As Ethan sat down at the table, he looked at the menu and considered Alex's offer. To be honest, Ethan felt somehow guilty for accepting her kindness, but at the same time, he didn't want to appear rude by rejecting it either. In the end, he decided to order something simple from the menu a simple sandwich, something that would be cheap, yet filling with a satisfying taste.

"I'll take a Nexxus Sandwich and some water.", Ethan said to Alex.

Amidst the, for now, mostly empty club was one person, one who was not a waiter or waitress, barkeeps and other staff, was a single person, sitting at one of the tables, a blank black mask blocking identification as said person sipped on a glass of red wine.

The person hadn't really planned to go to a club anytime soon, but when one of her good clients sent them a VIP ticket as a bonus payment? Well, might as well endulge a little. Never hurt, especially in the line of work the person did. Might as well sit back for a moment, and enjoy the show for a small time before going back out to the real world.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"Water?" Alex nodded. "I knew I didn't take you for a drinker. Your eyes say so."

The bouncer looked at his wristwatch: it was almost 6, and the line was growing restless. It's about time.

"Alright, everyone, single file, welcome to the Nexxus." The bouncer began allowing the regular guests in, and the line began moving with sighs of relief.

Drake continued to wait in line patiently, yet was still getting pretty agitated. Thankfully though he heard the Bouncer announced that the place was now open, and he was going to start letting people in, followed by sighs of relief from the crowd.

"Finally. Bout time this line starts moving. I was getting ready to just leave. Wish I had a VIP ticket though..." Commented Drake as the line slowly began moving... slowly, but surely he would get into the club.

A smooth, silky voice responded to Nitro's greeting.

"So this is the famed Nitro. I know you're a woman of business so I'll cut to the chase. You like money. Who doesn't? I need something important. I know you can work wonders, so I need a cloaking device. Something that will make my client nearly invisible. Even a refraction sheet works. Just don't expect to get paid as much. I need it to withstand hours of use, and try and make it chargeable. I am willing to pay a handsome amount if you can get these to me by tomorrow. You set the price, and we can work from there. However, this may be child's play for you. So I'll tell you what. If you can get this o me in any way, shape or form by nine o' clock, I will pay double the amount. Tell me if you agree to the terms and I will tell you where to send."

En route to San Francisco base via helicopter

most of the squad was ok except for the loss of the heavy weapons guys. The commander was calm as the other soldiers were having a nice talk about the last mission

"So what's the deal with that girl? for what I barely saw she doesn't use our gear or weaponry" the novice soldier asked to the group. Most of the others knew that the blonde was a silent woman who was a weapon specialist and extremely effective in action

Yet one of the group went for a cocky move "To me she isn't so great, sure she got a few kills and can move like a fox, and I bet ya she could move like that in other actions" he grinned as the group erupted in laughter. He continued "What's more, she lets some of those corrupts go away"

The commander then spoke up "That, lieutenant, is called giving mercy to the innocent, something most has lost during this firefights and I suggest you to give her the respect she deserves, we could have lost more of us if it wasn't because of her accepting this mission" his tone was powerful

"Oh come on she isn't that good, besides where is this girl?" the lieutenant asked

A tapping on his shoulder made the man gasp and looked at brown eyes that wore a neutral face "Whatever you need to tell me, do it on my face"

"Specialist Lynchwood, what an honor to grace us with your presence" the commander greeted the blonde who nodded in the same greet. The leutenant got on his feet but noticed that the woman was as the same height as him

"Lets see what you got blondie" In a quick move, he tried to pin her, but was reversed into a dead lock on his neck and pushed to the floor. Lynchwood got close to his ear, her golden locks graced his skin making goosebumps and shivered with her words "Remember soldier, we are fighting to save the innocent, not to shoot at whoever that moves"

Freeing the lieutenant, the specialist walked to her seat and started working on her rifle. The squad went silent with both nervousness and respect to the blonde while the commander grinned.

Have you ever crossed the line between sanity and madness? You would be amazed by what lies beyond the fog..

Nitro rolled her eyes. There were clients like this all the time: asking for something to be made from scratch in so little time. Coincidentally, they always call when she's on a break. How convenient.

"Listen pal, you picked a reaaaaal bad time to ask for a quote. You see, I'm in a party, and my favorite DJ's about to play, so why don't I call you back after that and then we can discuss, eh?"

"My eyes?", Ethan asked with a puzzled, yet slightly quizzical look on his face.

Ethan did not quite understand what Alex meant by seeing it in his eyes. What exactly did she mean? Could she actually tell something about someone by simply looking into their eyes? Ethan thought that such an idea was somewhat implausible yet interesting.

"Yes. I... usually have a hunch of what a person likes based on how their eyes are like." Alex said, her eyes meeting Ethan's. "Sometimes the person's eyes are so transparent I have a glimpse of everything that person wants in their lives. But yours..."

Alex tilted her head in slight confusion.

"Your eyes are so clouded."

As Alex stared into Ethan's eyes, Ethan began to feel slightly nervous, although he tried not to show it. Of course, if Alex payed attention, she would be able to tell that there was something more to Ethan. Ethan had a feeling that when Alex said "clouded", she meant that they looked dead. He was actually a little afraid that she would be able to figure out that something bad happened to him, and after that, the questions would flow forth, and Ethan would be forced to answer them. He couldn't tell her or Nitro about his past. He couldn't tell them how his entire family died and that he was the sole survivor of a brutal massacre. What would they think of him? They would possibly become uncomfortable with him, maybe try to distance themselves from him, or even worse, be able to connect him to the vigilante he was planning to be. After all, nobody really wanted to be around a "downer" or a killer. Ethan knew that if he tried to change the topic, then Alex would surely know that there was something up with him, and it would be certain that she would pick up on it. If he wanted to ease himself out of this situation, he would have to pay it cool, try and act as if he was curious about her observation, try and make himself as unassuming as he could. He didn't know if he could pull it off, but he would try.

"Hmm. That's strange. Is it something that happens often?, Ethan asked Alex in a calm tone, hiding his apprehension as best he could.
