EDIT: S121 I think you just screwed up. HM looks like John. So upon seeing HM looking like John he would assume it's the replica right?

The reason John knows that it's HM is because HM already showed John what he was capable of.
He turned into John before, also because of radar tag.

That's the problem.
Kristia and Wriggle aren't here.
It would be interesting to see "Evil John" shooting up the Resort, but nobody's there to control half of the Characters.
