The Fissure

Kris looked at the miner on the ground "What a good landing, but I suggest you to get up here before you get devoured" Kris said from the hole in the wall at 3 meters high from the floor, then she pointed to some little holes on the corners as there was some growling in them

The huntress pulled the arrow from the rope and tossed it to the floor "Take it before you get eaten!" she said as a big mole-like creature appeared from one of the holes

The Fissure

Jason's eyes widened in fear as he saw the mole-like creature emerge from one of the holes.

Jason grabbed the arrow as it flew through the air. As soon as he caught it, he threw it at the giant mole. He then augmented the arrow's speed and sent it at speeds much faster than even a crossbow could achieve. The arrow planted itself in the mole-like creature's hide, causing it to screech and allowing Jason enough time to use his speed magic to jump and enter the hole Kris was in.

Jason took a deep breath and spoke.

"What the hell was that?", Jason asked Kris in a tone of disbelief.

The fissure

Kris looked at the arrow hitting the mole and sighed "Perfect, they will cause tremors around the whole caves for days " she said cutting the rope before too much could be wasted

"That was a cave mole, they are the ones who made these caves, and your act of violence just made them mad already, we must move before they start searching for their agressor" she said walking through the tiny hole in a crouch position , her head almost touching the ceiling, after some meters the hole got bigger and then they got into a sort of big cavern with with enough light coming from yellow looking crystals making the ilusion of having real sunlight, some trees could be seen in the light patched areas and on the top of one of the bigger ones was a house made of wood and rock

But to get there, the bottom part of the cavern was filled with water and the group was on top of pillars way towering the water surface "That is the outpost, follow me and use thee ropes, no need for any accident" she said already shooting some arrows with ropes on the gaps to swing herself and Seki to the house.

When she reached the outpost, the huntress put the fire magician in a bed made of leaves and wool

Phenom was the last one into the tunnels, after the ranger and the miner. He followed closely, listening to every word Kris said. She knew these tunnels far better than he ever would. But he was more for the overworld than the underworld. He glanced around, feeling the accusing eyes of the creatures that inhabited these tunnels.

As time passed, they came to the hole in the ground that led to Kris's outpost. Phenom, not confident in his ability to survive a rat swarm, complied with Kris's suggestion to descend via the rope. As he reached the tunnel below and traversed the ropes to the outpost, he looked over at Kris.

"So uh... what convinced you to make an outpost down here?"

Fissure - 9:24 AM

Jason entered the room Phenom, Kris, and Seki were in.

"So uh... what convinced you to make an outpost down here?", Phenom asked Kris.

"Probably the man-eating R.O.U.S.es. They make for good guard dogs.", Jason jokingly said to Phenom.

He then went over to look out the window. Jason was amazed by the bright crystals lining the ceiling. Not only was it as bright as day in the cave, there was also vegetation too. He may have spent a lot of time underground, but he had never seen anything like the scene before him.

Hearing Phenom´s question made the huntress smile "In my travels around Aetherna I wandered into the many misteries of the virtual world, some temples with scrapped ideas left behind, skyscrappering lands hidden on mountain´s and oasis way hidden like this place, the first time I got here was because I was running from some bandits and got lost, I´ll be honest, I was in that darkness for a week, surviving from the flora and fauna that I could catch, and with time I adapted to the creatures of it."

Kris then looked at the cavern, such a beautiful sighting indeed "Soon I found that pit of flesh eating moles and fell accidentally thanks to a rock that cracked and grasped the hole, then I found this place and thought that no one could reach this place without the proper skills and tools, but let me tell you that here we are only guests of the creatures of this place, no territory claiming" she explained

"If we need food, there are some vegetables on that patch of soil or we can fish in on the lake"

Then Kris prepared to treat Seki "Ok, I´ll need you two to gather some herbs for me, you will notice them easily, they are red glowing petals that are scattered on the lake´s shore after that, I´ll need your speed magic to crush the petals into dust of them, then I´ll take care of what is next" she said taking of her arm braces and gloves

Jason turned his attention away from the scenery outside the window and turned to Kristia.

"Okay. I'll be back.", Jason said as he left the house.

Once he exited the building, Jason used his speed magic to dash to the lake's shore. Once he got there, Jason began to look for the flower petals that Kris requested. After a minute or two, Jason finally found a couple of flowers and collected the red glowing petals.

(Ok. That should do...), Jason thought to himself as he used his speed magic to quickly return to the house.

"I'm back!", Jason called out as he entered the house.

Jason then put the red glowing flower petals on the table and began to search for a mortar and pestle.

Cavern outpost
The huntress thanked Jason as she took the perals and crushed them with the mortar and pestle, then she mixed the red dust with some purified water she had stored into a small vial.

Kris wass already working on the flame magician using her ice magic to coat a knife with ice, she lifted Seki´s shirt and put the knife close to the girl´s chest"Ok Seki, I know this will hurt, but I will have to do it" she said starting to make a small slice on the skin with extreme care and precision. With time , the cut revealed the vivid flesh of the girl.

The huntress didn´t hesitate and started using some herbs´ juice to ease the pain in the girl´s skin as she started making a small opening close to the heart. "Allright, this will be the critical part, just relax" she mumbled to the girl as she took the red liquid. In a moment Kris sliced open the heart and poured the red potion into the fire magician´s heart and quickly sealed the wound with her ice coating, making a small scar on it.

Kris was swating with tension and strain as she was made the same process with Seki´s lungs "And it is done.. phew no scars at all in the end, she will only need some rest for now, the herb has burn healing properties and since it is now in her blood and air system, it will do the job and heal her internal organs" she explained exhausted while seating on a chair

Jason saw the whole procedure, but was confused.

"Wait. But I thought that I healed everything.", Jason said to Kris in a confused tone.

He then began to come up with a theory. His theory was that perhaps he was only able to heal a certain amount of damage in a small amount of time.

"It looks like I'll need to work on that...", Jason mumbled to himself as he looked at his hand.

(The question is, how am I going to train? I don't really like the idea of cutting myself and healing the wound over and over again...)

Kris heard the miner boy´s sentences and straightened herself on the chair "Magic does do it´s job, but it is imperfect, just take for example Seki´s fire magic and what it did for her body. There may be great magic abilities, but nature has beaten everything and it is the root for everything too, the usage of magic must have come from something" she said and went on

"The stories of fairies, goddesses and gods, they all have magic, but what about their roots? Diane the godess of the hunt used the moon´s power to revitalize her body and to purify the lands. Thor had the power of thunder to vaporize his enemies with storms. All the magic comes from nature´s elements and we are yet way behind to fully understand it" she said taking of her upper armor and staying only in her shirt

22But what about the non magical users? they had to rely on something to balance with the mages and witches, that´s when the human instinct arise, we gathered medicine from different herbs and could create light with fire and all the way to modern technology, but all of this comes from the same roots as magic. Nature.
