked the job and the money but what she had to be put through on a weekly basis sometimes annoyed her and made her more apathetic.[/hr]
"Joe, you got the place open?" Meiling asked. She didn't have much time for simple chit-chat or talking about old times, Meiling just wanted a drink before Sakuya would learn she was and drag her back into working.
"Ah, so that what it is. You want the old filler-up?" Joe replied.
"Fill me up and set me down!" Meiling promptly said. She had said that phrase numerous times before, hopefully Joe still got the message. Joe then smiled at Meiling's reply and shuffled over to the right-hand side of the counter. He placed his hand against a blank wall behind the counter and loudly knocked it. The wall gave way and opened up to a secret entrance in the store. It appeared that it still worked. Meiling could still get into The Slammer.
"Welcome to The Slammer. Enjoy your stay! Oh, just before you leave... Err... You think I could speak to your boss once you're done? I need to talk 'er a bit." Joe said just as Meiling was about to enter The Slammer. Meiling tilted her head at what Joe had to say. What would he, Joe Nut, want with Meiling's superiors? If he was talking about The Lady, he had no chance of speaking to her. But if Joe was talking about Sakuya, that would be a different story.
"Joe. I've told you before, you can't see The Lady. She only shows herself to those she deems worthy. Even I haven't seen her face. But... If you do want talk to somebody who I work for... Hmm... If you see a silver haired woman in a blue trenchcoat wander in, ask her 'You looking for a lady in green and red?' If she says yes then send her down to The Slammer. Once I'm done with her, I'll see what I can do." Meiling replied. If the chinese woman knew anything, Sakuya would find Meiling here and if that were the case, she could convince the silver haired woman to listen to what Joe had to say. Meiling then proceeded through the entranceway and down into The Slammer. The wall then promptly close behind her, looking as if it hadn't even been touched in the first place.

And like that, Patchouli left. The silver haired woman was on her own. Sakuya waited for about 15 more minutes to see if Patchouli was right. No-one entered the manor or the manor grounds. Was Patchouli right? Did Meiling simply up and leave for the city? But if she did then where did she even go? Sakuya didn't know Meiling as well as Patchouli or The Lady but she knew one major thing about the chinese woman. She loved to slack off when she didn't have any work to do. Of course, once Sakuya found her, Meiling would be forced to do another job or even take one of Sakuya's own jobs. But where would Meiling even go? Sakuya never knew where Meiling liked to go in her spare time. Much like Sakuya, Meiling would sometimes just vanish out of sight when she needed to; or rather when she wanted to. This meant that Meiling could be in any place in the city or even in Lunaberg! Meiling had to have something that gave away her location. Thinking back on the occasional things that Meiling would say to Sakuya when they weren't arguing, Sakuya remembered a few things that Meiling would sometimes talk about.
"So I met some guys down at The Slammer..." "Damn, that Donut... He's always so clumsy..." "My friend, Joe? He's a pretty swell guy!"
Joe? Donut? Slammer? Sakuya would usually discard these little facts whenever Meiling brought them up but it appeared that they might have been clues as to where Meiling went. Joe... Donut... The only person that Sakuya knew of by the name of Joe was a tool store owner and engineer known as Joe Nut. Sakuya never met Joe. Although he was considered a slight associate, any deals made with Joe were done by those who worked for Sakuya or... Meiling! Meiling would usually be the one making deals with him.
