@Wriggle
Sure.
Might as well make some progress.
I should be able to post something, maybe have John ask a question.
Oh, before I forget, ATWAG needs a response for this post.
Spoiler:Medic Tent
"We still have time before the ceremony, right?", Isaac asked Satori.
(If we hurry, we should be able to get Koishi help and make it to the ceremony.)Originally posted by S121Every time I see a new post on the Forum, I feel like a little kid during Christmas, all giddy.sigpic

Aye
Oh I'm not really here, I'm working on finishing Chemistry homework, but I think it's time I started planning out a team a bit more legitly here.
Teams need to have the spectrum of elements and a few certain other things that I can't think of right now, right?
So...
I got a Pidgey, a normal...
Drilbur, a ground...
so then I would assume I then need
water
fire
grass
dark
to finish the team for being able to handle anything, right? Or do I need a different perspective on this?

@Wriggle
Well I'm not THAT much of a scrub, only with the newer generations of Pokemon.
Back in my day (I'm too young to be saying that), we had only fire, water, leaf, fighting, lightning, psychic, and normal.
About the other thing, no problem. I'm patient.Last edited by S121; 10-19-2013, 02:08 AM.Originally posted by S121Every time I see a new post on the Forum, I feel like a little kid during Christmas, all giddy.sigpic

My internetz is being derpy so I'll tell you this first.
Type coverage is important, but it is also important to consider your Pokemons' stats, movepools, and abilities as well.
Take this for instance:
Electrode @Damp Rock - Rain Dance / Explosion / Thunder / Taunt
Uxie @Damp Rock - Rain Dance / Memento / Psychic / Stealth Rock
Lanturn @Damp Rock - Rain Dance / Thunder / Hydro Pump / Thunder Wave
Kabutops @Life Orb + Swift Swim - Swords Dance / Waterfall / Stone Edge;/ X-Scissor
Ludicolo @Life Orb + Swift Swim - Surf / Ice Beam / Grass Knot / Focus Blast
Gorebyss @Life Orb + Swift Swim - Surf / Ice Beam / Psychic / Hidden Power (Grass)
Notice that most of these pokemon are Water type. And yet I trample Grass types and Electric Types. Why?

@Pringles
Das one part. Kabutops definitely can take a hit from an Electric attack and so can Ludicolo. Ludicolo is also very strong against other Grass type. Uxie is good for taking down Toxicroak and other "Dry Skin" pokemon.
This team I just mentioned is an basic UU-tier Rain Dance Offense team, where three pokemon sets up rain dance with high speed, sets up supportive moves, and sometimes kicks ass (I swept with that Electrode once) while the three Pokemon with Swift Swim (Double speed in rain) sweeps.
By utilizing the moveset and the ability to move faster in water, you can overcome the type difference.
@Cuckoo
And yes moves have typage too. When a Pokemon with a certain type uses the same type attack, you get a 20% increased power. This is called STAB, or same-type attack bonus.Last edited by WriggleRid3r; 10-19-2013, 02:39 AM.

I am here.
So let's say a Tentacruel and a Kadabra is fighting. Kadabra is a Psychic type, but if he uses something like Shadow Ball, the damage dealt to Tentacruel, a Water/Psychic Pokemon, is not super effective.
In short, offense is determined by the move's typage, while defense is determined by the Pokemon's typage.
@Pringles
Edited my IC to include Professor Rowan.
