John thought about a name for the Aron. It had to be something that matched the pokemon's physical attributes. The Pokemon looked as if it had a shield on it's head, which gave John an idea for a name. John remembered how Dr. Halsey would sometimes teach the Spartans about Greek mythology and history, from where the Spartan-II super-soldiers got their name, to the more fantastical parts of the mythology. There was one such myth about a magic shield used by Perseus and the gods. To John, it was a fitting name.

"I think I'll call him Aegis.", John calmly said as he looked at the Aron in his left arm.

The Aron seemed to like the name, based on the happy expression in it's eyes.

"I named my Togetic Athena." Cynthia suggested. "Naming your Pokemon and calling their unique name helps with their growth."

"Hearthome is a large city in Sinnoh region. I have to meet somone there."

"If you want to get to Canalave City or Iron Island, you need to train your Pokemon a lot more. The wild Pokemon in the area has their Levels in the 30s."

John was ready to go, but as soon as Cynthia mentioned that he required stronger pokemon, he became slightly disheartened. If what Cynthia was saying was true, then John would have to wait much longer than he thought in order to proceed with his plan.

"Ahh...... Where would you guys recommend I train Aegis?", John asked Cynthia and Renamon.

"Hmm... How about you two take the Sinnoh League challenge?" Cynthia suggested. "Almost every major city contains a Gym where you must fight stronger Trainers in order to earn badges. You can get your Aegis and your Combee to the level that is needed to get to Canalave City and Iron Island."

John was about to speak, but then realized something about what Cynthia said. She was implying that Pokemon gyms were not places to train your pokemon. Were they arenas of some kind? John was confused by this concept, so he decided to ask Cynthia about it.

"When you say Pokemon Gym, do you mean like a place where we train the pokemon, or a place where we fight pokemon. I thought a gym was a place that had weights and, well, gym equipment.", John said to Cynthia in a confused tone.

From what you say, this league is intended that we go through each gym to get a medal or certificate so by the time we reach the summit, we will have beaten all the gyms of the region" Renamon theorized to the blonde

Cynthia couldn't resist but facepalm and chuckle. "This is a Pokemon gym, you silly. There are no weights there."

"Pokemon Gym is, yes, essentially a place where you fight trainers and reach the Gym leader. Beat the gym leader, win a badge. Get 8 badges, try out for the Championship in the Pokemon League. In the process of all that, your Pokemon generally gains enough levels naturally."

Route 217

The route south of the Acuity Lakefront was very long, and quite treacherous, as frequent snowstorms make it hard to see, and cover the ground with thicker than normal snow. Snow had to be put on Koishi's hat, least she become lost in said snow. Snow was like a watchtower, her eyes accustomed to this sort of weather.

"Are we heading the right way?" Koishi asked.

"To be honest, I don't know, but there is some sort of house ahead." Snow said.

The houselooked a quite old, and a bit ramshackled, some of the roof seemed to be falling off, and one of the windows was slightly cracked. It looked like no one had used the house in ages, and just sat here. But, it was shelter from the storm, and hopefully provided enough warmth for them to wait out the storm. Koishi approached the front door to a surprising sight. It looked quite new on the inside, and an old woman sat at a table. She had and odd smile, that of age and wisdom, and her eyes spoke thousands of words with a single glance.

"...A person?...A rare sight." the woman said, her words drawn out as if to lengthen the time of speaking.

"Oh, we didn't know anyone was using this house, we're sorry if we're intruding." Koishi apoligized.

"...No need..come in.... it's cold out there..rest for a while.." the woman offered.

"Thank you, madam." Koishi did a little bow, as not to knock Snow off her hat.

The woman and Koishi talked for a while, listening to her story of how she got here from the region known as Ransei, where 17 kingdoms fought among one another, until united. She didn't known what exactly happened to the region after she left though, and said she'd been here ever since. After a while, the storm outside settled down.

"It would seem that the storm's calming down for a while. We gotta go, but it was nice meeting you." Koishi said.

"...It is fine...thank you for visting....a gift.." the woman pulled out what looked an odd, thick sheet of black paper, white designs covering it, along a red circle in the middle.

"Thank you for your patronage." Koishi then turned to leave, but turned back as she forgot to ask her name, but to her surprise, everything changed as she turned. The home was no longer warm, the table no longer in one piece, and the candes which lit the room were long burnt out, but most importantly, the woman was gone. Snow looked a bit scared, but Koishi understood what she'd seen. She saw a glimpse into the past, a past long forgotten, s she stared into the piece of paper which still lied in her hands, putting it in her hat.

She would keep the memory alive, that's for sure, as she continued down the path known as Route 217.

Sometimes when you're driving down a road, a bug hits your windshield. It's ugly and unpleasant, but you just activate the wipers / cleaning fluid and it's gone in a few seconds. It's just part of driving down the road. You don't dwell on it, because that'd be silly. Bugs aren't worth the time.

You just discard their guts and keep on driving.

John felt slightly embarrassed by his misunderstanding, but how should he have known? Back in his universe, gyms were your stereotypical place to become physically fit. It made John wonder if they did have human gyms in this world. It was apparent that they did, seeing as how Cynthia knew what he was talking about.

"Eh, I'm new. I have a good reason...", John said as he responded to Cynthia's facepalm with a weak shrug.
