Black Widow Firing Range | 8:00pm

Callie smiled, having finished her shift an hour ago, already at the firing range with an array of weapons beside her. She was a regular here, and the owners stored some of her personal guns with them in the shop. Picking up one of the carbines, her favorite G36C, she clicked off the safety lock and held the gun up. Staring down the sight, she located her target before firing off a short spray of bullets, grinning. Clicking the safety lock back, she moved the ear protection back, placing the carbine down and giving a thumbs up to the customer next to her. “Alrighty, I think that’s enough shooting for tonight. See you guys tomorrow.”

Placing the headgear down and paying on her way out, Callie grabbed her bag and checked her phone. “No calls from Amaya? That’s pretty strange. Guess she must have remembered that I was heading here tonight. Now then… I need to call a cab.”

Amaya sat in the bath, soaking there with rose scented candles lit around the tub. “I never get to relax this much.” She smiled, closing her eyes and sinking lower into the warm water. After her busy day at the bakery, she needed all the rest she could get. With Callie out of the house at the moment, she had the bathroom all to herself.

      Mirabelle's Home

No matter how she shifted on the bed, the pinkette couldn't obtain any chance of sleeping, there was this itch on the back of her mind that needed to be dealt with. And such itch was of her body needing adrenaline.

With a sigh, Mirabelle got up and stretched her limbs (Really? I'm so used to the routine that my subconscious wants me to move? Damn it) she thought while going to the house's main hallway, passing the staicase to the second floor was a door that showed another set of stairs going down. The pinkette turned on the lights of the basement room and there was some training equipment, a boxing bag on one side and the wall across it had big mirrors that covered the whole surface of it.

Starting with some exercise stretches, Mirabelle got ready for a nocturnal session.

        Gym | Valhalla High School

It had been an hour since Nicholas had started his exercise and after running three miles on the school's running track, Nicholas was thoroughly tired enough to call it a night and head home. After heading back inside and packing his bag, Nicholas headed out the door and back home.

Although Nicholas had already run before, he decided to get home a little faster and jog there. It took about 15 minutes to reach the outskirts of the district, and when he finally stopped, he felt almost as tired as he did immediately after exercising. It didn't matter though. He felt satisfied with his efforts today and felt that he had somehow rightfully earned the right to rest in a warm home on his soft bed. A small smile spread across his face as he thought about resting on a comfy couch after a long day, enjoying whatever he felt like making for dinner at the time, most likely just a cup of noodles to wind down... for now.

Nick was close to his home. It was just around the corner. Too bad when he turns around the corner, he will come face to face against a putrid-looking amalgamation of plants and bipedal animal. While the vegetation on the top looked healthy and green, the "body" of the monster was not so prosperous as it was rotting and sagging at the bottom. The monster's face was three egg-shape in various state: hopelessly cracked open and releasing noxious fume, in a slight despair, or polished and flawless. But there was no denying that the monster looked absolutely disgusting.

          Karuna's Residence | Time: 8:01 PM

"No problem!" Karuna yawned. She was growing a bit tired and, judging by her fidgeting with her school uniform shirt again, she was ready to take a shower. "Anyway, I'm gonna go take a bath and relax. You be careful going back home, alright-"

But before Karuna could say goodbye to Drake, an obviously drunk Chinese boy about a few years older than Karuna and Drake staggered inside, catching Karuna's attention. This man was wearing what could be the stereotypical thug outfit: with dirty, ripped jeans, red cotton shirt with a metal band logo, and a leather vest; with a headband tied across his head.

"Fabian!" Karuna leaped forward to hug the Chinese man: he obviously was a good friend of Karuna's by the way she greeted him. "Ugh, you reek of alcohol!"

"Yeah, yeah, I ain't drunk just yet." Fabian chuckled uneasily as he accepted Karuna's embrace. He was about to say something but, noticing the presence of a guest, he held his words back. "I need to talk to you about something. Can you tell our guest to leave us alone for a bit?"

"No need. He was about to leave anyway." Karuna said as she pulled herself away from Fabian and addressed Drake. "So yeah! I'll see you tomorrow, Drake! Be careful on your way back home, okay?"

          Valhalla Streets

Bora and Father Bernard stormed through the streets, heading towards the Omen activity, oblivious to Koishi chasing after them in curiosity. It was a marvel how fast Bora can run, especially in her modest attire of black lingerie and red heels, as she zipped around alleyways with a giant man following her.

"We're getting close. I can feel the Omen's aura getting stronger and stronger." Bora announced to Father Bernard as the two closed in on the destination. "I hope the Omen hasn't found anyone yet! I really don't want to risk another innocent person..."

Koishi wiped sweat from her brow. "Geez, they can move fast. Hardly can keep up." Koishi thought to herself, trying to keep her breathing steady.

She kept moving, legs pushing on and on, catching more words about an 'omen' and hoping it hasn't found anyone. So it was some kind of being, and it WAS dangerous. What was she walking into? Her self-preservation was a long way away from the front of her head, and was quickly and brutally replaced by excitement and curiousity as she continued running along.

Upon turning the street corner to get to the road his house was on, Nicholas saw the monster and clenched his teeth as he tensed up. Nicholas did not spend much time processing what was standing right in front of him, but what did take the most amount of time was him trying to process whether what he was seeing was real or not. It didn't matter whether it was real or not at the moment. His heart was already racing and he did not want to find out whether he was hallucinating or not. Reacting as quickly as he could, Nicholas had already spun around and tried to sprint in the opposite direction, but he could feel that his legs were not pushing against the ground as hard as they should have. He was already tired from the run before and the jog here, meaning that he was already at a disadvantage.

Seeing no other option, Nicholas ducked around the corner of the wall and immediately sprinted towards the nearest opening in the wall next to the sidewalk. At the very least, he hoped to cut through his neighbor's yard and over his fence.

The monster was fast... really fast compared to Nick. Noticing Nick's presence almost immediately, the plant-like being bellowed a terrible roar and began chasing after Nick, catching up to his prey within seconds. Its' heavy body mass slammed into Nick as the monster sat on him before he could make his nifty getaway. Nick could smell a certain doom until he notices two human figure running towards him...

"I see him!" Bora pointed at the plant-like Omen sitting on top of a would-be prey. Wasting no time, she activated her Lens which made her eyes glow in royal purple lights as she scanned the Omen of any special features.

"Average threat level: 18. Noxious fumes from its' egg-like heads, but nothing else special other than that." Bora reported to Father Bernard, who materialized a gigantic, metal cross out of nowhere and grabbed its' handle. "All yours, Father Bernard."

Her thoughts were dirupted by seeing the man with Bora make a huge cross made out of metal from absolutely nothing. A strange mixture of confusion and happiness crept onto her face at the awesome and quite out of place sight.

"Cooooool." Koishi couldn't stop herself from saying it as she watched from behind, quickly holding her mouth closed afterward after realization.

As Drake was holding his bottle of cola in his hand and about to drink something caught him off guard. It was the sound of the door opening and some guy dressed in what you'd expect a punk sort of guy to wear came in. By the smell coming off him and his demeanor he had clearly been drinking alcohol. Drake was about to speak up about it, but upon hearing the conversation between the two Drake began thinking.

"Hmm... so this must be another friend of Karuna's... certainly does not seem like a pleasant man to be with though..." Drake thought as he then heard the man asking Karuna to 'speak privately'. At first Drake was not willing to just go and leave Karuna with a punk, but with Karuna's assurance Drake sighed, smiled, and gave a quick bow and a tip of his hat to Karuna and the guy. Even though the better half of him really doesn't want to leave as indicated by how he replied.

"Oh... Yes... I was about to leave now. I'm sorry for taking too long." Drake replied as he then left with a quick tip of his hat.

After Drake left Karuna's residence he began to walk along the sidewalk of the city at night with a rather solemn if not saddened look on his face. He really did not want to leave Karuna tonight, especially with what he told her about her family. Unfortunately he cannot really do anything, for he had just recently met the girl. As such it would be awkward for him to insist to stay the night at her place... With that he just continued walking along the sidewalk of the city.

Darkness had fallen as Drake's only sources of lights were from buildings, and the street lamps up ahead. Things were just... relatively normal as he proceeded to make his way home. However as he walked he did not seem to feel all too happy or safe inside. For one he worries about what that man might possibly attempt to do to Karuna, and just a rather bad feeling in his gut... as if something was not right. Drake was too busy focusing on the events of today.

Today was probably the first time Drake had actually had fun with anyone in a while, let alone the first time he's had anyone he could actually call a friend. However what was stuck on his mind was... Karuna. Her energetic, friendly, happy personality combined with her rather gorgeous appearance just wouldn't leave Drake's head. Even though today had to end with a rather saddening, if not worrisome note for Drake, he still proceeded through the city. Hell thinking about his day today sorta made him forget all about the potential danger of running into a serial killer or thug on the streets. For right now all that was on his mind was his exciting day with his new friends. Especially Karuna... of whom he just can't seem to get out of his head.

                      Mirabelle´s home

The sound of something being punched hard could be heard from the basement room, it was strong enough to overcome the music that the pink haired girl put to relax her mind. It was mostly the routine of Mirabelle when she still had energy in her system, going to the gymnasium, spend some hours training and releasing pent up stress, taking a shower and falling on her bed to sleep. The pinkette´s jabs at the punching bag sent said object swinging from time to time, to the point of sometimes making the girl move to evade the training equipment. ("Dang, I got more energy than I thought, this was a great day")

Mira´s first day was at first odd with the cloaked woman who sold her a charm, it could have been just a piece of rubbish, but the pinkette liked it enough to keep it, then came Misaka, the shy girl she met in the shower room, she had a protective shell around herself, but Mira could see small cracks when they talked and enjoyed their time with lunch, also the super traditional girl Yuki, a bit too much for her liking, but still respectful of others. And finally the afternoon with Karuna and the new kid Drake who joined them. In general, it was a good day for Mirabelle.

Nick was too tired to lift the creature off of himself, and it was rather clear it was faster than it looked. The creature smelled strongly of sulfur and decaying plant matter, but the smell was the least of his concerns and was processed as a mere afterthought when he was faced with the very real possibility he could die. It was quite surprising how the creature did not break any of Nicholas's bones by sitting on top of him, as Nicholas had guessed the creature to be close to 400 pounds. Although Nicholas was scared about the situation, he was also rather calm about dying, almost as if he had become numb to such a feeling or topic. How Nicholas saw it, he was bound to die one day, so there was no point in panicking, although he would be damned if it was going to be by the hands of a rotten "egg/plant" monster. Although he felt that such a gesture may have been useless, Nicholas summoned up all the remaining strength he had, reached for the keys in his pocket, and began to scratch and claw at the underside of the monster, not wanting to die without grasping for some chance at survival.

The monster's broken eggshell dripped noxious, acidic poison on the ground. Considering that the toxin corroded and dissolved asphalt on the ground, it was evident what it could do to Nick's flesh. He would die a horrible, painful death of dissolution...

If he wasn't going to be saved by a giant priest wielding a huge weapon.

"ORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Father Bernard emitted a battlecry, so loud that it caught the attention of the monster. Sadly for it, the priest's metal cross was inches away from it. With a full swing, Father Bernard struck the monster with such strength it was sent flying for a second or two before landing on the ground with a big thud. However, Father Bernard was not done dispensing justice as he leaped and began pummeling the monster, which became visible as soon as Father Bernard's cross made contact with it.

As Father Bernard was dispersing his avenging wrath upon the monster, his partner: a young woman clad in nothing but underwear came to Nick's aid, offering him a hand so he can stand up. "You alright?" The woman asked, her purple eyes burning like two royal light in the relative darkness of the sky. "Glad we got in time; any second later and you would've at least had third-degree burns all across your skin."

Koishi brushed sweat off her face from both the running, and the relief from not being seen. Bora was definitely hiding something big, if the large metal cross fella was anything to go by. Gears were whirring in her brain as the creature became visible from the hit of a cross. That sent them reeling back in the previous direction. Crosses, okay, that's cool, she could take that pretty easy, but a quite large plant... thing? That was... awesome, at least in her head. She crept forward a bit, trying to get a better view as she adjusted her hat a little by instinct.

She crept even closer, hiding behind a trash bin which smelled vaguely of rotten peanuts. She peeked out, her green orbs dotting up and down left and right, taking in the scene in full. So there were monsters, and monter hunters? Not only that, but Bora seemed to be one of them... that'd be a cool job, look good on a resume. Or really strange. She got lost in her thoughts, thinking about all her myraid of options at the moment, not noticing her hat stuck out from the sides of the bin.

Finally feeling the tireness both in her body and mind, Mirabelle stopped her exercise and panted while holding the punching bag. She could feel her hands throbbing with the soreness in the knuckles, but the faint smile that the pinkette had was enough to prove she was feeling great. "It was a good work, but now.." she lifted her arm to smell her sweat and immediately looked away irked by the smell "Yup, a bath is needed". Turning off the music and the lights, the girl walked upstairs to her room and took some clothing from the closet, the bathroom was her next stop as she closed the door and the muffled sound of the shower could barely be heard.

After some minutes, the pinkette walked mostly in automatic to her bed in a tank top and comfortable shorts, she got comfortable on the side of the bed, tucked herself in, and in seconds she fell asleep, all without noticing if the black haired girl either there too or that she was asleep or not.

Looking over her shoulder, she saw her twin walk in, locking the door behind her. "Hey Callie, there must not have been many cabs out, huh?" Noting her sister's tired nod as she plopped down next to her. "Rough night?"

"Sort of rough... I had to walk a few blocks before getting to to a busy street." Callie sighed, draping her arms over the side of the couch's armrest. "I'm just glad that I got to go to the range tonight. Firing off a few guns always calms me down, especially since they're my own guns." Her hand ran through her hair absentmindedly, her eyes closed. "Anything interesting go on at work for you?"

Amaya shook her head, turning back to the TV and bringing her knees to her chest as she flipped to a horror movie. "Not really. There was this nice girl who loved snicker doodles, so I guess that was fun. She really loved them, I could see it in her eyes." Smiling and thinking back to earlier, she nodded. "She was so sweet, you know. Kinda like when we were younger."
