    [OOC] Exceed the Dawn

Woo! Lets see if Alayosho can make an RP!

Exceed the Dawn is based on a Steampunkish world where there's magic and all that fun stuff! It is your typical Medevil Fantasy RP only with a bit of Technology. With all the magic around, there's no real use for Guns and cannons. Instead, there are machines that can use a person's energy to preform greater abouts of work than the person would have been able to do on their own. Masically--Engines that fuel off of magical power!

Nifty, Right? But where do you com in?

    Lets make some history!!

In the Year 1397, the first Gandivan Ship took to the skies. Named the Damsel Fly, it was a horror compared to what graces the sky now days. In its time, however, it was a symbol of hope and the realization of a grand dream. The Gandivan Empire was struggling to make ends meet. Their populace was on the verge of rioting due to lack of resources, and water-based trade with the Imperial Empire across the ocean was too slow to provide them enough. With the Damsel Fly's first flight to the Imperial Empire, a new economic dream was born. Both Nations flourished with the increased trade; the Imperial Conclave benefiting from the luxuries of the Gandivan Empire, while the Gandivans received enough food and raw materials to sustain their populace.
-For fifty years, bigger and better trade ships were made by the Gandivans until a Imperial ship docked in Gandiva. Perhaps their intentions were pure, wishing only to accelerate trade with their own ships. But the Gandivans saw the production of Imperial ships as a problem, and trade disputes arose from their advent. Why pay for a Gandivan ship when an Imperial would do it for less? Pirating and espionage became rampant until Gandiva made an official Delcaration of War against the Imperial Conclave. The war lasted for less than a year, with the masterful Gandivan ships crushing the Imperial ships effortlessly. It was like a bear slowly coming upon a nest of bees for its honey. The Imperial ships swarmed angrily against the Gandivan cruisers, driving only a few into the ocean until the looming shadow of defeat was at the Imperial doorstep. The ground war was shorter, but far more violent. Eventually, the Imperial Conclave ceded to the Gandivan Empire, becoming a vassal nation.
-The next 150 years would be tense, but peaceful. Renegade Imperials became pirates, while Gandivan occupation of the Imperial cities led to inter-mingling of the races. Instead of more Gandivan and Imperial babies, the union between the two gave way to the Devas. Religious overseers called it a blessing--a reward for joining two races that were meant to be at peace. The two nations slowly came together until the first Tyrant ships came to the Imperial Boarder. Only high ranking military officials knew of the Lians of the Verdis continent far to the east of Imperial territory. While Tyrants resembled them, they were obviously different. A Military Campaign was launched as a joint effort between Gandiva and the Imperial remnants to investigate the Lian territories. What they found was a scene of horror. Entire cities full of husks of what used to be people, sucked dry by the Tyrants like a plague of zombies. a bloody battle broke out, with liberation forces fighting their way to the Lian capitol, breaking them away from a terrible nightmare. the three nations redoubled their efforts, and snuffed out the Tyrant uprising, killing most and enslaving the ones that exhibited the most control.
-The first air ships in Lian lands were Imperial Pirate ships. the Imperial and Gandivan powers graciously offered building schematics to the Lians to create their own ships to protect their skies. Again, wondrous trade between three empires began. Races inter-mingled more. People were happy until the birth of the first demon, Madgav. A Deva working as a guard on a slave ship was ambushed by a starving Tyrant, draining him. Humans and Gandivans die when drained. Lian become other Tyrants. But Deva, the divine reward from the gods, became monsters when stripped of their magical divinity. Their mind destroyed, the Demon who was once Madgav torn the ship asunder by himself, then took flight for the Imperial nation. In the air, he could not be defeated. Even the greatest of Gandivan warships were drained and fell to the ground, adding to Madgav's power. Madgav's own folly would prove his downfall. While we was powerful, when he took to the ground, there was little to no energy for him to suck into the abyss that was his soul.
-I stood there beneath Madgav as the Lian warship, simply named "Music", torn through the rainy clouds. So massive was the ship that the blue sky was shown behind it as it shoved the thundering clouds aside. Gandivan ships were a brilliant silver and blue, with sleek lines that reflected sunlight. This ship, however, looked as if the forest itself had come to put Madgav down. The clouds littered its leaves with moisture, making it sparkle and shine like a rainbow all over. As Madgav flew toward the ship, Lian soldiers began to descend, many giving their lives until several Imperial-Style ships from Verdis caught Madgav with their grappling hooks. Hundreds of feet in the air above me, Madgav was ripped to pieces, showering me in the pure essence of the void. I, too, became a demon that day.

    --Wynit, Pirate Lord

    Building Your Ship:
Your Ship has parts it needs to function, like a f***ing engine.... You can't fly without those, you know? There are other important things, like the size of your ship, how it flies with the power provided by the engine, and so on. These have a "Quality" rating, starting at 0, which is "I dont have one". Low Quality is 1, with higher qualities being Higher Numbers. Yay!
    Spoiler:

Ship Size: How big is your ship? A Ship's overall size is generally refered to as its Class, with high class ships being large powerful battle-cruisers. Particularly, this affects how many things and how much room is on your ship, in addition to how large and hard to fly it is. The amount of things able to be carried on a ship is determined by the equation: [Class] + 2(Class) + 3. A Class of 1 would be [1] + 2(1) + 3 = 6. A Class of 2 would be [2] + 2(2) + 3 = 9, ect.
Civilian Class Ships: Normal people can save up their whole lives to buy and fly one of these! Fun stuff!
Class 1: [Size 6] Usually a personal ship for adventures and the like. The smallest of ships with the easiest to acquire charters.
Class 2: [Size 9] General ship for a group of people on an adventure. Prefered for the adventuring life due to its comfortable size; big enough to house a group of friends, and small enough to avoid military scrutiny.
Class 3: [Size 12] Small time merchants and large groups of adventurers will employ ships of this size. Not exactly practical for a group of close friends, so the more secure towns, as well as greedy eyes watch these ships.
Merchant Class Ships: Wealthy People can save up their whole life and buy one of these, to make more money to buy the next ship, and so on. Its always about money ._.
Class 4: [Size 15] This is a large ship for just people. A Working crew and place to store lots of cargo usually accommodates these ships.
Class 5: [Size 18] They just keep getting bigger. Once ships start getting this big, you might see them carry a smaller ship along with them to launch in case of pirate attack!
Class 6: [Size 21] Entirely unnecessary for all but the ridiculously wealthy. When a man wants to compensate, THIS is how he does it, baby!
Military Class Ships: As you can guess, only the military has access to ships of this size. They are Huge juggernauts of the sky, some capable of destroying (Or housing) cities by themselves.
    Class 7: Standard Military Cruiser
Class 8: Slightly Less Standard, but not uncommon.
Class 9: Battle Frigate, Line Breaker, and badass super ship.
Class 20: The Lian Flying Fortress, "Music". It is large beyond Reason, and just as beautiful.
Engine: This gives power to everything on the Ship. An Engine's Quality must be equal to the combined quality of your Hover and Propulsion Systems, minus 1. So a Quality of 1 for Hover and Propulsion means you need to have an Engine of 1 Quality. a Hover/Pro of 2 means you need to have an Engine of 3. Other things might make your engine need to be better, like Magic-Based sub-systems, ect.
Propulsion: Flipy-Flap Wings, a Fire Barfer, a Grippy Grabber. SOMETHING that makes your ship MOVE whiles its in the Air. Propulsion measures how fast a ship can move an maneuver. Propulsion must be AT LEAST half of the Ship's Class in quality, or it cannot move. If it is less than equal, consider yourself slow like a brick.
Hover: A Balloon? Wacky Disc things? This is why you are in the Air, and why you STAY up in the air, instead of gliding downward. Hover must be equal to Ship Class in Quality, or you cant go up! (Or you come crashing down...)

GunsGunsGuns: Even the smallest private vessal has at least one on-board cannon, usually a rear-facing swivel gun to shoot at would-be pirates! Quality affects how powerful a Gun is. Guns have an A and B Variant. A Variant Guns take ammunition. B Variant guns take energy instead, but require a Conductor to fire them.

Tractor Beam!: No. Its a Grappling Hook on the end of a Harpoon Canoon or similar. You need these to dock or BOARD OTHER SHIPS LIKE A PIRATE! They Have two Types.
    1) Grappling Cannon: This thing fires or Launches a Grappling hook or other useful tether to the dock, or the ship you're attempting to catch and board like a pirate. They can dock a Size 2 Ship, and additional hooks increase the Dock Size by 1 Each.
    2) Tractor Beam!: Yes, Fine there are magical tractor Beams. They work MUCH better than Grappling hooks, but require energy from an Engine. Tractor Beams have a Quality Rating. A Tractor Beam can pull a ship each to its Quality times 2+1. [2(Q)+1] They require energy to use, but only while in use, so if you're not trying to dock or board, you have spare energy! If you ARE using them, they take their Quality worth of Energy to use.

Place to Sleep: Gotta Sleep. Might be some rooms below, Might be the floor of a tiny little main deck. But you gotta sleep. Cept the Conductor...We'll get to that. Quality determined the amount of People who can comfortably Sleep. You can have a 0 for this one! Crew Limit is Quality+3+Ship Size. Sleeping Quarters can only be half the size of the ship in quality.

Other Rooms: This could be a kitchen, or a shower, or some other thing you might find on a ship they would generally improve the quality of life, but not have an impact on the ship's combat and maneuvering. A Kitchen might improve your Cook's cooking, while a small garden might might improve the ingredients they can cook with. Your Mechanic would love a workshop!

Armor: Ships do Air combat. Its a given. Armor starts at a Quality of 1. 0 would mean you have no walls! Each degree of Armor your ship has adds 10 "Hitpoints" to it. Gun Quality directly subtracts from this when shooting ships. Each point of Armor decreases Ship Speed by 5%. Armor of 4 or higher is metal Armor, with higher degrees representing more plating and covering more of the ship.
Armor Class 0: Its like you took all your important stuff and put it in a boat, and everyone gets to stay on the deck!
Armor Class 1: Thick, tightly-bound leather makes most of your walls, with a wooden support here and there.
Armor Class 2: Wooden walls encompass the important parts of the ship and living areas, making for a comfortable airborne life.
Armor Class 3: When you don't have enough for fully metal walls, you cover your wooden ones to metal scrap, making make-shift metal armor!
Armor Class 4: Wooden walls properly plated in metal, or thin metal walls.
Armor Class 5: Good metal walls, with ridges and grooves to deflect bullets and other small fire.
Armor Class 6: Thick, manly metal walls and plating. Anything beyond this is just bigger and thicker.

Ship Type: Not everyone builds ships the same. Imperials make light, fast skirmishing ships, while the Gandivans have mastered flying fortresses. Most people will have Imperial Ships. They're cheap and easy to make and fast.
--> Imperial: all but the Largest Battle ships of the Imperials were wooden, akin to flying Galleons. Because of this, they were much faster than the Gandivan Ships during the war, but also shot down much faster. Imperial Ships gain 50% Movement Speed, and only reduce movement speed after each point of Armor above 2 it has. (So 3 Armor would be +45%)
--> Gandivan: Beautiful Flying Fortresses. The Largest of them made completely of steel, shining with the brilliance of the sun. Each Point of Armor above 3 adds additional hitpoints equal to the Armor Rating (Armor 4 Would be 40+4, 5 would by 50+[4+5])
--> Lian: Rivaling the Gandivan ships for their beauty, and being far most cost effective. Lian ships are born from nature itself, as if the trees came together to make a beauteous sky dragon. They are space efficient and energy efficient, but like the timeless oaks they represent, slow to move and still only made of wood. Lian Ships can hold 1 Extra Spot for Components, and produce 1 extra Energy, but move 20% slower than other ships, and their speed is reduced by 10% instead of 5% for additional Armor.
-->Tyrant: Tyrants aren't actually a unified Race, but Pirate Ships have been called the style and make of the Tyrants out of prejudice. Tyrant Ships come with an extra Grappling Cannon for free, but aren't well received in the docks.

    :Your Ship's Charter:
This is almost as important as the ship itself, and depending on how you get yours, almost as expensive! The ship's Charter lets military officials know you aren't a Pirate so they don't shoot you down on sight. Similarly, you are not cleared to leave from or land at a air port you're not Chartered to be at. Your Charter is a Driver's Licence that lets you drive and park in a specific area. The better your Charter, the farther you can go.

Your Charter is held by a special individual, the Charter Holder/Captain. While Magic might be beyond some people, imprinting a Charter's magical code on a person's essence is quite simple. Simply having that person with you is like having the driver's licence. A Dockmaster would read their magical essence, refereed to at the Magical Code and from that be able to determine if your ship may land or take off. Charters can also be kept physically, as a piece of paper. Be warned however, a single ship holding multiple mismatched charters is a tell-tale sign of a pirate.

Your Charter works in two ways; First, it registers a specific ship or ships. When a ship is upgraded, or changed, your charter must be altered accordingly (For a hefty handling fee, of course!) If you don't have the proper Charter for your ship, you'll either pay a nasty tax ("Opps, You only have 1 Cannon registered on this ship, not two!"). Not be cleared for takeoff ("This Charter says you have a ship the size of a house...not a mansion...") or you'll go to f***ing jail ("You have 7 different charters, and not one details the fact you're armed to the teeth...")
-Second, it tells people where your ship may fly. Unless you're flying something that looks like a pirate ship, or in known pirate air-space, military patrols rarely check you in the air. However they always check you before take-off and during landing. If your Charter doesn't match the area it says you're allowed to be in, you're likely a pirate. Docks will only deny your landing, which military patrols will take you into custody.

    Cool Ship Building tricks!
Instead of Making just ONE super awesome Engine on a Giant Ship, while not A Bunch of Engines? Instead of one GIANT Balloon, why not LOTS of Ballons/Wings? If your Ship Size permits it, you can add multiple Engines, Hovers and Propulsions, even sleeping quarters (For a Cruise Liner!) If you have multiple systems in this case, their totally output/Cost is Addititve (Means Two Quality 2 Propulsions would COST 4 Engine Power Total)

    You and your Crew!
What, you thought you'd pilot the ship by yourself? Hell no. You need a Crew! These are people you are close to, and have grown up with your whole life....or just a bunch of mercenaries....or your slaves....or you're their slave O.O; Point is, You gotta have more than one person flying a ship if you want it to be any good! Red Classes are Required! Each Crew member will have a main class and a sub class.

Main Class: These are important things you gotta dedicate your life to, man.
The Conductor(s): The Conductor is the person who steers the ship and supplies the Engine with the energy it needs to power the ship. If the Conductor is not conducting, you better hope your ship is docked, cuz otherwise you're making a crash landing. Conductors rarely sleep, and take A LOT of Shady drugs and stuff to stay awake during long flights. They suffer withdrawals if they don't get their fix. They're Prone to horrible mental breakdowns and deteriorating brecause of the drugs they have to take. Being a conductor is not fun. Conductors of small ships (That's gonna be us characters, mostly) don't suffer from this problem, as they don't make flights that take weeks or months, and thus don't need the drugs. Commercial liners, and other Big Ships (Like the Military) usually have multiple conductors, so they can switch out. A Conductor can give power to and operate all the things linked to the Engine they're conducting, but can only concentrate on one thing at a time...like steering.

Sub-Classes: You can also put one of these as a main class. a Main Class Nurse would be a Doctor, and Maybe a Subclass Cook. (Nurse/Cook)
The Charter Holder: This is the person who has the Paper and Magical Code that allows a ship to take off and to dock. Generally refereed to as the Captain. A Captain's Charter is only as good as the magical code they've paid for. If you've paid for a Character that only goes to Imperial ports, then you cant land at Gandivan ports, ect. Luckily, as time goes on, you can upgrade and improve your Charter. The Captain is usually the conductor in smaller ships. Medium Sized ships and mercenary Companies will be employed by a merchant wealthy enough to pay for a Charter, but lacking in skill to man and power a ship. In fact, a Charter Holder only good for their Code and not much else is more common than not. A Charter Holder does not man their own Ship, a Captain is badass and does!
-->A Charter can be modified and upgraded to reach multiple docks and fly in different areas, as well as used to dock and take off multiple ships registered under that Charter.
Mechanic(s): Welcome to the World of Steam Punk. All this exciting, magical Technology and NO ONE can make something that wont fall apart some day, or while you're using it. The mechanic(s) could be anyone, but a Conductor Mechanic is kinda useless if something breaks in the middle of the air....Mechanics get only SLIGHTLY more sleep than a conductor. They are paranoid that their baby is just going to explode for no reason in mid air. The slightest sound in the wrong place freaks them out because it MIGHT be something breaking. If they can also feel the magic in the ship? May god have mercy on their sleep.
Navigator: using the Stars, magical leylines, and Sky Maps, the Navigator knows where to go on long journeys where you cant see point A and B clearly. A Conductor can Navigate and Conduct at the same time, usually. However if they start to suffer heavy withdraws and hallucinate...?
Nurse: This is the cutie-pie in a sexy outfit that gives you your shots....You wish. While many nurses are Female, sure, the Nurse/Doctor role is the role that looks after your crew's health, and administers the DRUGS to your Conductor if they need them.
Cook: Usually your Nurse/Doctor will fill this role, but you gotta eat on long trips, and in the world of Steampunk, we somehow have never researched cold storage and preservation among the common folk. Sucks.
Soldier: This is the badass who knows how to use guns and fight pirates!

Species: Don't forget what Species your crew members are!
Imperial Human: These are normal, average humans. Their empire lost the great war between Gandiva and now live peacefully(?) under Gandivan rule. No Special Bonuses of detriments for them.
Gandivan: They look mostly human, except they have wolf ears and claws in place of their normal ears/hands/feet, in addition to a big fluffy tail! Their fur is anywhere from silver to blue. The Drugs that Conductors use to stay awake are meant for Gandivans, thus, Gandivans don't suffer from withdrawls. However, Gandivan's need a lot more food than normal to survive.
Deva: Half Gandivan, Half Imperial. They are beautiful, winged beings. They look somewhat human, but have beautiful sparkling bat-like wings, covered in Gandivan fur. Their eyes are golden and Silver. They do not have Ganvidan Claws or Ears, but they do have the big, fluffy tail! Deva are magical beings, and any Engine or Energy-Based thing (Gun, Tractor Beam) is treated as if it is +1 Quality. Because of their nature, however, their connection to the temporal world demands they constantly be dreaming. They are not immune to the withdrawal effects of the Gandivan Drugs. in fact, They need to take more drugs and suffer more severe withdrawals to prevent sleep during flights.
Lian: The Fey people of Verdis, a continent far to the east. They are smaller then Imperials and Gandivans by a tiny bit. They are deeply connected to Leylines, and when Leylines can be used, a Lian is treated as a Navigator, no matter their sub class. The natural world of Verdis is alien to Lian, however, and they cannot be Mechanics.
Tyrants: No one knows when the first Tyrant came into existence, but they spread like a plague in the Lian civilization. A Lian drained of all their natural magic is turned into a Tyrant. Their skin becomes black and their eyes completely white. They need Magical Energy like a Vampire needs blood. While they are sated, though, they treat all energy based things as if they're two points of quality higher. If not, it is treated as 1 lower. No one likes Tyrants, not even Tyrants, because Tyrants try to drain other Tyrants.
Demons: The result of a Tyrant getting their hands on a Deva. Tyrants avoid draining Devas as much as they can, because the birth of a demon is a terrible thing. however somethimes Tyrants cant control their lust for energy. These terrible beings are the embodiment of negative energy. Their skin turned Black or ashy grey and their eyes shine a brilliant green. The inside of their wings have flickers of sparkling light that is quickly devoured by the void of their soul--the pictures of galaxies forever being destroyed. Demons treat all energy based things as being a quality of 0, but while draining those things they become terrible beings of power. Most demons are hunted down and killed as soon as they're discovered anywhere.

    Countries

Imperial Remnants: A Vast, easy to work land with the highest population of inhabitants. Pirates, Political schemes and illegal slavery are common here. Has three large cities--Two on the Gandivan-side coast and one on the Verdis-side coast, that can dock and launch a ship without a proper Imperial Landing charter, making them hot-spots for Pirates and smugglers--particularly in the East Port where Gandivian influance is the weakest. The Capitol city has seen better days, but it by no means terrible. Imperial Royalty was killed in the war, and Gandivan monarchs are now in place, overseeing an Imperial Council. Horse-drawn carts are commonplace in Imperial lands, as many cities are connected by road. The Imperial lands house one of Gandiva's three overlords, the Sun Admiral Kanna, who sits on the Imperial council. She is well received among the populace for her proactive role in building economy.
Many smaller townships and cities dot Imperial Lands. The farther from the Capitol you travel, the more nationalism one finds. Gandivan private ships are a prime target for nationalist pirates. Because of the many fights outside the country's boarders, there is much money to be had in scrapping. Imperial lands house the largest population of amateur mercenaries.

Gandivan Empire: A Smaller Continent build like a fortress all around. High cliffs separate all but the western coast from the sea, and the rest of the landscape is rough and dangerous. Aquatic monsters and rouge soldiers hide in the many cliffs and caves around the Gandivan landscape. There they stay, because assaulting a Gandivan city is madness. Each city is built like a towering fortress and shines like the ships they've become so well-known for. Gandivan expansion is slow, but absolute, and thus the Gandivan empire controls all of its home continent. Travel by land is difficult, at best. Air ships were first created in Gandiva to provide greater trade and mobility in its unfriendly land. The Capitol city sits on the coast, on top of a river delta and its cliffs. Gandivan Monarchs rules Gandiva through military display and absolute power. Two of Gandiva's Overlords reside in their home country--The Star Admiral Anon Kassus, and the Moon Admiral Tennic. All Military operations are first presented to the Star Admiral before they are carried out. Not only is there a port in each Gandivan city, but there are even "rest stops" dotting the landscape--some uninhabitents, and others serving as friendly military posts.
The largest city by population--Ganan, has two ports--An royal military port open to the public, and an open charter port in the Imperial slums. Despite the tendency for Open Ports to attract crime, the heavy military presence in Ganan deters all but the insane from attempting illegal activities.

Lian Territory: While Gandiva is as short as a three day trip from the nearest Imperial port, Verdis is anywhere from a week to a month. Special Lian guides that can read the Leylines can cut the time down to five days, but the cost is steep. The land itself is a lush jungle that seems to move and call at all times. Cities are suspended in the trees, underground, build into the sides of mountains, or anywhere you can imagine them. The most famous of Lian cities is a small flying city, kept afloat by the dedicated work of Dragons. Exploration into Lian Territory can reveal anything from ancient ruins, monster-infested fortresses or entire undiscovered Lian populations. Lian are as much a mystery to themselves as they are to the other races. All cities are built on intersecting leylines, as is the law of Lian people to do so. The Capitol city of Starlight Vale has a total of 47 intersecting leylines within its populated area. Only Deva and Lian find the area pleasant, while the magical saturation makes Imperials and Gandivans uncomfortable, or even deathly ill in rare cases.
There is one Open port in Lian Territory, full of swindlers and greedy merchants looking to make money off of gullible tourists. Unchecked private military groups are the main force of the Lian people, with the official army being dwarfed by comparison. Regardless of the unstable nature, Each well-known group is loyal to the Lian leadership, and connected to them by the Heartsting, a liaison bwtween their company and the Holy Council of Verdis. At a moment's notice, the coucil can send a message to all Heartstrings in Verdis, potentially mobilizing the continent "in a heartbeat" toward a single goal.

Brainstorm your ideas! I'll be back later to clean this post up and make the application process!

RULES and things to keep in Mind!

->Ships cost money. Their cost grows exponentially as they get bigger. I wont enforce money rules unless I have to, but generally only commercial and military ships ever get Size 4 or higher. Well established pirates and mercenary groups might have some large ships, though.
->No. You cannot be a Demon
->This is an Open world with much to explore. It is anywhere from amazing to Dangerous. try and keep that spirit in mind as you fly through the skies.
->The war is over, but: People get along fine, but the Gandivan and Imperial empires have a tense relationship. Tyrants are tolerated, at best--most are slaves.
    -> DONT FORGET THE MAGIX!

I gazed up at the sable-haired maiden with eyes so full of warmth it appeared she was crying silently. My trecherous mouth opened, "Why do you look so troubled, Princess?"

Slowly, she moved her eyes from the moon to me. She studied my imperfections before her for what seemed to be a blissful eternity before gracing me with her voice, "I've slain this land's only prince. What use, now, is a princess?"

As the maiden left my presence, so too did my heart.

Hm.. Would it be possible for some users to share the same ship? Could our characters would be part of the same crew
Have you ever crossed the line between sanity and madness? You would be amazed by what lies beyond the fog..

      Yes!

Once I flesh out how it'll all work (Applications and Ship Status) There will be a limit of Characters a Player will control

Certainly, its best if EVERYONE IS ON THE SAME SUPER AWESOME SHP!!!!! Then we can.....SHIP you all together! LOLOL<AHAHAHAHLOLWROLFOALGKE

Nah, but the whole point is to have you and the others, with some side characters to represent that its not just 1 or two people in the middle of nowhere doing nothing at all times.

I might join in on this. Since the last Steampunk RP kinda fell apart (thanks to MajorMario, myself, and a few others) and the other RPs I'm in are proceeding at a snail's pace, I'm more than willing to jump in.
I'll see to writing up a couple of apps, and even prototype one of my own characters, but only if I see other people jump in too.

That said, some things are still rather confusing to me regarding the OP. I have no clue as to what to think about some of the stuff. idk if I need to reread this sh*t many times over or if the OP is not finished.

Totally not finished. Sleep Deprivation is great for creation, bad for explanation

One of the best lines I have seen.

I may use the app of that steampunk RP TR spoke about, it could be a good second chance for her.

Basically they're less human because of how magical they are. They want to sleep more often so they can be connected to a transient, less physical world.

TL;DR : They're weak and need a lot of rest

This Is almost finished. still adding crew members and such.
                  Spoiler:

                  The Sanctum Avenger

                  Ship type: Imperial
                  Ship size 2
                  Engine Quality: 2 teir 3
Propulsion: Two tier 1 jet engines which are placed near the back and two large wings near the middle
Hover Quality: Propulsion thrusters the require a lot of power to lift the ship from the ground but a lot less to keep it a float

                  Armor 2

Place to sleep One long room below the dining hall. There are six bunk beds with three on each side of the room.. A single chest separates each bed with an additional three in the back. These chests are used for personal storage for each crew member. By this logic the ship can house up to 12 members comfortably.

Other Rooms: There is a dining hall above the bedroom with a bar in the back equipped with all the necessary utilities for cooking most types of food. there is also plenty of rum, wine and other drinks to go around.

                  Docking Method: Le Hook

Guns: One rear cannon which shoots armor pricing rounds. Due to how the cannon was set up, it will reload itself after each shot so long as there is ammunition left. Each reload takes about five seconds. The ship will only hold a maximum of 20 rounds per go plus the one already in the cannon, meaning there will never be more than 21 rounds on the ship at a time.

There are also always five high explosive rounds on the ship that the rear gunner can switch too by pulling a leaver. If the leaver is pulled then the next round to be loaded will be one of the high explosive rounds. These have are preferred for lightly armored eenemy ships or any ship with an exposed engine that can be targeted.

There are also two forward firing cannons in the front, these however are magic based gatlin guns which need to be fired in bursts in order to keep them from using up too much power. Continuous fire will cause the weapons to over heat and then they will need 10 seconds to cool down before they can be used again.

Charter: Due to the ship's captain being a wanted woman by the Gandivan people she may only safely doc in Lian territory where her reputation is quite a bit better.

Other Things: In case of emergencies the ship has an emergency power system. Three large wind meals which can be extended from the top of the ship to provide power to the rest of the ship's components. However they need to be manually set up via a cranck in the lower levels of the ship. Only a person of acceptable strength could successfully pull the crank over and over again enough times to deploy them.

Crew Members: 5/12 Karliah. Lia, Xander, Cecilia. Reisen (If you didn't want your character on this list and I've made a mistake please let me know)

                  Name: Karliah The Undying

                  Gender: Female

                  Race: Imperial Human

                  Age: 25

                  Appearance:

Class / Sub Class: Mercenary / Rear Gunner

                  Role on Ship: Captain

Nationality: She was born in Gandiva

Background: Karliah is a passion crazy loose cannon with a kind heart. While she would go above and beyond to help or avenge a friend she has no problem giving them a hard time either. Weather it's picking on them for being slow, weak or a little out of shape it doesn't matter, but she usually never means it to be offensive. Karliah takes pleasures in the simple things in life, like explosions, and fighting, and bigger explosions. She loves to play rough and can often get carried away in what she seems as harmless tomfoolery. She can get bored or angry very quickly if someone pushes the right buttons.

Karliah had a pretty normal childhood in an average house with average friends and poor grades in school. Her life was rather normal unti she turned 18. It was around that time that she joined the military because she wanted to serve and protect her people. Being an Imperial made it difficult for her but she was able to make a name for herself among the other privates. She was a skilled fighter and quickly mastered the spear which became her primary go to weapon for just about everything. However no sane soldier would bring a knife to a gun fight so she also learned how to use fire arms for whenever she may need them.

Her guns of choice are two magic based pistols that appear to have harpoons sticking out where the barrel should be. One shoots a normal miniature white harpoon bullet that flies and travels normally. This gun can be shot 8 times before it needs to be recharged. The other has a green harpoon which gets within close proximity of an enemy before quickly orbiting around the enemy and coming at them from the opposite direction that it was shot. This gun can only be fired once before it needs to reload and has a 40 second cool down time between shots. This is often used to take out targets with heavy frontal armor or who are taking cover behind a blunt. Keep in mind the harpoon like projectiles do not move at the speed of normal bullets and can be dodged if her enemy is quick enough. Because of this using the pistols at long range is almost impossible.

Lastly she also has one rifle meant for long range combat that she almost never carries on her. due to this her aim with the weapon is second rate but she can still hit a target from a long distance if it's standing perfectly still.

Karliah was in the military for five years until she discovered her commanding officer was corrupt. As it turns out he was working as a double agent for a crime syndicate that was using both pirate and military ships to transport illegal cargo from nation to nation. However Karliah wasn't the most stealthy of soldiers and her commanding officer had her captured on the spot. she was unarmed and outnumbered. there was no way she could have protected herself against countless armed soldiers.

Rather than killing her off however Karliah was marked as a traitor to her country and imprisoned in a rather harsh environment. unlike the normal military prisons, this one was quite different. The prisoners held there were brought out once a week and forced to fight to the death with only what melee weapons they could find. Sort of a gladiator type thing.

Karliah specifically was a fan favorite in this underground sport, winning fight after fight and earning the title. Karliah the Undying. Even when fighting six men at a time, no one could withstand her mighty spear. While Karliah didn't enjoy taking lives for sport week after week after week, she did what she had to, to survive.

This went on for a few months until something unusual happened. Karliah's usual guard was sick and bed ridden so he was replaced by a much younger more impulsive male. Karliah knew she had one shot so she took it. It wasn't hard to seduce the boy and get him to let his guard down. The moment she got the chance she knocked the boy out cold.

Karliah quickly snatched the boy's keys and freed herself along with a handful of the other prisoners and formed a temporary truce. The small team of fighters managed to fight their way past dozens of guards before before eventually reaching the exit and breaking free. Karliah grabbed her belongings and ran as quickly as she could, once they were out the door, it was every man, or woman for themselves.

Karliah managed to slip away from the soldiers by hiding in a teir 1 pirate ship by the docks, acting as a stow away for a short while. It was there she first met Lia who would eventually become one of her very best friends. At the time, Lia was being held prisoner for uhh.. "borrowing" some of the maps the pirates were using. Karliah freed the woman and the two of them worked together to clear the ship of pirates. This ship would eventually become Karliah's own ship. She wasn't able to pilot it on her own, but thankfully Lia was there to assist her. They flew just far enough to land outside of Gandivan territory.

They would have flown farther but the ship needed an engineer and a few other crew members if they wanted to get anywhere fast. Karliah and Lia mutually agreed to stick together as the partnership was beneficial to both sides. Eventually the two grew to appreciate each others company and two allies soon became friends.

It's been two years since then. Karliah and her new crew have been exploring the skies, exploring and doing a bit of vigilante work when the occasion arises. they've been officially marked as pirates by most governments and have a decent sized bounty on all of their heads. Karliah has given p on trying to clear her name but she hopes one day to take revange on her former commanding officer.

                    Time for my Application!

                    Conductor, LFP!

                    Xander Tane

                    Gender-Race: Male Human
                    Age-Appearance: 19
A young, spry man with messy hair. He wears a Imperial Militia uniform that seems like its sleeves have caught of fire more than once. The decorations on his shoulders mark him as a Conductor. His eyes have bags under them and are a bit red from drug usage, a common thing for Conductors. When on foot or traveling, he has a military-issued backpack that holds things. Hanging from his belt are a pair of metal gauntlet-like weapons he can swiftly put his hands into.
Class / Sub Class: Conductor / Soldier
                    Role on Ship: Mercenary
                    Nationality: Imperial
                    Background:
                    Spoiler:
Xander Tane was born like any other boy, and enrolled in the Imperial Standing Militia at the age of 16. He was proactive, spunky and ready for action. Xander mastered martial combat, and combat magic through his boot camp training; Perfect for Pirate hunting! Or at least he thought so. Instead most of Xander's detail was guarding passenger ships between Gandiva and Imperial lands. It was a boring life, with little respect given from the passengers, especially the Gandivan nobles. Passenger ships didn't have much for pirates to steal, so they didn't need to be guarded heavily. Xander was left to a life of cleaning and boredom, slowly being promoted to bigger ships they would rot his happiness even faster.

On the most grand of these ships was Sennyie, the beautiful young Gandivan Captain that was perfect in every way and was demanding to be courted by the spunky, young Xander! Okay she really didn't care at all about him, and her ship wasn't that grand, either. She was nice and jovial, though, and that made Xander happy. He was smitten with her, and turned down all his future promotions so he could stay on her ship. He was ready to resign himself to this life of simply watching a beautiful woman. It was like they were already married, taking care of a house and slowly growing closer as the years (translation: Months) crept by until one fateful day when their home was attacked by pirates.

Xander's immediate thought was to take to the skies, jumping in a small skirmisher craft and shooting off like a rocket. He didn't know how to fly these things at all! In the sky above him were several ships, and at the head of the foremost ship was a creature he'd never seen before. She was as black as night, with wings like a Deva's that seemed to suck up light all around them. A pirate ship shot out Xander's engine, and he left to try and fix it(With no knowlege of how to do so) While he was up and disconnected from his engine, the demon let out a wave of energy, draining all the ships in the air of their power. Xander was already falling, and crashed right back into the Passenger Ship. Xander was launched into the bridge. Conductors at engines were either dead or passed out. Sennyie's faint voice pleaded Xander to do something, but what?! Xander dragged himself up to the main engine and tried to connect to it. Theres no way he'd shoot their big ship off like a rocket.

The ocean waters looked incredibly hard and solid when the ship was crashing toward them. Xander cried and pleaded to whatever deity was out there. He didn't know who he wanted to save--Himself, Sennyie or the people. Someone just had to be saved!

The ship tilted upward ever so slightly. "Come on!!" Xander demanded, forcing the ship up more and more. It wasn't enough to stop impact, but it was enough to keep the ship from being obliterated by the impact. With a large crash, Xander's world went black. When he opened his eyes, he was still on the bridge as flashing lights flickered over the tattered ship. Sennyie's cold, lifeless hand was grasped tightly around Xanders, her body impaled on a large piece of glass. "Over here!" a female voice called out. a Gandivan girl, followed be several men came rushing into the bridge. Xander's vision faded once more.
                    "Oh god...They're all dead?".
"No, one of them has to be alive. Someone flew the ship".
"Hello? Hello?! Can you hear me..? Y-You saved them....Wake up...please wake up..."

Class / Sub Class: Navigator (Probably a conductor too)
Role on Ship: Adventurer, mercenary, inventor
                      Nationality: Outer ports of Gandiva
Background: Born in a port city where new inventions was a common thing along with traders and exotic things, a younger Lia was always marveled to see such things, she always enjoyed what people could do with their intelligence and hard work as she always looked at her left arm and her eye in the mirror, works from a old and kind inventor who was her neighbor. Liaīs parents on the other hand were always busy in their jobs leaving the redhead with the old inventor. As she grew up, the redhead helped in whatever was needed in the city as a courier or assistant in an invention, but her favorite place was with the old inventor who updated her eye and arm to keep up with her biological body.

One day though, the old man needed to go to a far away part of the world to work on a big project, he never said a word about such project to his assistant, yet he gave her a book. The book had notes and writings about hundredths of places and Lia discovered that the old man was a retired adventurer who wanted to go on a last adventure. He told the twenty two years old girl to prepare for her own adventure as he got on a zeppelin and left.

During her adventures, the red haired woman had her fair share of situations where she needed to use her wits to outsmart traders and guards, and then came her skills with weaponry and machinery as she survived firefights with pirates and some law bringers who felt they had the power to control the people.

Yet there were times where things would go sour and Lia would be in problems, and there was this memory of hers that always made her laugh. It was a relatively small group of pirates who she had been following, they had some important maps that were of great use for her current job, it took her quite the effort to even find the camp, but luck wasnīt in her side as she was captured by them as she managed to obtain the maps.

This wasnīt the first time that Lia was captured, she just needed to wait for a good time to knock out the usual dumb lackey who was on the bottom of hierarchy, but someone beat her to it, it was a girl who in the future would be a great friend of hers.

They managed to obtain the small ship and throw the idiots out of it, the girl seemed to be like a soldier, but lacked the stiffness that most of the empire toy soldiers. Fortunately for the brunette, Lia knew how to pilot the vessel. They knew they would have a hard time, but with a smirk, the inventor took off her boots and showed the maps

That would be their first job together to one of the many adventures that Karliah and Lia would have.

Skill: Lia is good at moving due to her life as an adventurer, she can move with the grace of a cat, but can give a punch like a gorilla, in terms of melee fighting she has great abilities to protect herself and give a good knock out on her enemies. On the other side, weaponry is something she is like an ace, give her a gun and she will hit anything thanks to her mechanical eye that gives her better aiming on whichever gun. Another skill is to be a fast leaner in case of working on an unknown machine, if she is given instructions about something, she will understand in a quick time.

Guns: Obviously living as an adventurer had to have dangers, so Lia came prepared for the oncoming threats with reliable weaponry such as:

A sniper rifle with two types of ammo, the first one is of sniper type bullets having five of them per magazine, the second type is an explosive grenade bullet that has to be reloaded for each shot, this guy is called the Two-way Rifle and it is ready to blow heads off

There is always a time when bullets run out, so here we got a blade that thirsts for blood, donīt be fooled by its old and battered state, this old sword can still cut skin as butter and withstand powerful blows. The gear blade is ready to cut once more

So far all the character apps look good. Remember that the only real heavy "Abilities" and "gear" section is on the ships, and that's just so I can personally keep track of, and limit their power. Thats not to say we wont be shooting at other people with our GansGansGans, but a ship Cannon beats a personal weapon any day (Unless its a magic cannon and you dont have a conductor to fire it...then its useless)
I gazed up at the sable-haired maiden with eyes so full of warmth it appeared she was crying silently. My trecherous mouth opened, "Why do you look so troubled, Princess?"

This looks interesting, might join. One question though. What are the magic codes that your briefly went over? Do you NEED them? Are they something physical? Can they be stolen or used by other people? and so on.

Magic Codes are your Ship's Charter to fly.
With these "Magical Codes" your ship is not cleared for take-off, and will not be cleared to land at docks.

Its a "Magical Code" like a string of commands in programming that tells someone where the ship is and isn't allowed to land/launch from. It is both a Physical piece of Paper and the person holding that paper. The Person is the Charter Holder, and is the actual important part. The paper is just the physical copy. Updating the Charter section now!

@Katrix. From what i've seen so ffar i think the rp is more based off of ship vs ship rather than character vs character. hens why all he racial buffs/debuffs directly effect ones ability to fly or fight with said ship. That's not to say there can't be any combat off ship where maybe two crews have docked, both after the same goal, but it's not the main focus of the roleplay. feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.
