    Locations

    Máttur
The capital of Revirir. A futuristic city sprawling with technology and magitech. If you are going to live there you have to be quite rich, or be working for the country and be of high rank.

    Spoiler: Inner city

    Spoiler: City itself

    Spoiler: Seen from outside

    Hofn
Revirir’s main coastal city. This is where many of the goods that Máttur needs comes from. Quite prosperous and considered one of the richer and more well educated cities in Revirir.

    Spoiler:

    Sjávar
A fishing town that smells fish everywhere, especially rotten fish. Lies close to Lake Ljóst. Unlike Hofn, Sjávar doesn't have to many boats, and focus mainly on fishing. It's also much poorer than Hofn.

    Spoiler:

    Lake Ljóst
A big lake with a unusual light coming from the bottom. The area around the lake is mostly marsh with little light making the lake the only source of light for the cities in the near proximity. Some people claim that the lake is cursed while others says it is blessed and is the only thing that helps them.

    Öraefi
A town made in the middle of a wasteland. Not many survive to live in this harsh environment. Even knowledge about this town doesn’t live for long. It's said that travelers that arrive in the town usually die withing a week due to disease that the townsfolk have developed immunity towards, while travelers have not.

    Spoiler:

    Myrkur
What used to be a town where people would sing in the streets and be happy. Now it is exactly the opposite. Partly due to the marsh around Lake Ljóst. Another reason is that Myrkur is filled with bandits and outlaws of all sorts. Despite this tough, it's still a rather large town.

    Spoiler:

    Votlendi
A country besides Revirir. Votlendi have a long history of disputes over the border, and it's not uncommon for the two countries to go to war. The last war happened 19 years ago. Votlendi itself is a bit like Revirir, but more Mountains and less forests. Votlendi is also quite a bit more humid than Revirir, meaning more marsh like areas.

    Throngur
A lonely town where only a few people live. Very few people know about as it's located within the mountains. It's not entierly specified if it's the valley that's named Throngur, or if it's the town.

    Spoiler:

    Blómlegt Forest
A forest filled with huge trees and much vegetation. There aren’t as many trees here, but the fact that each tree there is is at least 1 meter in diameter makes up for it.

    Spoiler:

    Endalausir (Forest)
The only place Revirir don't have controll over yet that is inside their borders. It is usually treated as a separate country. A forest that apparently goes on forever. There have been reports that people having been walking for years despite going in one direction. Other reprots say that in rare cases people can actually end up younger when they come out than when they went in.

    Spoiler:

    Skógur
One of the many cities inside of Endalausir.

    Spoiler:

    Lake Skrimsli
A lake just by the mountains. It is said that a huge monster lives in the lake and swallows anyone that comes too far out. Due to how it looks on, many assume that it is quite shallow. When they go out they get eaten.

    Spoiler:

    Ormur Mountains
A area where there are a lot's of mountains. These are what separate Revirir and Fryst and is the only reason why Revirir is not at war with Fryst. That doesn’t mean that there aren't are soldiers wandering the border however. The mountains are also rumored to be full of all kinds of beasts and monsters.

    Spoiler:

    Fryst
A huge country to the north. Most likely the only country that could actually put up a fight with Revirir just because of it’s sheer size. As they are separated by the Ormur Mountains, there is no war yet.

    Ormur
A big and thriving city in the middle of the Ormur Mountains. It is currently unknow what race lives there, but it is definitively no humans.

    Spoiler:

    Arida
A country mostly covered with sand and desert. Revirir is currently engaged in a big war here.

    Lake Botnlaus

A big lake that seemingly have no bottom. It just keeps on going. Some speculate that it's the magic of Endalausir that causes this.

    Verslun
A big and thriving trading city full of treasure.

      Skógur – School

Sidna was enjoying her daily life. It was a good life. Currently she was in school. Here she learned about magic most of the time. “Everyone go and find your elemental partners. Today we will practice cooperation trough using the four core elements,” the teacher said. Today things seemed a bit different. Instead of the normal water groups, she was paired up with an air group. This was going to be quite an interesting day, as she had never worked together with an air group before. Because of this, she did not know what the result might be. “Alright, you ready?” one of the others on the group asked. “Yes, I’m ready. You two go on first. I’ll come in when you two have a good combination” she replied. This was how she usually did it. First, the two on her group formed a good combination. In this particular case, they managed to create what looked like a cloud of gas. After this, she released her powers on the cloud. As she did, the cloud of gas’s color changed to be more blackish with a purple hue on the edges. This was the trademark colors of void magic.

After this, the cloud of gas looked like it dissipated into the air. It did not tough. It was still floating through the air, most likely causing harm and pain wherever it went. After a few seconds, you could see the grass dying a little bit away from where it had been when they had last seen it. Worse was that if was heading towards one of the other girls on her group. The other groups had quickly seen what was happening and had turned their attention towards them. They were yelling things like “Run”, “Get away from there” and “Don’t let it get you”. Sidna knew who was responsible for this. It was her fault. She was the one that had caused the gas to become deadly. She did not really know what to do. She just stood there and watched. Watched as the gas caught up to the girl. Watched as the girl fell over and began grasping for air. Watched as one of the teachers that controlled wind ran over to the girl and began helping her. Maybe if she just managed to move, she would be able to help. It was easy if she knew what she was doing. However, she did not do anything. She could not. She was paralyzed by fear. Just as all the other times when something like this happened.

Endalausir Forest - Elven Village - "Inn"

        Tick
        Tock
        Tick
        Tock...

A young girl, barely ten years old, wearing a plain black dress with white ornamental lining, was kneeling on a rug in a room that seemed to have been carved from the inside of a tree. Intricate woodwork lined the walls where shelves with books and small ornamental items dotted along them. In front of her was a small clock with a pendulum that, to here, would never stop. It was perched on the mantle of the fireplace in the room.

        Tick
        Tock
        Tick
        Tock...

She swayed slightly in rhythm with the golden colored pendulum. Her grey eyes glinted with curiosity. Her short silver hair with two long strands on either side of her face moved in the opposite direction she swayed.

        Tick
        Tock
        Tick
        Tock...

A grey haired man wearing a black jacket with ornamental red patterns was leaning by a wall near a window with his arms crossed. His red eyes gazed out over the scenery outside the window like a guard. He was a man in his thirties, but his eyes seemed to reflect someone older. At his waist was two sheathed single edged sabers and a few satchels.

        Tick
        Tock
        Tick...

The sound of the clock stopping made the man turn slowly from his outlook towards the girl. The pendulum of the clock was at one end of its swing, as though being held in place. But the girl hadn't moved and was still staring intently at the clock.

        "Selene..."
The man spoke softly, though it did not hide the weariness in his voice and the hardened tone of a man that had seen much in his lifetime. The girl's focus snapped off of the clock to the man. as soon as that happened, the clock continued as it was.

        Tick
        Tock
        Tick
        Tock...

        "I- I was just-"
        "It's ok, Selene...I understand...Just..."
He glanced again out the window towards the streets below. "...Just be...cautious..."
"...Ok...." Selene's expression turned gloomy as she averted her gaze to the floor in front of her.
The man closed his eyes for a moment as though wishing there was more he could say, but then the girl broke his train of thought once more. "Revere?"
        "Yes?"
        "Why are we here again?"

"..." The man, Revere, contemplated how best to explain their current situation. Why they were there...in an elven village in the depths of a forest that could consume the foolhardy, to make them wander for all eternity...
        "...Revere...?"
        "...Oh...sorry..."
He responded, slightly distracted still. "We're here...because this is so far the safest place for us."
        "Why?"
"Because...there is a group of people that would do us harm. And we have to hide."
"Why do we have to hide?"
        "Because we have to."
"But...you're strong! Can't you just tell them to leave us alone?"

"If only it were that simple."
        "...I don't like it."
        "Hmm?"
"Why can't things be simple...why can't we live in the cities? Why can't I have friends?"
        "Selene..."
        "Why?"
Her voice started to crack as tears started to form. She wiped away tears on her sleeves as she hung her head.
Revere walked over to Selene and knelt down by her. "...I wish I could explain...I wish I could...but you have a gift that people would take advantage of...we have to keep it secret...for everyone's sake."
        "...*sniff*....It's...not fair...Why did I get Time Magic?"
"...Selene...You will understand in time. But now...now is just not the time..."
        "...Ok..."

          Azeruk's House - Endalausir Forest - 10:00 AM

Azeruk opened his eyes as the sun's golden rays shined through his window and onto his face. At first, the rays blinded him, so he absorbed the light and dimmed the rays. Azeruk sat up and outstretched his arms for a waking stretch, first horizontally, then vertically. He had one of the strangest dreams, where he dreamed that he was a boy named Jason Stone, and that he lived in a house with white metal walls and strange devices. Not only was her there, his father was as well, talking to a box on a wall that gave off light. After talking to it, the device spoke to his father. It was simply one of many of the dreams Azeruk had been having lately. Perhaps it was his slight change in routine, his eating habits, or maybe just a freak occurrence. Azeruk pushed the thoughts out of his mind as he yawned and finished the stretch, afterward looking at his clock.

(Ten o'clock, on the dot.), Azeruk thought as he looked at the ticking clock on his nightstand.

Azeruk pulled the blankets off of himself, got out of bed, and began his morning routine. First up was breakfast. After rummaging through the large ice-box freezer in the basement, Azeruk finally found what he had been looking for. Azeruk took the frozen bacon, closed the freezer, and walked up the stairs leading to the kitchen. After finding a cast-iron skillet, Azeruk then began to cook his morning meal. Azeruk's morning routine was relatively normal. He ate breakfast, he took a morning shower, he brushed his teeth,... only his routine had a slight alteration to it. Instead of cooking his frozen bacon on the stove like a normal person would do, Azeruk used lasers. Instead of scrubbing to remove filth in the shower, Azeruk would expel a high intensity wave of light energy from his body, obliterating anything that wasn't a part of him. Instead of using a toothbrush, Azeruk used lasers to disintegrate the bacteria. Azeruk hovered his hand over the bacon filled skillet and fired a low intensity, high temperature beam of light down into the skillet, quickly thawing out the bacon and causing it to sizzle. The steam from the ice billowed up as the temperature dramatically changed. Within a matter of minutes, Jason's breakfast was ready and he began to eat.

Once Azeruk finished eating, he then jumped into the shower. Many people were restricted to baths, but Azeruk's parents were very smart. They had created a way to take water from the well outside and use a piping system to expel it from above the tub. By Máttur's standards, it was very crude for a shower, but for the rest of the world, it was the cutting-edge of technology. Azeruk stripped down, hopped into the tub, and turned on the water. Thanks to the house's boiler room, the water came out as a warm, miniature cascade. Once Azeruk was properly drenched in water, he then proceeded to clean himself. Using his power over light, Azeruk expelled what could only be described as a wave of light energy, causing everything on his skin to burn and wash away. Once Azeruk was finished, he then turned off the water, stepped out, and wrapped himself up in a towel.

After bathing came the next step in his routine, brushing his teeth. For this, Azeruk simply filled his mouth up with water and expelled light energy out of his teeth, gums, and tongue. After a minute of expelling energy, Azeruk then spit into the sink and washed it away. After rinsing out his mouth, Azeruk the got dressed.

Azeruk walked over to his room, opened his dresser, and quickly covered himself up in his usual attire. This was the only part of his morning routine that would be considered normal; no lasers, no high intensity energy waves, just clothing. His shirt was a black sleeveless leather shirt with a front that was heavily reinforced with a flexible, yet very tough layer of leather. His pants were similar, only that they were made of a leather that was very flexible, but tough leather. They were black and had many large pockets on them. They loosely fit Azeruk, but that was why he wore a belt. Once that was finished, Azeruk quickly put some socks on and put on the metal boots he had found in the forest. The metal boots were quite strange, due to the fact that they were made of a metal that was tougher than even the finest steel, yet only half the weight. Azeruk found these boots in the forest, in the possession of a dead knight. Perhaps knight wasn't the most accurate term, but Azeruk didn't know what else to call the fallen soldier. The soldier was clad in sleek metal-plated armor, so he had to be a knight of some kind.

Soon after getting dressed, Azeruk grabbed his two foldable combat knives and looked at them. He then looked at the strange crossbow in the corner of the room. They were originally on the knight's possession, but they were no longer of use to the fallen soldier. The only reason Azeruk took them was because they were so unique. The knives were black and folded in half, something that no other knife could do. The knight's crossbow made loud bangs and fired tiny metal spikes. From what Azeruk deduced, the crossbow used gunpowder to propel the metal spikes. He hadn't taken the weapon apart yet, but he was curious about it's design.

(Bah, can't be sitting here all day and staring at that weapon.), Azeruk thought as he shook his head.

Azeruk walked over to his closet, put on his utility harness and throwing spike wrist straps, and grabbed the item he needed to deliver for today. It was a finely crafted compound bow. One of the rangers in Skógur broke theirs when they were fighting bandits outside the forest and placed an order for a new one.

After going through his mental checklist for his morning routine, Azeruk nodded and walked out the door.

            Skógur – Sidna's home

When her feet moved, they moved in the wrong direction. She began to run towards her house. This was where she usually went when something like this happened. Once home she simply sat in the chair by the table and waited. She knew that one of the teachers would soon be here. Every time something like this happened she ran to her house and one of the teachers came after her. Usually it was Reagen. She liked him. He was one of the only teachers that actually understood her situation and didn't just scold her for what she had done.

After some time waiting he came just as she had predicted. "Hey, you don't have to be upset. It's natural for something like this to happen. You did something you did not know the outcome of and this is what happens. Everything is fine now. The girl managed to get by just fine" Reagen said as he tried to cheer her up a bit. He knew that most likely his attempts would end in vain, but he had to try at least. "Why can't I just leave this area? I once wandered with you remember, that was fun. I didn't have to worry about my magic" she replied. "You know that I can't just go out on a expedition for no reason whatsoever. I do however maybe have something that can trigger such a journey" he said as he took a advanced device out of his bag. "Now I know you don't like to use you magic, but just now for this test. You do it every week anyway and it's just two days since you last did a test" he said trying to not upset her. What he had placed on the desk was a device he had gotten from a college of his to monitor the rawness level of a person. The person just had to use their magic in specific in the device. This one was a specifically made to test the potency of magic that didn't use Aether. She didn't really know what it all meant. It was things that Reagan had told her. For her it only meant one thing. Potency.

She focused on the small smot in the device and summoned a small sphere of void. A few rings on the device then began to spin as Reagan grabbed a book from his bag and opened it on a page. "62,4 %. My feeling was right. That's about 2,5% higher than what we measured earlier this week. There seems that a few people around the village is experiencing increase in their rawness level. Very rapidly increase. In addition I had a dream last night and after the dreams was when it increased. Something is happening. If I can gain more information on this I might even find something new. Wouldn't that be wonderful?" he said to Sidna in a very exited voice. "Are you sure that it is not just some random fluctuation?" Sidna asked in a rather uninterested voice. "It certainly isn't. Unlike last time I am actually on the my way to find something. I need to gather more information. You try to go back to school okay?" Reagan said as he gathered his belongings and exited his house.

              Outside Azeruk's House - Endalausir Forest - 12:30 PM

Azeruk was about to leave until a thought struck his mind and caused him to stop in his tracks.

(I still have yet to test the bow and fine-tune it. I should probably get to it.)

Azeruk turned towards the practice range and walked forward. Once there, Azeruk grabbed some arrows off of a nearby workbench and started the test. First, Azeruk tested the range of the bow. Something he was always took pride in was the fact that he would test the items beforehand and give the parameters of the items to the buyers. Besides, his customers seemed to like the fact that Azeruk was so meticulous with the items. They wanted finely tuned and thoroughly tested items, ones that were reliable and durable. Azeruk fired thirty arrows downrange and calculated the range. After that, Azeruk pulled out some dummies and set them up for strength testing.

Azeruk aimed at the first wooden dummy and fired. In a split second, the arrow planted itself deep within the dummy's torso, so deep that Azeruk had a hard time pulling it out. The second dummy had leather armor on it. Azeruk fired ten arrows, each planting themselves deep within the dummy and ignoring the leather. He then moved on to the third dummy. This time, the dummy had reinforced leather, the kind that was heavy and thick. Despite the toughness of the armor, it still couldn't protect the dummy from the arrow volley. Azeruk then moved on the fourth dummy. This one wore an iron chestplate. Azeruk brought the bowstring back, then released. The arrow pierced the metal armor and planted itself within the dummy. Just to be sure that it wasn't a fluke, Azeruk fired nine more arrows at the dummy. Each arrow ripped through the iron armor and planted themselves deep within the dummy's torso.

(Wow! This bow is nice. I just might go with this design more often.), Jason thought as he looked at the bow and nodded in approval.

Next was the dummy with thick, heavy, iron armor. Jason fired an arrow from the bow, but the arrow slammed into the chestplate, dented and scratched the armor, and bounced off. Jason fired three more arrows, but was given the same result.

(Okay, 105 feet before the arrow starts dropping and has enough force to punch through thin iron.), Azeruk thought as he stopped the testing.

The entire test took around 2 hours; one for testing the range, and one for testing it's ability to penetrate armor. Overall, Azeruk was satisfied with the result.

(Well, I'd better deliver the bow. It wouldn't be very responsible of me if I was late with a delivery.), Azeruk thought as he smirked and looked towards the deeper section of the forest.

Azeruk put the bow onto his utility harness and in a flash, dashed forth at the speed of light, straight towards the town of Skógur.

After Reagen left Sidna's home he went from one house in the town to another to gather all the information he needed. Although the villagers might have once looked at him like a crazy scientist, they had gotten used to it now and since he actually had made quite a few discoveries, the usually agreed to help him. So far tough he hadn't found anyone else that had seen a increase. That didn't stop him tough. At the sime time he was also a little bit worried if he was actually going to leave Sidna alone in her house. He knew that she was not going back to school. He didn't feel like he could make her do it tough. And then there was the fact that he didn't know much about this occurrence maybe it was gone in a few hours. In the end he continued to go around town to gather data.

"Pardon me." Revere was working his way through the crowded paths of the village. He was looking for a place to purchase food, but so far to no success. He looked about his current position and didn't see anything. "Where is the market..."
He had left Selene at the Inn during this errand seeing no immediate harm that could befall her in this village.
"She'll be fine..." He kept saying to himself as he continued his search. Finally he found the market. "There we go...now just to find a vendor that sells some food..." He walked through the crowd, being careful not to draw attention to himself. Eventually he found a reasonable looking vendor that was selling some fruits and bread. "Good morning, mind if I ask what you have in stock today?" He inquired as he started to look over exactly what the vendor had to offer.

He was sitting Indian style, watching over the three most unfortunate towns: myrkur, Sjavar, and Orafei. He also looked out at the lake, starting into the reflection of the sun. It reminded him of his goddess, the goddess of the moon.

"My goddess, I will make sure nothing becomes too chaotic in these towns. It is my sworn duty.

He then headed into Sjavar to inspect the place and eat.

The sun blasted down on the Untreaded Plains, north of Lake Thoka, south of the Ormur Mountains and the strange country f Kaldur. Not much grew here, except for yellowed grass beaten by the blazing sun and occasional shrubbery. Water was scarce, and fresh meat was even scarcer... Especially to a team of explorer heading East towards Lake Skrimsli to find out whether these mysterious tales of a lake monster was real.

Amongst the group was a young woman named Ria Cadence. She was a striking figure on horseback, with long lanky legs accentuated by the tight pants made out of dried cow leather. She wore a beige robe on top of a pink laced shirt. Her hairs were wild while she rode the horse, a mass of black and slight hints of red flowing about in the wind. Her sapphire-like eyes were almost enchanting.

On her back was a black case suitable for holding a guitar. And it did, it did hold a guitar inside. Ria was a musician, travelling all over and beyond Ryglaga to perform. Despite being very young, she is already the stuff of some legends. Some say that she was able to send The Six Kings of a distant land to a very long sleep with her flute. Others say that she was able to tame a dragon and still its' plundered gold with a single pluck of a harp. Still others say that she carries with her the power to create thunderstorms whenever she plays the violin. Bah! Let the wishful thinkers think, Ria was none of those sorts. What she controlled wasn't weather, rich, or narcolepsy, but emotion.

"What do you see, lad?" Ria asked a young goblin boy riding on a donkey in front of the group.

"I see a blackened tree with still-burning leaves, gNarz-gRull." The goblin boy replied, using the goblinese honorific for a female leader. The answer satisfied Ria, as she hoisted up her rein and shouted to her merry band of travellers.

"Step it up boys!" Ria said. "We're almost here."

                      "We're almost at Yarras."

Reagen had already visited most of the village at this point. So far he hadn't seen any big improvement in most people. It was normally talk about insignificant changes. They were still too big to seem natural, but what did that mean. What he had seen in himself and Sidna was something vastly different. That was not saying that he was about to give up. Far from it. At least he wanted to check the rest of the village and a little area around it. By this he meant the people that didn't live inside of the village, but they still lived near enough so that you could get there in a few hours at maximum. If he was lucky one of them were in town already.

Endalausir Forest - Elven Village - Market

"We have a few breads to offer ye, sir." The man sitting under the shade said. "Not much, but they be straight from the bakery. Nice and fresh."

"Excellent, I'll have a loaf of your finest then." Revere requested.

The vendor turned and carefully pulled out of the stack a nice looking loaf of bread. "Alright, sir, as you wish."

"Ah, this will do nicely, what do you seek for it?"

"Well...what do ye have to offer?"

"Hmm..." with that question, Revere went to his belt and unhooked a small pouch with a few coins in it that faintly had a certain marking...
He counted out a few coins and held them out for the vendor to see. "Will this suffice?"

The vendor looked at what Revere was handing him strangely for a moment before finally returning to his normal nature. "Ah yes, yes that will do perfectly."

                          "Perfect, thank you."

"No no, thank you." The vendor replied as Revere left with the loaf of bread. As he slipped into the crowd, the Vendor looked back at the coins suspiciously and back up to where Revere had gone.

In a single instant, Azeruk appeared in the middle of town with the bow attached to his harness. Without hesitation, Azeruk briskly walked over to the local huntsman's house and knocked on the door.

"Hello?", a grizzled old man asked as he opened the door.

"I finished working on your bow. After some extensive testing, I've recorded the bow's range and power. The bow will fire up to 105 feet before the arrow starts dropping, so you just need to aim right at the target, unless you're very far away. As for the bow's ability to pierce, it can punch through thin iron armor as if it were paper. I tried it on some thicker iron plating, but it would only dent the metal, so you would have to keep hitting the same area to pierce it."", Jason answered as he took the bow off his harness and showed it to the man.

"Ahh, excellent. It's a fine bow indeed.", the man said as he received the bow and looked it over.

"And now for your payment.", the man said as he handed a small bag of coins to Azeruk.

"Thank you. Come by anytime for whatever you need.", Azeruk said as he walked away with his payment in hand.

Azeruk still had a few other things to do, as well as kill some time before having to go back home. For example, he needed to buy some food for later. Luckily for Azeruk, the price for a meal was but a small fraction of his recent payment. He could have done it later, but it would have been a waste, so he decided to go to the bakery now. After putting the bag of coins in his harness, Azeruk made his way to the local market.

As Azeruk walked, he noticed the School of Magic to the side of him. The last time he was there was after his family died, when he was asked if he wanted to join. Azeruk was a talented Light mage, and could perform spells and had abilities that educated mages had, but he just wanted to be left alone after his experience. Azeruk was fine with living alone. After all, he had gotten this far alone, so it couldn't have been that bad, could it? After a few seconds, Azeruk cleared his head and continued to the market. The sooner he was done there, the sooner he could go home.

As Reagen walked past the school as he was about to walk over to the house of a person named Azeruk he saw just that person heading towards the market. This was his big chance. If he got his attention then he wouldn't have to wander out into the forest. That meant that there was just one other person he had to meet. "Ohey. Azeruk, you got a minute?" he asked as he walked up to Azeruk. "Okay, listen to me now. I know that it's only been two days since I last took a test on you, but something came up. Something big I believe. If I can just have you perform a test right here and now that would be great" he said as he tried to keep Azeruk there and find his device for measuring the rawness level. Once he found it he continue to talk. "Here, just use a bit of you magic on that so I get a reading okay? Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much" he said thanking Azeruk even before he had done anything as a way of trying to make Azeruk stay and use his magic.
