"It is to my knowledge that the developers of Pokeballs are from Silph Co." Professor Rowan answered as the Aron tried to climb John's armor to no avail. "However, none of us Professors know how the Pokeballs really work. Not even Bill, the Pokemaniac and an honorary member of Professorship, fully grasps the technology behind it."

The Meditite led Koishi and Snow to a small opening hidden by bushes. Inside the opening, there were four more Meditites. The biggest Meditite, standing just higher than Snow herself, was the father. The mother Meditite was at the same height as Snow. The two baby Meditites were the brother and sister. There were two more Meditite eggs in the deepest of the opening.

"Father!" The oldest Meditite ran to his family. "The Sneasels fled the lakefront, thanks to those two."

"Is that so, my som?" The father Meditite glanced at Koishi. He approached Koishi and Snow, and bowed down in gratitude. "Speaking in behalf of my family, I thank you."

"What a strange technology you have, but since the pokemon are comfortable inside the spheres and there is no harm, then I suppose they are safe for use" the fox said looking at the combee

"I have seen some of my kind with trainers and seem happy when they are in the balls, but I prefer being outside, I feel like sleeping when im in a pokeball" Diana said laying on the vixen´s lap

"It is no issue, I always help people when I can." Koishi said. Koishi looked at the little family. They looked happy, and that in of itself made Koishi feel good. Snow looked down in felt somewhat the same way. They did good this day, and that's what really mattered. Maybe they were stronger than either of them thought.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

"Please do accept these." The father Meditite took something out of his hairs: couple of red-and-white orbs. "A travelling Trainer lost them. He never came back for these, so we kept it. It will be of more use for you than for us."

"Are you kidding!? That acorn thing attacked us earlier and I nearly lost! My good friend Sandbite here had suffered serious injuries because of it! If you didn't pitch in when you did I don't think we would have won against it!" Chung said as he stood upright.

"Oh yea I apologize, but I should introduce myself! My name is Chung Seiker, and this is my good pal Sandbite! We've been trying to train in this here woodsy type area so we can get to Petalburg City safely! We hope to get a bag or something so we can hold any items in while we are there. As you might have guessed I'm kind of new to this whole Pokemon thing." He said as he rubbed the back of his head nervously.

John looked down and saw that the Aron was trying to climb up on him, but his energy shields prevented that from happening, due to them removing friction.

(Might as well...)

Seeing that it was having difficulty, John decided to help him. John reached down and gently picked up the Aron, letting it rest in his arms. Despite the fact that the Aron was over 132 lbs., John had no difficulty lifting and carrying him. John thought about what Prof. Rowan said about Silph Co., and how they were the only people that knew about the Pokeball's design. It was probably just as well, seeing as how many people used devices, yet never knew why they worked. John's question was never answered, so he figured that he would have to test it out later.

"This is a lot to take in. Is there a particular place that has all the information I need about Pokemon? How do people keep track of all the Pokemon?", John asked Prof. Rowan.

Koishi put Snow down and put the pokeballs inside of her hat, doing a bow to the Medicham in return.

"Thank you for the gifts, we'll be sure to use them." Koishi said.

Snow tried doing her own little bow, but almost ended falling over. "Yeah, thanks for the stuff. It was nice meeting you."

"Then we're both beginners." Yuuka smirked as she took her jacket off and slung it over her shoulders. Hoenn Region's overall warm atmosphere caused daytime temperature to reach 80s in the inlands even in November. "The name's Yuuka."

"If you're trying to get to Petalburg City, you can follow me." Yuuka motioned Chung to follow her. "I was on my way there anyway."

"Trainers keep record of their Pokemon with his device." Professor Rowan answered with a Pokedex in his hands. The Pokedex was a red gadget about the size of a smartphone. "This is PokeDex, where you record the informstion about the Pokemon you've seen or have captured."

"I remember when I first received that from you." Cynthia intervened. "How old was I then? 10?"

"I have quite a lot of extra, so I will give that to you as a gift." Professor Rowan generously offered. "If you do not have one, Renamon, I will present one to you as well."

Renamon declined the professor´s offer "Thank you, but I already got one, it came with the pokeballs in my package" she said taking out her pokedex from a pocket on her pants and showed it to him.

The device looked a bit weathered as if it was used for a while, although it had not much data, only starly, doduo and of course Combee where in the list

"Thank you.", John said to Prof. Rowan as he received the Pokedex with his free hand.

John looked at the strange little device and unfolded it. It reminded John of some of the book-storing technology in his universe, only less advanced. If that was the case, then this Pokedex was some kind of encyclopedia.
Seeing that Dr. Rowan was busy talking to Renamon, but still having questions, John asked Cynthia about the Pokedex.

"So I just point it at a Pokemon and it tells me what they are? Would I be able to look up Pokemon I haven't seen and research them for later?", John asked Cynthia in a curious tone.
