It's pretty much the standard for Terrain Generator. If you are familiar with programs that use node systems then it shouldn't be too hard.
As for using Blender, at this point if I were to use it I would end up with a really bad product that didn't look realistic at all.Born in the light.

Oh, long since I posted here.
So, for those that don't know, Terrain is done and I'm now working on all the plants. I had some spare time today so I worked a bit on The Forest of Magic. Here are some pics to give a better idea of what it would look like. Here I'm mostly focusing on making the forest dense, while at the same time feel alive. It's not overly dark, even tough it might be a bit hard to navigate. Most of the pics showcase the more open spaces, because if I had focused on the closed ones, it would be really boring pictures.

EDIT: Did the Youkai Forest too. As you can see, I've tried to make them two really different forests. This forest is much less dense than The Forest of Magic, but it's also MUCH darker.
