    BORDERLANDS - CHRONICLES OF OLYMPUS

    Backstory:

It has been almost 4 years since the Reawakening of the Warrior. Pandora was mostly at peace, with the ample amount of Eridium Hyperion has exploited from the land distributed out to the good-minded people of the planet. There were still bandits raiding smaller villages in search of their fair share of Eridium, but the remnants of the Crimson Raider kept most of the raids under control...

But the raids increased in quantity and in force as time went on and Eridium became more and more scarce. The severity of the situation grew to the point where cities rose up to fight one another in desperate hopes of controlling the Eridium supplies. Newly appointed leader of Crimson Raider, Lilith, decided that Pandora was a dead planet now that Eridium supply has dried up, and prepared a space shuttle to find a new planet and colonize on it... preferably one with a lot of fresh Eridium veins.

Nearly everyone of importance boarded the shuttle "Scarlet Moon". Lilith, Mordecai and Brick were the first to board the shuttle, then Moxxi, Marcus, Dr. Zed, Patricia Tannis, Scooter, Sir Hammerlock, and even Crazy Earl. The only thing that stayed on Pandora were a few citizens and Claptrap, who decided that he would rather prefer the large stacks of pizza boxes than to go on any more adventure. Those that were fed up with the peace hopped on board. Within a few days, the Scarlet Moon left Pandora.

The journey to find a new planet took many months. Every planet the Scarlet Moon visited either was too hostile for human habitation or had too little Eridium of interest. The crew began losing hope of being able to find a good enough planet to settle on until the ship's far-range Eridium sensor went malfunctioning in result of chart overlord. After moving further closer to the source of the Eridium reading, the crew came upon a planet that was sustaining local wildlife and was brimming with Eridium... or something that replaces Eridium in this planet. It was their new home, an uncharted land fit for their own civilization.

Apparently, they were wrong. This new planet was already colonized by humans, more particularly their old enemies. Long ago, Lilith, Mordecai, Brick, and the late Roland came into conflict with the Atlas corporation and their hired mercenary force, Crimson Lance. The Crimson Lance was defeated, and Atlas retreated from Pandora... to think that they would meet the Atlas here in this new planet, apparently named the Olympus. What's more, Atlas is looking for a Vault hidden in this planet as well. Lilith, Mordecai, and Brick did not want this new planet to fall into ruin like Pandora did, and immediately began looking for a new Vault Hunter to stop whatever Olympus plans on doing.

    Scarlet Moon

"Day 116. Still no hopes of searching the promised land..." A red haired girl was sitting on her bunk bed, drafting some sort of captain's log... or was trying to anyway. She clearly looked distraught, with her red hair not appearing to be brushed for at least several days and dark circles forming under her eyes. She mumbled to herself incoherently, suddenly looked at the paper where she was writing the log with disgust, and shot up. "Just how long is it going to take to find a goddamn planet with a Vault!"

"Oop, Lilith is pissed." A huge man wearing a zipped-up black leather vest whispered to a skinnier man to the left, who chuckled softly and began sneaking out of the red-haired girl's room, only to be spotted by the gal.

"Where do you two think you're going, Brick? Mordecai?" Lilith asked, a bit angry but still in a mood to make playful joke out of herself.

"I- I- I- I- I was going to run down to the cafeteria to get some food!" The huge man, Brick, stuttered.

"Come on, amiga, I know you're growing impatient, we all are. But compared to how long we had to wait for Handsome Jack to die, this is nothing. Hang in there." The skinny man, Mordecai, attempted to cheer Lilith up as he wobbled over closer to her, one of his hand holding a bottle half-full of liquor.

"Ugh, go away, Mordecai. You smell like you're being fermented." Lilith sighed, ignoring Mordecai's comment, and sat down on a chair. "We're slowly growing insane in here-"

"Captain Lilith! Urgent news! We have a planet of adequate size in sight! The Eridium meter is off the charts!" A Crimson Raider soldier who was in the control room monitoring the Planetary Eridium Presence Scanner, or PEPS, rushed into Lilith's room with a smile. Shocked and not believing what she just heard, Lilith pushed Brick and Mordecai away and followed the soldier to the control room, while Brick and Mordecai, also confused and shocked about the news, quickly chased the others to the control room.

As many of the ship travelers, Diane was minding her own business.. by crushing the used cans of food with her bare hands "And here I thought there would be some sort of organization, oh well.. I get to train more" she said to herself while putting the crushed cans on their respective place with the trash.

She knew people were losing their minds while being inside a metal cage in space, but the blonde was feeling ok, that was because she was used to her solo jobs and she needed to be emotionally stable when she had events similar to this one ("Even our captain is having a hard time, I may have an idea to relax that stress") she smiled looking at the pieces if rubbish that were formerly crates and barrels that were occupying space ("It might work")

The viking was dealing with the last of her job when the sound of people running gathered her attention "Unless someone finally lost it or there is something big going on" she spoke heading to where the person or persons were moving to.

Andrew who was just roaming the halls of the Scarlet Moon was caught off guard as he had seen Mordecai, Brick, and Lilith running by... Having nearly be squished by Brick as he ran passed Andrew, the annoyed Andrew just watched on beneath that mask and hood of his.

"Goddammit what's going on this time? Better be something damn important..." Andrew replied as he shook his head, quickly going into a light jog after the three to the control room, nearly bumping into Diana on the way there. However he didn't say anything to anyone as he followed Brick, Mordecai, and Lilith.

"Show me those Scanner records." Lilith demanded as she walked into the control room in a hurry. Every staff working stood up to salute Lilith.

"See right here." The personnel who was calibrating the Planetary Eridium Presence Scanner, or PEPS, pointed at one of the fancy looking screens. The scanner displayed looked like a car fuel gauge, with a 180-degree scale and a needle pointing off the scale, almost beyond the edge of the screen. The entire scale was filled with purple bars.

"My word..." Brick who just entered the mission control gasped in disbelief as he drew closer to stare at the scanner reading.

"How much more Eridium are there on this planet than there were on Pandora?" Lilith asked the same personnel.

"I would say about 6 to 7 times more, if my calculations are correct." The staff answered, stuttering a little bit.

"Handsome Jack abused most of the Eridium for 3 years, and we used what was left for 4. Do you think we can sustain a long-term colony with this amount?" Lilith asked the staff again.

"I would say it would last for us, the next generation, and for the next 5 generations." The staff calculated. Lilith smiled.

"Good. Let's land, then. Let's see what this planet has in store for us." Lilith ordered, and for the first time in good 4 months, the mission control became busy.

Stopping before getting too close to the control room, Diana decided to hear what was happening, thanks to her sharp hearing, she managed to understand the situation ("A new planet, finally, but even better since it can sustain quite a long time. Way more than Pandora") she smiled leaning on the wall and sighing with relief ("I wonder what we will find on this new arena")

Andrew had continued walking down the hallway, but stopped just short of the doorway as Lilith, Mordecai, and Brick had entered the Control Room. Quickly and instinctively he decided to also begin eavesdropping on the conversation coming from the people inside the room.

He listened to what he heard, and for one... he was relieved. "Sounds like I'm not going to be stuck on this ship for any longer." Andrew said with a cold chuckle as he almost immediately turned to begin walking away after over-hearing the news. Practically ignoring everyone else in the hall.

Deciding to head back to work, Dane thought about the possibilities of the soon-to-be her new home ("If there is only wildlife, scouting will be the most needed work, but if there is a civilization, escorts or body-guarding would be good too") her thoughts were interrupted as a man chuckled coldly and muttered about finally being free of the ship.

("Oh great.. wouldn´t be surprised if others get too "excited" for the news, better watch out") the blonde made a mental note to warn the Vault Hunters about their discovery, rumors spread like wildfire and something of this magnitude could be problematic if some of the crew members were too stressed to be in a space can.

Making a turn towards the control room, Diane knocked on the door.

"How large is it?" Lilith asked.

"The planet seems to be about the same size as Pandora, if not a little larger."

"How's the climate?" Mordecai added, leaning on a wall near the doorway.

"Seems like the whole planet is more fertile than Pandora. We'll need a closer look to be sure, but just from this distance, we can hypothesize that the weather is more humid and temperate."

"Good, Giuseppe would definitely like to hear that." Brick commented from another corner.

"Are there human settlements?" Lilith asked.

"We'll have to land to find out."

"I don't see why we should wait. We were being starved of our materials as is anyway. Let's get down there-" After analyzing the situation, Lilith commanded the staff inside, but was interrupted by the knock on the door.

"I'll get that." Mordecai said and opened the door to the mission control to find a woman, as tall and large as Brick, with a war paint streaked over her face. "Oh... can I help you?"

Diane mentally chuckled at the sniper´s reaction of seeing her, since she like the female version of Brick, except for the body mass, she was similar in battle ("I will think of that later, now got to focus on the main issue")

"Actually it is a suggestion sir, you guys weren´t so subtle when you came here and some of the crew thought something important happened" the blonde commented at first and then looked back at the hallway where the black haired man was "Hearing about a new planet is a big bomb and the people are getting restless, so it would be better to keep any rumors down so the news about the planet doesn´t create any problem with the less stable persons around the ship and cause problems"

"I appreciate your concerns." Lilith commented on Diane's suggestions. "But, as a captain of the ship, I personally think it is necessary to relieve some distress in the passengers. Besides, it's no rumor. We ARE going to land here to scout out the area and see if this planet is good enough for permanent settlement."

"Smart mouth." Brick said under his breath so that only he and Mordecai could hear. Mordecai chuckled.

"You're sounding a lot like Roland, Lilith." Mordecai observed.

"Is that a bad thing, now?" Lilith jokingly teased Mordecai, who looked away with a smile.

"No... no, its much preferred this way." Mordecai answered honestly. "So... shall we prepare for landing?"

Lilith looked out into the vast space, silent for a second. A few months ago, she was a vigilante trying to fight off an evil megalomaniac looking to bring a planet to its demise. Back then she didn't know, but living in this cramp, dull ship taught Lilith how burdensome the leader's responsibility is. She didn't want to become like Handsome Jack, but she didn't want to stay passive.

But she wasn't Handsome Jack. And she will bring this team into a better future.

"All crew prepare for landing." Lilith commanded, and the crewmen of the ship began scurrying around the control room. "We descend."

"Well then, time to take my things" Diane waved her hand as she left to her room. The Ax user wasn´t so excited by the look of her walking and mood, she was actually neutral on the situation since there were both good and bad things about the new planet, sure there were new things to discover, but there were also many dangers that could have unknown advantages and so on.

The viking sighed ("This will be a heck of an adventure") she couldn´t help but smile at that.

"We have arrived at the drop site." The navigator noted as the ship safely landed on a large flat area surrounded by a forest of some sort. The crowd cheered at the safe landing, including but not limited to every notable NPC of Sanctuary.

Lilith smiled and hugged a flustered Mordecai, who stood next to Brick who had a large smug on his face. Left of Lilith stood Moxxi, her attire provocative as ever, with Marcus smirked, ready to sell firearms that the passengers could use against any hostile local wildlife animals. Dr. Zed was stoically staring at the screen of the landing, while Scooter had tears on his face.

"Well, what are we waiting for?!" Lilith happily declared. "Let's open the hatch!"

The passengers grouped up around the exit as it was slowly but surely opening, letting the bright sunlight pierce through the relative darkness of the ship. They winced as the light grew more and more intense until the hatch was fully opened. When their eyes adjusted to the brightness, they saw something amazing.

Surrounding the ship were plains with grass greener than any grass in Pandora. But what surrounded the plains were greener than anything the Pandorian natives have ever seen: a rain forest of some sorts with less wet and more mystical. The rain forest stretched out far into the South, but became more sparse to the North which eventually ended into a more arid landscape.

"This is beautiful." Lilith exclaimed in awe, and turned to the similarly awestruck Pandorians with a happy expression. "We're here, everyone!"

                          They all cheered.

Taking a deep breath of fresh air did wonders to Diane´s lungs "Boy this feels so good" she spoke not caring if people heard her, this was a new planet, a new environment, a new home "Might as well see what the nature brings as a welcoming party" she started walking around the area.

In her mind, the blonde was already making a mental map of the area ("We got more plant life, that is obvious, the fauna must be observing us from a safe distance, they wouldn´t be so stupid to just attack a whole community, even less if said community was prepared to shoot at the slightest feeling of threat") she thought while making some recon work

As soon as you would know it the Scarlet Moon had landed on the planet much like Captain Lilith commanded.

However while everyone else was focused cheering on about landing on the planet, and celebrating. Andrew was alone in his living quarters packing up the essentials. He had his Data Storage device, filled with enough money to hopefully buy an energy shield from Dr. Zed, and probably some ammo or a weapon from Marcus. The old Rifle of his family was also properly put into storage for safe keeping until he needs it. Though the one item he did not put into Data Storage was his Hunting Drone. Instead of putting it in data storage, he rather had kept it in it's inactive state, a folded up box shaped form. With two clips on the drone, Andrew put his precious... tool on his back much like a backpack. Thanks to the clips it remained nice and snug on his coat.

"Before I even go anywhere, it looks like I'm going to need to go visit Scooter along with Zed and Marcus... going to need a good weapon aside from my old Family Rifle... going to need a new shield... also going to need to make sure everything with my Drone is in perfect condition. I have a feeling I'm going to get stuck with the boring scouting mission..." Andrew spoke to no one in particular as he left his living quarters, now in search of Scooter, and then Marcus and Zed hopefully...
